This is exactly why I don't like Hong Kong films

This film is about the interactions between two rival mobile phone shop owners in a busy shopping area in Hong Kong.

Since "72 Tenants of Prosperity" is a happy film for Chinese New Year, I expected it not to be any good. In fact, it is so bad that it contains everything why I do not like most Hong Kong films. The plot is almost non-existent, filled with complete nonsense that is supposed to make people laugh. The plot twists do not make much sense, while the story does not invoke any warm or happy feelings.

The abundance of advertising is almost shameless, with some scenes occupied by shop signs or prominent product placement. There is a scene where you can completely and exclusively see the advertisement of a sushi chain restaurant! "72 Tenants of Prosperity" is such a silly film. Watching it is a complete waste of time.

It made me laugh, i liked it!

It is not a serious, thought provoking film, that is for sure. It is a plain simple comedy. So if you don't set your expectation too high, then you will surely enjoy it.

    I am rating it a 7.

Jacky cheung is a comedian genius. It was particularly funny when he was pretending to sing a song of his own as the character in the film. I didn't know about this song until I saw this film. I liked that song instantly. They could have used him to sing a few more songs in the film, after all, he is a famous singer.

The storyline is not too bad, either.

A GOOD OLD DAYS HK RHYTHM MOVIE

Simply entertaining with honouring and remembering the great production which came before this, not a parody but in memories of the good old days of HK's show biz style.

I love the rhythm and lines that you hardly see anymore in 2020 hk movie, it jus go bam bam bam so quick before you foresee next scene.

Watch it for yourself, if you don't like the first 15 minutes ok then this movie not for you.

Simple nonsense, don't waste your time

A complete disaster trying to sell stars and non sense humour. Copying here and there, trying very hard to make it funny, but really fails big time.

The selling point of the movie is to have all the so called stars and celebrities to appear briefly, which turns out to make the whole movie looks cheap and unplanned.

To cut out the budget the movie involves a lot of scenes with sponsorship, and eventually goes ALL OUT like an infomercial on TV, which is really a disgrace to any film making.

Simply save your precious 1.5 hours, I can't even find a point in the movie that I can laugh at (given I'm also a Honger), seems like a film for elementary students more than a real movie.
