Jessie T. Usher recently discussed Netflix's upcoming series Pulse, likening its feel to the early seasons of ABC's acclaimed, long-running medical drama series, Grey's Anatomy. Usher, most well-known for playing the superhero A-Train in the fan-favorite Prime Video series The Boys, will play the Emergency Medicine Resident Sam Elijah in Pulse.
Usher made the Grey's Anatomy comparison in an interview with Screen Rant. The actor refused to give away key story points but called the upcoming Netflix show sexy, romantic, and dramatic. He also expressed that Pulse was a nice change of pace from his experience filming The Boys. "Yeah, Pulse is a medical drama, so Netflix, it'll be airing sometime this spring," he began. "I play Dr. Elijah. I can't give away story points on it, but it has the feel of early Grey's Anatomy. It's sexy, and it's romantic, and it's dramatic in a lot of ways.

Indian auteur Anurag Kashyap has thrown his weight behind “Aakhri Ride” (The Last Ride), set to feature as one of the market picks at the upcoming Clermont-Ferrand short film market.
The film follows Aman, a Mumbai ride-share driver racing to secure dowry money for his sister’s wedding, whose night takes an unexpected turn when he picks up a mysterious passenger – a Chudail (demonic witch). The supernatural encounter forces him to confront deeper truths about urban survival and morality.
Several films directed by Kashyap have played at Cannes, including “Kennedy” (2023), “Psycho Raman” (2016), “Ugly” (2013), “Bombay Talkies” (2013) and “Gangs of Wasseypur” (2012). In addition, several films produced by him have made it to the Croisette, including “Masaan” (2015), “The Lunchbox” (2013), “Monsoon Shootout” (2013), “The Congress” (2013) and “Udaan” (2010).

When The Missing came out in 2003, it was met with very little fanfare. The western starring Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett, and Evan Rachel Wood featured numerous strong performances, especially from Blanchett. The Missing tells the story of a woman in New Mexico Territory during the mid-1880s. Based on the novel The Last Ride by Thomas Eidson, The Missing explores multi-generational relationships and ongoing tensions between frontier settlers and Native Americans.
Blanchett is at the center of the action, drama, and thrills throughout The Missing. Director Ron Howard expertly used Blanchett's range as an actress and her ability to bring out the strongest emotions in audiences. The Missing is not just underrated, it features Blanchett in one of the best performances of her career.
Cate Blanchett's Performance Heightens the Realism of Life on the Frontier
Ron Howard was praised for the accuracy of The Missing by members of the Apache Nation.

One thing that can make or break a WWE Superstar is a finisher. A wrestler could have the full package - the look, the aura, the in-ring skill, the best promo skills, etc. - but a good finisher that leaves an impression in the minds of audiences makes all the difference for a wrestler's career. It could be a flashy one, but for a finisher to truly leave an impression, it needs to be brutal and look as dangerous as possible.
Obviously, a finisher should not be as dangerous as to actually injure an opponent, but it helps to look as brutal as some of the examples on this list.
Spear Bill Goldberg Credited With Inventing it
While wrestlers in previous decades like Hacksaw Jim Duggan would do similar moves that would be referred to as a Shoulder Tackle, Bill Goldberg is widely credited as inventing the Spear. At the very least,...

The Searchers, starring John Wayne, is considered one of the best Westerns of all time due to its stunning cinematography and Wayne's mesmerizing performance. Ron Howard's 2003 film, The Missing, was a new take on The Searchers, involving a dangerous rescue mission for a loved one, but received lukewarm reviews and bombed at the box office. Hollywood frequently references and remixes The Searchers, with Star Wars and Taxi Driver being the most notable examples.
John Wayne's greatest Western received a thinly-disguised remake in 2003, which was soon forgotten. The Searchers by director John Ford cast Wayne as Ethan Edwards, a bitter Civil War vet who returns to his family. However, when most of them are killed in a Comanche raid and his niece is kidnapped, Ethan sets out on a bloody, years-long quest alongside his nephew to find her. TheWrap reports that Chris Hemsworth will produce and star in the movie based on Steve Earle's book, I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive. The 2011 novel by the Grammy-winning country star tells a fictional tale of Toby "Doc" Ebersole, the physician accused of giving Hank Williams a fatal dose of morphine. Ten years after the country music pioneer's death, his doctor is without a license and is supporting his own morphine habit by performing illegal abortions. Feeding his addiction further, Ebersole is haunted by Williams' ghost.

Henry Thomas discusses playing music icon Hank Williams in The Last Ride, currently available on Blu-ray and DVD
Henry Thomas captured America's heart as Elliott in the 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and he hasn't stopped working since. He starred in one of my personal childhood favorites, Cloak and Dagger, and in notable films such as Valmont, Legends of the Fall, Suicide Kings, All The Pretty Horses, Gangs of New York, Dear John, and many more. The actor returns to play music icon Hank Williams in The Last Ride, currently available on Blu-ray and DVD. Set just days before the country singer passed away, this drama is based on the true story of a young man (Jesse James) hired to drive Hank to a series of concerts over the New Year's Eve holiday, and the bond that formed between these very different men. Films don't have to be particularly poignant, action-patched, scary, or hilarious to excel in their given niche, and if you go by many big-budget summer blockbusters, a film doesn't even have to be all that good to be memorable. The little film The Last Ride, a family friendly feature about a road trip by Hank Williams and his newly hired chauffeur on the way to two New Years concerts, sticks in the mind if only because it's an odd approach to the career of one of American music's most storied singers. Instead of catching the man at the height of his career, we see him comfortably on the decline with his health fading and his personal vices making it difficult for him to make it to shows on time. Decent performances by the two leads and its unique timeframe of Hank Williams's career help to overcome a script that's...

Playing the Silas to Henry Thomas' Hank Williams, Jesse James had the fantastic opportunity to recreate the last few days of country music legend Hank Williams' life in The Last Ride at the young age of just 24. Starring alongside Henry Thomas as Williams, James recently chatted with me about playing the driver from this infamous real-life story, and what scene was the most challenging, yet memorable.
As many music fans know, at the end of 1952 Williams asked a young driver, Silas, to drive him to some New Years shows in West Virginia and Ohio. But after keeping his identity a secret from the young driver during the Appalachian countryside travel, Williams was eventually found dead in the backseat of the car. Though the incident grew controversial, pills and alcohol were ultimately to blame.
The Last Ride will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, June 4.

There are many things that make Steven Spielberg's 'E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial' -- thirty years old this year -- a magical masterpiece: a sensitive script, fantastic special effects (it's often easy to forget the title star is a mechanical puppet), John Williams' uplifting score. Eschewing big name stars and established child actors, Spielberg discovered a raft of talent, young and old, that do much to make 'E.T.' such an emotional experience. Here are their 'E.T.' stories and what happened next....

It's still happening. I Hop, the live-action / CGI chimera from Alvin and the Chipmunks director Tim Hill, is headed your way. We already knew James Marsden was involved, and that Russell Brand was on voice duties. And the latest addition to the cast is Kaley Cuoco, best known as Penny, the hottie-across-the-hall from Big Bang Theory. Suddenly we're almost inclined to give I Hop a chance. But not quite. It's not Cuoco's first movie, but it's her first "significant" film role since Big Bang hit. She'll be playing the sister of James Marsden's slacker loser Fred; taking him in after their parents kick him out, and finding herself also saddled with Brand's Easter Bunny Jnr, following his accidental injury by Fred. It's very difficult to get excited. Kaley Cuoco is making her move. The female star of the CBS hit show, The Big Bang Theory, has won the lead female role in I Hop, a live-action/CG-animation comedy produced by Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures. I Hop marks Cuoco’s first major studio feature role, an important distinction considering her last few films have been straight-to-dvd fare like Killer Movie, Cougar Club and the Lifetime classic, To Be Fat Like Me.
