A24 has released the first trailer for the upcoming horror/comedy "Y2K." Yes, that title is very direct in that this film deals with the infamous turn of the millennium, when people all around the world were concerned that technology was going to go haywire at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1999. When the calendar rolled over to the year 2000 in real life, it was all for nothing. However, "Saturday Night Live" alum Kyle Mooney presents us with a very different scenario in his feature directorial debut.
The trailer kicks off like a pretty run-of-the-mill teen comedy, with a boy pining for a girl, finally getting his chance to make a move at a high school party full of cool kids. It just so happens that this party is taking place on New Year's Eve in 1999, and as soon as midnight rolls around, everything changes. In this alternate reality, everything goes wrong and heads roll.

Saturday Night Live alum Kyle Mooney will step behind the camera for Y2K, an upcoming disaster comedy from A24 starring Rachel Zegler and Alicia Silverstone among its ensemble cast.
The film takes place on — you guessed it — New Year’s Eve 1999, when “two high school nobodies decide to crash the last big party before the new millennium,” according to the official logline. “When the clock strikes midnight, the night gets more insane than they ever could have imagined.”
Jaeden Martell (It) and Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2) play the aforementioned “nobodies” in Y2K, with Tim Heidecker, Lachlan Watson, Mason Gooding, Eduardo Franco, Miles Robbins, Fred Hechinger, and Daniel Zolghadri also featured in the cast. Rapper The Kid Laroi will make his acting debut.
Mooney co-wrote the screenplay for Y2K with Evan Winter. A24 will produce alongside Winter, Matt Dines, Jonah Hill and Ali Goodwin’s Strong Baby banner,...

Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney will join fellow cast member Pete Davidson in exiting Saturday Night Live after this weekend’s Season 47 finale, Rolling Stone has learned.
Representatives for SNL did not respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
McKinnon joined the cast in 2012 and became a repertory player the next year. Although the breakout star’s departure from SNL was the subject of rumors recent years, she remained a part of the cast. However, she appeared on the show less frequently and took a hiatus to star in Joe vs.

Where to Watch ‘A Clüsterfünke Christmas’: Comedy Central
Maybe you have a family member or a loved one or someone you live with who is currently pumping an all-day Christmas song radio station or streaming playlist. Perhaps you are that very person for someone else. If either of those apply, I guarantee there’s a song missing from the rotation. It’s called “All I’ll Have for Christmas is Fruit” and it’s a new holiday staple and it arrives about 5 minutes into “A Clüsterfünke Christmas.”
The Comedy Central movie that contains it, written by Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer, is a feature-length riff on Hallmark movies. Much like the thing they’re recreating with a signature twist, it feels like the physical embodiment of a peppermint-flavored checklist, a collection of holiday movie mandates that here get a little bit of a jokey boost.

Where to Watch ‘Saturday Morning All Star Hits!’: Netflix
Even a minute longer, and “Saturday Morning All Star Hits!” probably wouldn’t work. With a handful of weekend cartoon parodies, fake commercials/trailers, and a wacky brother hijinks framing device, taking on any more than a half-hour at a time would be a recipe for this Netflix show to overstay its welcome.
Improbably, though, it doesn’t. Never spending more than a few minutes in any of these worlds, “Saturday Morning All Star Hits!” (take the first letters of each name in that title if you want a totally tubular surprise) recaptures the vibe of Saturday morning favorites in all their camcorder-chic glory.
The show is the combined brainchild of the live-action “Brigsby Bear” duo Kyle Mooney and Dave McCary and the animation stylings of Ben Jones, a vet of “Axe Cop” and “Neo Yokio.

Last month, Netflix revealed our first look at a new a new live-action animation hybrid series called "Saturday Morning All Star Hits!" Modeled after the Saturday morning cartoons and other assorted entertainment that kids soaked up in the 1980s and 1990s, the series looks to tap into nostalgia in a big way. But since this is a project coming from "Saturday Night Live" cast member Kyle Mooney, there's a bit of an odd, dark spin on the initial kid-friendly proceedings. Now that the first trailer for "Saturday Morning All Star Hits!" has arrived, we're getting a...

"It only gets weirder from here, folks!" Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a funky mock series titled Saturday Morning All Star Hits!, created by comedian / actor Kyle Mooney & Ben Jones. Netflix's Saturday Morning All Star Hits! is an adult animated and live action hybrid series celebrating all that is 80s and 90s television. Wildly irreverent and slightly disturbing, twin hosts Skip and Treybor take us on a trip through the Saturday Morning cartoon experience. Kyle Mooney stars in and is behind this series, which features animation from Bento Box Entertainment. After making the excellent Brigsby Bear, it seems he is back for more cartoon comedy, making fun of and paying homage to all the wacky creations from the 80s & 90s that kept kids entertained. But this new series is definitely not for kids. It looks like it gets pretty dark, and also makes fun of how these cartoons...

Kyle Mooney is omnipresent in the first trailer for Netflix‘s Saturday Morning All Star Hits!, which the Saturday Night Live vet co-created with Bento Box Entertainment creative director Ben Jones.
Dropping all eight episodes on Friday, Dec. 10, the adult animated/live-action hybrid series “celebrates all that is ’80s and ’90s television,” with riffs on both California Dreams-y tweenage fare and cartoons (including, we think, a cameo by Denver the Last Dinosaur?).
