EntertainmentThe American pop-rap group said the video was a tribute to Indian music and culture.Tnm StaffNow, actor Vishal’s phenomenal flying-while-seated-on-the-suv scene from the 2015 Tamil film Aambala, actor Sunil’s unbelievably intense cycle chase scene from Telugu film Maryada Ramanna (2010) and some more will be preserved for posterity, thanks to American pop-rap group Black Eyed Peas’ new music video, befittingly titled "Action". The video begins with a disclaimer, similar to the Star Wars intro credits, that it has been made using deep fake technology, warning fans not to believe everything they see. Deep fake is a media synthetic technology using which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else. "Action" begins with "Udyogam Oodipoyindi" song from SS Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna where actor Sunil rides his bicycle as trucks collide and car fly into the sky. Only here, we watch Will.i.am experience the near misses,...

Though she had two back to back Hindi releases in the form of Humshakals and Entertainment, she hadn't signed any new Hindi film. Hence, one wondered about her career plans ahead. However, Tamannaah Bhatia continues to be one busy girl. She is back in South shooting for as many as three films, which are in different stages of production, hence ensuring that she would be pretty much occupied for next 10-12 months at the least. One is a Telugu film Aagadu where she is opposite none other than superstar Mahesh Babu. Even bigger is her bilingual film (in Tamil and Telugu) Baahubali which is pitched as the biggest and the costliest film to be coming out of South. It is directed by S.S. Rajamouli whose Vikramarkudu and Maryada Ramanna were remade as Rowdy Rathore and Son of Sardaar while another blockbuster Magadheera is set to be made in Hindi too.

The Diwali hit Son Of Sardaar (Sos) is the official remake of Tamil super-director S Rajamouli's Maryada Ramanna. However the remake has deviated drastically from the original. Says the Sos director Ashwin Dhir "I'd love Rajamouli to watch our film and tell us what he thinks of the changes that we've made in the original. We've deviated considerably from Rajamouli's film. In Maryada Ramanna the lead is played by a famous comic actor of the South (Sunil). When Ajay Devgn took over the role, the comic element had to be seriously modified." Ashwin also reveals that Sos fell into his lap by default. "You see, Ajay and I were actually working on another film, a remake of a Hollywood film. I had already gone halfway with the scripting when we realized to our horror that we would be unable to get the remake rights of the original film. Our project fell apart.

Starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla, Tanuja, Mukul Dev, Vindoo Dara Singh
Directed by Ashwani Dhir
Every time Vindoo Dara Singh who plays a part of an extended patriarchal Punjabi parivaar in the Sikh heartland, opens his mouth to speak, he is shushed down by others saying, ‘Silencer lagaa’.
By God, at times you feel this loud, flamboyant, ostentatious yet – all right, admit it – sinfully engaging film should just pipe down. There is so much that’s noisy about this film. And we aren’t talking about Sandeep Chowta’s over-accented background score. Yet it’s never unpleasant noise.
Son Of Sardaar takes us straightaway into the core of a family feud in Punjab where Sanjay Dutt, playing a goofy oddball of a Punjabi patriarch as only he can, wants our affable Sardarji Ajay Devgn dead to fulfil an ancestral vendetta.
Let me warn you right away...

This Diwali it’s double dhaka: Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardar (Sos) versus Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Now, we are not comparing the two here, that is for you to do, we will simply let you know if it is worth selecting Sos as your Diwali movie choice. Directed by Ashwni Dhir (Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge), produced by Ajay Devgn and with music by Himesh Reshammiya, on the surface Sos is the film of the ‘masses’, whilst Jab Tak Hai Jaan looks to be the film of the ‘classes’. This one is a comedy potboiler, whilst the other is a romantic saga. This one is set in Punjab, whilst the other waltz’s through London. So with the comparison’s over, here is what we thought.
The story in a nutshell is Sardar Devgn travels home to Punjab from the UK, to lay claim to his ancestral land.

Good things come to those who wait is the saying. Director S.S.Rajamouli has surely made us live that phrase with his latest offering Makkhi. After announcing the film, the director decided to let our imagination run wild when he explained the story was simple. A guy gets reborn to avenge his death and save his girlfriend from the high profile bad guy. A common story that not only Hindi cinema but the entire Indian Film Industry would have tried to depict at least once. But the killer appeal for the audience this time is our guy is reborn as the common house fly. Now are the pieces falling into a tiny sequence in your mind? Intrigue peaked? Trust me when I say this writer went berserk looking out for clippings, promos and the ultimate trailer before this movie (finally!!) released as a bilingual, shot simultaneously in Tamil – Naan Ee and Telugu – Eega.
