Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty released in 2023.
I actually wanted to watch this movie at the time of its release, but unfortunately, I didn't - mainly because some of my friends told me it was a disappointing film.
Yesterday, after finishing Aap Jaisa Koi, I asked ChatGPT to suggest a Telugu rom-com. It gave me a long list, but I had already seen most of them. That's when I decided to finally watch Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, going in with zero expectations since it was still on the list.
To my surprise, it turned out to be a good one!
Naveen Polishetty's comic timing was at its peak - he's truly the backbone of the film. The background score, cinematography, and production values were all solid. The debutant director handled the story very well, balancing emotions and humor nicely.

A simple heartfelt movie where both Anushka & Naveen effortlessly carry the movie with their stellar performances...
Its great comeback for Anushka and she scores in every available frame that too 2nd half elevates her calibre...
On the otherhand Naveen induces simplistic ideas with his timed swag & his energy level easily keep us entertained despite repeated idea of stand up comedy...
Director mahesh makes u laugh many times and there by tried to play safe with carefully constructed organic love story...
Good is not good enough
Coffee mug
IUI but DOCTOR why
Are those few scenes where he proved his ability of writing ...
Overall a neat package of family entertainment.
The film portryed how one can have a family member of your own blood relation keeping aside the formalities of marriage. Ultimately every one depends on their blood relation to avoid loneliness. A women needs her companion not only during her pregnancy but also through out the upbringing of the child.
In the other way if a child was brought up with loving parents, he/she is the luckiest person on the earth. Probably the number of such lucky persons may decrease in future.
It's unfortunate that the present marriage system has left such a negative impression in the present youngsters mind.
The film is completely homely with full of comedy even though it has taken up a novel theme.

Anvitha is a MasterChef in UK, living with her ailing mother who wants her daughter to get married and settled in life, to ensure she doesn't lead a lonely life. Anvitha eventually visits India, in search for a sperm donor, as she believes a child is what she needs to fulfil her mother's wish. She approaches Siddu Polishetty, a stand up comedian to be her sperm donor. Only glitch is that Siddu has fallen in love with her and Anvitha has no intention of having Siddu or any man ss her life partner. With this twist, what happens to these two unlikely pair, is what this rom-com is all about.
It's a threadbare storyline which entirely relies on Naveen Polishetty's comic timing. The film starts off on a decent note, introducing Anushka Shetty's character and successfully establishes her storyline. From her personal loss to her need for opting for a child out of wedlock through artificial insemination. It is after the introduction of Naveen's character, the film becomes a lively watch as the scenes range from funny to outright hilarious ensuring the first half ends on a high note.
The second half, basically the third act which gets painfully stretched is what stops the film from reaching it's true potential. The second half too relies heavily on Naveen's comic timing and those scenes do actually work well. It is once the melodrama kicks in to drive the story to it's penultimate moments, the screenplay drags on and the weak songs do take a toll. A couple of emotional dialogues are actually good here especially the conversation between Naveen and Murali Sharma. More than the writing, it is the actors who carry the film till the end and with a crisper third act, this would've been a far better film.

Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty felt like Salaam Namaste & Vicky Donor in one movie. It's a modern but clichéd love story of two completely different people.
Miss Shetty aka Devsena as in Bahubali is a renowned Master Chef in London who has no faith in any sort of relationship post her parents separation. After the demise of her mother the only person she cared about she decides to mother a child (without getting married) and the search for sperm donor starts. This is when Mr. Polishetty, a stand up comedian and part time corporate guy gets in the picture as he has all the qualities that she wants in the donor. But there's the catch, Mr. Polishetty is looking for a serious relationship. This is where it gets complicated and as a result we have a decent movie that has drama, comedy and a small tea spoon of emotional touch.
One time watch though 2 hr. 30 mins seems quite long duration for such a genre.
