Most of the voice actors from the original series reprise their roles in this film except for Cassandra Lee Morris, who was unavailable and Madeleine Blaustein, who passed away a few years before the voice recording was filmed.
Dan Green reprises his role of Yugi/Yami Yugi in this film eight years after the original series ended and Matt Charles reprises his role of Jaden Yuki three years after Yu-Gi-Oh GX ended.
The films end credits theme is the three theme songs from the three TV series that were produced prior to this films release.
With Dark Magician Girl being summoned in this movie, it is the only monster to appear in both movies. Blue Eyes White Dragon also appears in this movie but it appears as Malefic Blue Eyes White Dragon.
The cards shown in the end credits are the cards that were used in the movie.
