During a Thursday appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” White revealed how the success of “The Bear,” which is shot in Chicago, has made filming the show more chaotic. “We have a bit more security now because we’re out and we’re shooting on location, and people get a little bit excited,” White said. “We don’t really run into trouble very often. People are always really nice.”

The actor has come to rely on an ex-cop named Moody, whom he met while he was filming “Shameless” in Chicago, to be his bodyguard whenever he is in the Windy City. His relationship with Moody, however, resulted in an embarrassing moment when they were shooting the new season of “The Bear.

There must be something in the streaming air, as everything old is new again; at least when it comes to platform branding. In May, Warner Bros Discovery announced that it would be returning its flagship streaming service to its previous name, going from the vague Max to the more prestigious and specific HBO Max. Now, Paramount Global is doing the same thing, but in reverse. The company has started the process of rolling back the name of its streamer’s ad-free premium tier from the descriptive, yet cumbersome, Paramount+ With Showtime to its previous name, the more traditional Paramount+ Premium.

The Chi ties Dexter, Homeland and Weeds for the second-longest run in Showtime’s history, behind Shameless with 11 seasons.

The Lena Waithe-created series already commissioned a writers room back in February.

The news comes just under two weeks after the Season 7 premiere, which was the most-streamed premiere in series history according to Paramount.

The official description of Season 7 states, “With Alicia (Lynn Whitfield) at the helm, the pivotal women of ‘The Chi’ rise to reclaim their power. Yet, as loyalties are tested and new rivalries are stoked, it becomes clear that there’s only one crown and it will come at a heavy cost.”

Along with Whitfield, the cast of the series includes Jacob Latimore, Yolonda Ross, Michael V. Epps, Shamon Brown Jr., Birgundi Baker, Luke James, and Wendy Raquel Robinson.

This movie is an upcoming biopic of music icon Bruce Springsteen, telling the story of his journey making his 1982 album Nebraska. The film is directed by Scott Cooper and features The Bear's White as the main star. Hoffmann plays Adele Springsteen, Bruce's mother. In addition to White and Hoffman, Deliver Me From Nowhere features a leading cast including Stephen Graham, Paul Walter Hauser, Jeremy Strong, and Marc Maron.

In an interview with ScreenRant for Poker Face season 2, Hoffmann previews White's performance in the role. Hoffman notes that she "didn't actually get to see Jeremy embody Bruce" because her scenes were filmed with a younger version of the character. She did, however, preview Springsteen's own reaction to White's performance, noting that the musician "couldn't believe that what he was hearing wasn't his own voice." She thinks White "really went for it.

When “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler stepped off the ferry in Martha’s Vineyard for a post-grad summer working at an exclusive yacht club, she immediately became fascinated by the women, who, outfitted in head-to-toe pastels, moved in packs across the island.

“I didn’t really know that level of wealth even existed in America,” Metzler told TheWrap. “I just remember that feeling of, ‘they are something that I’m not welcome in and I want to be welcome.’ Their life looks way more fun than ours — They’re having gimlets. They’re on their super yachts — the wealth in this country is a cult.”

For Metzler, who was 22 at the time, that summer kicked off what she calls an “almost obsessive interest in writing about class in America,” which led her to write a play based on her experiences based in Martha’s Vineyard, which would later become “Sirens.

Acorn TV’s captivating crime drama The Madame Blanc Mysteries, created by and starring Sally Lindsay, is set to return with a two-episode premiere on Monday, July 7 in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Julianne Moore celebrated the premiere of her next project, “Sirens” on Netflix, on Tuesday, May 20 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The limited series features Moore alongside Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon, and Glenn Howerton in the Margot Robbie-produced project from “Maid” creator Molly Smith Metzler.

On the carpet, IndieWire caught up with Moore about Jesse Eisenberg’s upcoming A24 musical film.
