Best Zombie Manga for Fans of the Undead
Image
Japanese manga offers unique takes on zombies, from reanimated corpses to zombies controlled by a protagonist. Empire of Corpses and Zombie Hunter add twists to the zombie genre with unique storylines and character development. From romance to horror, zombie manga like I Am a Hero and School-Live! offer diverse and engaging storytelling.

One of the most rewarding things about manga is its ability to engage in so many genres and subject matter. Zombies have long been a staple of the horror movie genre, often nodding towards the famous version of the undead from George Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Consequently, series like Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead pay continued homage to the maestro of the modern zombie.

Japanese horror tales, with their own rich and creepy folklore, haven't quite embraced zombies to the same extent. However, there are still a handful of titles from Japan that focus on the monsters,...

Zom 100 Has A Brilliant Twist On Zombies, But It's Not the First Anime To Do So
Image
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead offers a refreshing and unexpected twist on the zombie genre, focusing more on comedic slice-of-life antics rather than the typical apocalyptic horror. School-Live takes a psychological approach to zombies, with the protagonist's delusions creating a coping mechanism in the face of a terrifying outbreak. Is This A Zombie? reimagines the concept of zombies, with the main character becoming a magical girl after being revived, resulting in a wild and chaotic story filled with comedy and supernatural battles. Zombie Land Saga combines zombies and Japanese idols in a unique and unexpected way, featuring a group of girls who use music to regain their memories and bring themselves back to life.

From its success this past Summer of 2023, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead has wowed viewers with its intriguing use of zombies. Instead of focusing on the horrors of a zombie apocalypse and...

Image
Mumbai, Feb 22 (Ians) World-renowned danseuse and Mohiniattam exponent Kanak Y. Rele passed away in a private hospital following a brief illness, here on Wednesday morning, family sources said.

She was 85 and is survived by her husband Yatindra Rele, son Rahul and daughter-in-law Uma, and two grandchildren.

Ailing for over a week, Dr. Rele was admitted to a suburban private hospital where she breathed her last around 7.30 a.m., said the family source.

Condoling her demise, Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais described Dr. Rele as a ‘Nritya Tapaswini’, one of the finest exponents of Mohiniattam and Kathakali who dedicated her entire life to the cause of promotion, propagation and research of Indian classical dance forms.

“Dr. Rele made fundamental work in the field of dance through her Nalanda Dance Research Centre and the Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya. She trained hundreds of students and brought classical dance close to the people,” said Bais.

Sex Education: Emma Mackey to exit the Netflix comedy series after Season 4
Image
School is out for Emma Mackey now that the actress is leaving Netflix’s Sex Education after four seasons. Mackey confirmed her exit from the coming-of-age comedy series while attending the BAFTA Awards, where she won the Rising Star award for her outstanding performance in the laugh-out-loud drama.

“Season 5? I’ve just finished the fourth one last week!” Mackey told RadioTimes. “No, I don’t think I’ll be in season 5. I’ve said goodbye to Maeve.”

Previously, Mackey said she’d have a minor role in Sex Education season 4, with Maeve traveling to America to live her dream at the prestigious Wallace University, where she’ll be taught by cult author Thomas Molloy (Dan Levy).

“It feels very familiar! And it’s a bit more sporadic because we have more characters. So there’s… I’m not in it as consistently,” Mackey said before filming Season 4. “But we’re...

Why Law And Order Creator Dick Wolf Thinks Now Is The Time For School Ties To Get Rereleased
Image
Dick Wolf is easily one of modern television's most prolific producers, if not the most prolific. His impact on network television can't be understated thanks to his work on the "Law & Order" franchise and "Miami Vice." What many may forget is that he's also had his hand in the film industry, writing the scripts for films such as "Masquerade" and "No Man's Land."

However, if there is one film of his that is worth talking about today, it's "School Ties." Starring a who's who of future acting stars, it centers around the conflicts surrounding a Jewish teenager in 1959 that starts attending a fancy prep school seemingly consisting of Anglo-Saxon bullies. David (Brendan Fraser) is, for a time, caught between two worlds — one where he needs to hide his Jewish faith and heritage, and another where he doesn't. Unfortunately, those worlds end up colliding in ways he could have never anticipated.

Hogwarts Legacy: How Many Staircases Does Hogwarts Have?
Image
There are few objects in Harry Potter that function as they would in the human world - and stairs in Hogwarts Legacy are certainly not one of them. Just like in the books and movies, the game will feature moving staircases that can assume different configurations. This will undoubtedly contribute to the whimsical qualities of the wizarding school, and make navigation a more unique experience. But Hogwarts is massive, and Hogwarts Legacy aims to recreate that scale, so part of that will be in the number of moving staircases that canonically exist in Harry Potter.

Another fantastical Harry Potter feature that players will be able to experience is living portraits. Hogwarts is chock-full of these talking paintings - especially in the Grand Staircase - and so it looks like they'll be an integral part of gameplay, at least in reaching the Gryffindor common room in Hogwarts Legacy. But moving staircases...

Wattpad’s taking 5 million authors to school with new YouTube series (Exclusive)
Image
Wattpad is launching a creator education video series it hopes will give writers a leg up.

Each episode of Story School will tackle common issues authors might face, either on the page or in the course of their careers. The series—which is starting with four episodes, but may expand to more later—features Wattpad content lead Leah Ruehlicke along with Wattpad-published authors Loridee De Villa (How to be the Best Third Wheel), Matthew Dawkins (Until We Break), and Jessica Cunsolo (With Me).

Episode one, for example, tackles writer’s block, a common bane of authorly existence.

Wattpad head of content & creator development Nick Uskoski says it wanted to develop this series because the more than 5 million writers publishing original work and fanfiction on its platform can struggle to find advice geared specifically toward them.

“We’ve pioneered the growing webnovel category,” Uskoski tells Tubefilter. “Because of that, and the...

Seth Rogen Says Marvel Movies Are ‘Geared Towards Kids’
Image
Seth Rogen may be grateful for the success of his superhero series “The Boys”, but that still doesn’t mean he’s a fan of the MCU franchise.

The 40-year-old actor recently admitted to Total Film magazine that as an adult with no children, the Marvel superhero films don’t have much appeal to him.

“I think that Kevin Feige is a brilliant guy, and I think a lot of the filmmakers he’s hired to make these movies are great filmmakers,” Rogen told the outlet.

“But as someone who doesn’t have children… It is [all] kind of geared toward kids, you know? There are times where I will forget. I’ll watch one of these things, as an adult with no kids, and be like, ‘Oh, this is just not for me.

Hogwarts Legacy: How Many Students Are At Hogwarts?
Image
Players will soon be able to start their journeys in Hogwarts Legacy, but they'll be far from alone in the wizarding school. From what's been seen in the numerous trailers and showcases so far, the map of Hogwarts looks massive and incredibly detailed, and so there will naturally be plenty of students to occupy that space. However, the actual number of NPCs that players will be able to see and interact with could change the feeling of the game entirely. Too few students could make the game feel unrealistic, whereas too many students could quickly become annoying - and so Hogwarts' in-game population is an interesting aspect to consider.

Although multiplayer won't be available in Hogwarts Legacy, it at least seems that NPCs will be more than just static quest-givers. Each of the characters revealed so far looks to have complex backstories and goals, and one could even argue that...

Joshua Bassett Lights a Spark With a Girl He Can’t Have on ‘Smoke Slow’
Image
Some people love a slow burn — but for singer-songwriter Joshua Bassett, the pain of waiting for a resolution that might never come is too much to bear, as evidenced by his new single, “Smoke Slow.” The vulnerable, piano-backed song finds the High School Musical actor pining for quality time with a love interest he knows he won’t ever be able to call his owm.

“All that we are is all that we’ll ever be, ‘cause he’s the one waiting at home,” Bassett sings on the song’s chorus.

High School Musical's "Bop to the Top" Gets a "Wap" Remix in This Must-See Video
Shkola (2010)
From the top, make it bop! TikTok just gave fans a crazy remix of a High School Musical hit and one of Cardi B's most Nsfw songs, and strangely, it works.  On Feb. 3, TikTok user @kraziibird answered fan @mickeycvd's call to combine Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 2020 single "Wap" with HSM's "Bop to the Top," performed by Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel's characters Sharpay and Ryan. It's easy to see why the songs would make a hilarious combo: While they couldn't be more different in terms of, um, meaning, the songs both feature the word "top." In "Wap," the lyrics are "From the top, make it drop," while "Bop to...
