10 Best Kuudere Characters In Shojo Anime, Ranked
Image
When it comes to popular love interest character types, most think of tsunderes, but kuudere characters are the unsung hero in shojo anime. Kuudere tend to be female, especially in shonen and seinen anime, but in shojo anime, they tend to be males. The female shojo kuuderes, though, are generally wonderfully complex and have extensive internal worlds, which make them interesting and complicated love interesst.

Kuudere characters are known for their frosty exteriors. They exemplify the adage, "cold hands, warm heart." They don't display much feeling, but below the surface, they are total softies – especially when it comes to the person they have a crush on. They always think about others, even when it seems like they don't. Rather than using words, they let their contemplative actions speak for themselves.

10 Best Cottagecore Anime, Ranked By Coziness
Image
Cottagecore is an aesthetic that focuses on living closely with nature – whether it's in a person's backyard or in their local community park or garden. The aesthetic isn't just about linen dresses and baskets of wildflowers, though. It's also about living a slow life despite a professional world that widely deifies individualism, overstimulation, and endless production and professional development.

Sometimes people just want to take a break to rest, to sit in a sundress by a river, to read or cook or knit and not think about the other things they "should" be doing. There are many slice-of-life anime with low stakes that are perfect for fans of the cottagecore aesthetic and philosophies. Even the magic in cottagey fantasy anime takes a backseat to the magic of simple, everyday tasks and creative passion projects.
