Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell are in talks to star in a remake of the classic film Single White Female.
The movie is in the “early stages of development,” according to Deadline and Taylor is the one who brought the project to Sony. She will produce the film alongside Jenna.
The original movie starred Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bridget Fonda.
Fonda played “Allison ‘Allie’ Jones, a software designer living in New York City, who advertises for a roommate after she discovers her live-in fiance has been cheating on her. She soon finds something very strange is going on with the tenant (Leigh) who decides to move in.”
Back in 2022, Lifetime released the movie Single Black Female, inspired by the original movie, plus a sequel in 2024.
Jenna has an exciting new movie hitting theaters this month and Taylor just landed an exciting new role in another high-profile film.

The legendary troupe first debuted in the late ‘90s, delivering hits like “No, No, No,” “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name” that sent them skyrocketing to superstardom in the music industry.
Throughout the years, the group experienced several member lineup shake-ups, before ultimately landing on their most well-known iteration, dubbed “DC3.” Together, the trio would release fun, empowering smashes like “Survivor,” “Bootylicious” and “Independent Woman Pt. 1.”
Since their last studio album in the mid ‘00s, Destiny Fulfilled, all of the members have gone on to embark on solo ventures expanding beyond music into acting, writing, presenting, and appearing as judges on popular reality TV shows.

I’m not going to lie, I’m really starting to enjoy the trashy nature of these horror/thriller themed Lifetime movies. I think it’s the unapologetic nature of their films, they remind me very much of my video renting heyday, when the sexploitation films of filmmakers like Jag Mundhra were popular and Single White Female inspired a gluttony of similar ‘vicious vixens’ revenge-style films. It also seems, at least to me, that Lifetime has taken the reigns from the likes of Syfy, who years ago produced cheap but fun movies that riffed on bigger budget movies and, ultimately, made their films almost a genre of their own. Lifetime is doing the same with their films – taking their traditional over the top dramas but scaling them back a little,...

After years of being compared, Amber Riley and Raven Goodwin are finally sharing a screen - and it's the perfect pairing. Lifetime's upcoming "Single Black Female" follows Monica (Goodwin) as she grieves the loss of her father. While she's coping with her loss, she gets a new assistant, Simone (Riley) - who will turn out to have more than looks in common with her. Plot-wise, the remake of "Single White Female" departs in several ways from the 1992 psychological thriller - but the creepiness remains. Popsugar spoke to Riley about working with Goodwin, starring in a remake, and what's in store for her musical future.
Riley and Goodwin were at the top of the casting directors' wish list when she was offered the role. "It was really cool," she says. "Me and Raven already wanted to do a project together. We've known each other for years. We've been good friends for years.

Fox announced that lawyer, journalist and former “The View” co-host Star Jones has been appointed judge of the first-run syndicated series “Divorce Court,” starting in September.
As television’s longest running court show, “Divorce Court” dates back to the late 1950’s, when actors used to reenact actual divorce proceedings. Today, the program features real people and real cases — ranging from divorce court proceedings to other domestic disputes.
Judge Faith Jenkins will continue through the end of Season 23 and Jones will join for Season 24. Jones, a former assistant district attorney in New York and former legal correspondent on NBC’s “Today Show,” “Nightly News” and more, said that she will “offer the parties before ‘Divorce Court,’ as well as viewers, a no-nonsense approach to the law and a decision driven by my proven legal expertise, compassion and empathy, personal experiences and hard-earned common sense.”
