Gears of the Wizarding World

Hope you don't mind a little bit of Gears of War thrown into your Harry Potter game. Oh? Did I say "little"? I meant: a Gears of War game with a Harry Potter paint job not done very well. It has some fun moments but it's such an odd choice to make a shooter game for a fantasy world like Harry Potter.

This game is so bad...

I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter franchise, movies and video games. Well, this one is the worst in the whole series. Missing the original cast, a completely different story, with average graphics and the gameplay at its worst. The missions are very very silly. All of it is very dull and not engaging at all. You'll be led to a major disappointment if you try this one out. Better not to waste your time and money. I'm eagerly waiting and hoping for Deathly Hallows Part II (VG) to make a release as it is the final part of the series. It's a request to EA to please give us something worth to play. Rather not produce a game like this at all.

Part 1: Deadly (technology)

Well, as a fan of HP, I'm bound to review those two last games as I played and reviewed the sixth before. To put it clearly, it will be the 1st time I wrote about games that I don't achieved. So you understand the lack of quality of those two dreadful last installments and it's a shame for this franchise. As they are clone, the Part 1 will be about the game-play and technology while the Part 2 will focus about the adaptation of the Potterverse.

In a time of high tech consoles, smart-phones, tablets PC, you will be horrified by the production. The loading time is endless, every instruction has to be repeated: "you want to play, press enter" #enter# - loading – "to play, press enter" #enter# - loading ! The same when you quit the game, which happens often: " Do you want to quit ?" #Yes# – loading – "To quit, press" #press# "are you sure you want to quit" ! Sometimes, between levels, you can wait up to 2 minutes watching at a small blazon and reading lines taken from a too much precious grandmother: "Stupefix works better at close range. Protego can help you; ...". Are the designers are so dumb?

The saves are encrypted so it's no use to try to modify them. And they are strictly linear so you can repeat a level if you want (it's strange as we saw they are into repeating indeed).

On Part 1, no way to access or customize the keyboard so you have to figure the functions. On Part 2, they offer the ability but now the camera easily get stuck always too high or too down so I couldn't just look what happens in front of me.

Now, the best for the end: the aim cursor. To say it simply, it behaves like Harry is drunk. You put the circle at the target and the spell fires next to it so you miss. I'm sure the designers would say that it's like the stress in real life but it's just BS.

In conclusion, avoid those silly games at all cost and if you want to know about the adaptation, see you in Part 2 !
