Image
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has officially gone gold, signaling that Kojima Productions has wrapped up development and the game is ready for its June 26 release. Naturally, the team is now taking a well-deserved break, except for one person: Hideo Kojima.

The legendary director has already moved on to his next project, as he casually revealed during a recent episode of his KOJI10 radio show. The announcement surprised even his staff, but then again, when has Kojima ever followed the rules?

Hideo Kojima’s gold moment isn’t a green light for the rest

In the world of game development, “going gold” usually signals the completion of the project and brings a moment of rest, relief, and maybe even celebration. For Kojima Productions, Death Stranding 2 reaching this milestone should have been exactly that.

But on his KOJI10 podcast (translated by Genki_JPN), Kojima shared that while his team is taking a break,...

“It’s not that I want money”: As Long as Hideo Kojima Is Alive, He Won’t Sell Kojima Productions
Image
Hideo Kojima is one of the most respected figures in the gaming industry, and is the mastermind behind some of our favorite franchises like Metal Gear Solid. But not all of our praise for him is because of the games he has made, it’s because of his beliefs and visions for Kojima Productions, the studio he founded in 2015 after separating from Konami.

Hideo Kojima has made so many iconic games. | Image Credit: Game Trailers on YouTube

The new studio went on to find huge success and Kojima has even admitted over the years that he receives “ridiculously high” buyout offers from companies all over the world. But you know what his response to that has been? No. If you’re wondering why, it’s for creative freedom. He has made it clear that as long as he is alive, Kojima Productions will never be sold.

Hideo Kojima will always...

Image
Picture: Netflix

The latest movie from director Olivier Marchal, also creator of the show Blood Coast, stars Victor Belmondo investigating the gruesome murders of two of his former colleagues on his own.

For close to three decades, writer, actor, and director Olivier Marchal has enjoyed a steady career as one of the most in-demand talents for gritty crime dramas and thrillers in France. His newest movie, Squad 36, has been produced by his longtime studio, Gaumont, for Netflix and is his second movie produced directly for streamers, after Overdose, produced for Prime Video in 2022. A former police detective himself, Marchal is also fond of carrying gritty French novels to the screen, this time with the book Flic Requiem by Michel Tourscher. The movie is set in the elite anti-criminal unit Bri, and Marchal dedicates the movie to some of his acquaintances who have worked within the unit. This tale of corruption,...

The central struggle of Netflix’s French action thriller, Ad Vitam, hinges upon the age-old question of whether the concept of nationalism equates loyalty to the state or to the ones who control the power dynamics of the state. Under Paris: Xavier Gens, Netflix shark thriller hit with parasitism lawsuit
Sous la Seine (2024)
Under Paris, a shark thriller from genre regular Xavier Gens, is set to be released through the Netflix streaming service on June 5th – but producers Sébastien Auscher and Edouard Duprey have been hit with a parasitism lawsuit filed by filmmaker Vincent Dietschy, who claims that Under Paris resembles a project called Silure, which he began working on in 2011. According to Deadline, if a judge rules in favor of Dietschy at the initial hearing on June 14th, Netflix might have to remove Under Paris just days after its release, as Dietschy’s lawyer has requested that the release of the film be suspended while the parasitism lawsuit makes its way through the court system.

Dietschy says he registered Silure with France’s rights management body Sacd in 2012. Going by article 1240 of France’s Civil Code, parasitism is what it’s called when “one party follows in the footsteps of another party...

Hideo Kojima's New Horror Game Od Sure Sounds A Lot Like Pt
Image
Hideo Kojima's mysterious horror game, Od, has finally seen its first trailer courtesy of a world premiere at The Game Awards 2023. The biggest surprise of the announcement was the reveal that Od, seemingly short for Overdose, would be a collaboration with renowned horror film director Jordan Peele. While no gameplay was shown, a few members of the cast were announced, and the game's atmosphere is already chilling enough to resurface memories of Pt, Kojima's lost media demo of what would have become Silent Hills.

Following its premiere at The Game Awards, Od's trailer was uploaded to the Kojima Productions YouTube channel. The trailer shows very little about the game, but does provide a haunting first look at its cast, which includes Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. With Xbox Game Studios attached, it's likely to be an Xbox Console exclusive, but there is no release window or date for Od just yet.

90 Day Fiancé: Mahogany Roca's 3 Most Interesting Instagram Posts
Image
90 Day Fiancé star Mahogany Roca's Instagram page has been in the news for more reasons than one since her 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days debut with Ben Rathbun. Mahogany from Peru was introduced as 52-year-old Ben's online girlfriend, who he had been talking to for three months. While it may have looked like a real couple on the surface, Ben had never seen Mahogany or even talked to her on phone. Mahogany, who's 24 years old, looked too good to be true. Her photos were overly filtered, and she made excuses not to meet Ben when he visited her in Peru.

After she appeared on 90 Day Fiancé, her Instagram was discovered, and she looked like a different person. Her photos made it look like Ben was talking to a catfish, but many episodes passed by until Mahogany appeared onscreen in person. Even then, Mahogany looked nothing like the girl on her social media.

Dealer Pleads Guilty In Death Of Actor Michael K. Williams
Image
A Brooklyn drug dealer pleaded guilty Wednesday to providing “The Wire” actor Michael K. Williams with fentanyl-laced heroin, causing his death.

Irvin Cartagena’s plea to a charge of conspiring to distribute drugs was entered in Manhattan federal court. Sentencing was set by U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams for Aug. 18, when Cartagena will face a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and the possibility of as many as 40 years.

The famed actor, who also starred in films and other TV series including “Boardwalk Empire”, overdosed in his Brooklyn penthouse apartment in September 2021. Authorities said he died hours after buying the heroin from Cartagena on a Brooklyn sidewalk in a deal that was recorded by a security camera.

Cartagena, 39, signed a plea agreement with prosecutors stipulating that the mix of heroin and fentanyl he sold Williams resulted in his death. His lawyer, Sean Maher, declined comment.

The Game Awards 2022 has finally brought the speculation to a close by confirming that a Death Stranding sequel will be the next game from Kojima Productions.

The Game Awards 2022: Announcement and Reveal Predictions
Image
2022 is shaping up to be one of The Game Awards’ biggest years yet. Elden Ring and God of War: Ragnarok are deadlocked for nominations, and titles such as Horizon Forbidden West and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 follow closely behind. The biggest awards can go any way, but let’s be honest: most gamers will tune in for the trailers and reveals.

Since The Game Awards is currently one of the biggest game-centric celebrations outside of E3, it’s a tradition for companies to fill in the gaps between awards with ads for their upcoming games. Last year alone, gamers got announcements like long-awaited reveals of Alan Wake 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, as well as debuts like Slitterhead. It’s a foregone conclusion that this year’s Game Awards will also be full of trailers, but nobody is entirely sure which reveals to expect. Of course, the rumor mill (and a few...
