The concept of the movie is absolutely about a new concept. Here girls are hired for surrogacy and are kept in a closed apartment without having zero contact with anyone. They were said that the hot shots people hire these girls and take their respective babies after their delivery. Neither the mother nor the couples who pay for their deliveries come in contact with each other during the delivery period. Samantha Ruth who played "Yashoda" in this movie agrees for surrogacy so that she can arrange money for her sister's operation. Yashoda while staying in the closed apartment discovers that something is fishy and the film is about whole investigation. Very new topic, may be it would be unacceptable to larger audience but yes it's a movie for all Samantha lovers.
In 2009, a SFC based cosmetics company Neocutis Inc admitted that it used cells from a male fetus as one of the key ingredients in its age defying cream. It used the
Processed Skin Cell Protein -PSP, obtained from a postage stamp-sized rectangle of skin taken from a terminated 14-week old male fetus in Switzerland. This scandalized the anti-abortionists across the nation. Although, the fetal kidney cells are being used for the polio vaccine.
The plot of this movie is based on these lines. It feels quite preposterous. An intriguing tandem plot with almost equally weighted two storylines. It unravels an ugly truth. It has however, few unfounded de trop elements for example rape attempt, bullying and overstretched conclusion. The protagonist played by Samantha Prabhu who delivers a commendable performance and her character is cultivated in a stable unhurried manner. But an outmoded bolly/tollywood drama makes a supposedly an excellent unique modern mystery drama somewhat ineffectual and little run-of-the-mill. Still an okay watch.

I went into the theater with so much expectition and it was WORTH IT!!!!!
The Bgm is so goood it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Sam's acting was just CHEF'S KISSS. It was sooo goood The character are also nicely written.
The Twists are so good The First half was more of a emotional half AND the second was a good action thriller half The climax felt a little dragged But it was still a decent climax .
Overall = The movie is a good movie with a lot of twist and turns through out the movie with some good acting from the leads.
My overall rating is is a 9.2 /10 A good entertainer.
Oh and I read a lot of reviews after watching it and most of them said that this was routine or fails to deliver the main message of the movie .

In simple words this movie is a masterpiece and That is the reason why bollywood can't even catch the 5% of south indian movies storylines. South indian film makers are working on movies on other dimension. Hats off to film makers. Bollywood can't even imagine the content of real entertainment. You will see in near future that bollywood crap will try to make remake of this masterpiece also and try to ruin it and that is the reason most of the indians stopped watching all the bollywood crap and south movies doing immensely great in hindi belts. Bollywood is almost on an edge to become vanished.

The movie plot is really good . The suspense thriller and all the ingredients require to keep you engaged are in this movie. The concept shown is terrific and also Samantha with her amazing acting has added more glory to the movie. All the cast has played the role perfectly. Keeps you on the edge till end . The level of South movies is achieving new heights day by day and the main reason is the story/script which is really heart of movie. Really enjoyed it. A must watch one.
Such indulging movies are treat for those who loves to watch good content and not just that overacting overdoers ......

Can you just imagine a Criminal Nexus going live on a video conference and giving each detail of the crime?
Can you imagine a cabinet minister coming on a video call for an ordered execution?
Vasudev simply goes on telling the DIG was behind all of that without no backing evidences. A sitting commissioner goes to kill someone as if he is a supari killer.
These were only a few of many illogical stuffs in the movie.
The movie started well. But the director could not hold it for long. Tried to force fit too many twists and turns which did not make sense at all
Logic did thousand deaths in this movie.

Hari and Harish's Yashoda takes a very real-world situation, ups the ante and on top of everything, bank on a dependable actor like Samantha to carry it through. The directors introduce you to the story while integrating a surrogacy tale with a murder investigation. The little details behind the characterisation and the mysterious universe help Yashoda rise above an average thriller.
Yashoda (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) is a surrogate in desperate need of money. Instead of carrying out her pregnancy in the basti she lives in, she is urged to move to the high-end facility Eva, owned by Madhu (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar). It also helps that she has Dr. Gowtam (Unni Mukundan), who's easy on the eyes, looking after her health. While the clinically white rooms, pastel outfits, luxurious food and great company seem like a dream-come-true for any pregnant woman, cracks soon form on the surface. A disappearance here, a glitch there and soon Yashoda finds herself unravelling the mystery behind it all.
On the other hand, in the world outside Eva, we also have a murder mystery unravelling. A Hollywood starlet dies under mysterious circumstances, so do a tycoon and a super model. An unknown drug (apart from a fairness cream!) seem to hold the key to the whole mystery. Secret codes, dead policemen, loose ends - how does it all connect to the facility ?
The first half of Yashoda banks heavily on comedy and emotion. The scenes where smart-mouthed Yashoda flirts with Gowtam, pulls pranks on the facility workers and banters with the many women like her there makes you chuckle. Every woman there has a story and more often than not, it's much more to do with than just being a vessel to help childless parents. The more Yashoda seems to find out about the facility, the more a team of police men (Murli Sharma, Shatru, Sampath Raj) seem to lose track of their investigation, stumbling upon road blocks.
A fight scene right before the interval sets the tone for what's to follow - an edge-of-the-seat thriller that sees Yashoda claw and fight her way out of the situation she's in.
Samantha steals the show as the titular Yashoda. This is her film through and through. She even draws whistles with the way she kicks butt and delivers punch dialogues with ease. The more she gets into action mode the more you both have fun and flinch at the same time. Varalaxmi and Unni Mukundan sell their roles well. You just know there's something simmering beneath the surface, waiting to come out. And when it does, it comes out well. However, rest of the cast, including Rao Ramesh, Murli Sharma, Sampath Raj and co play their parts well.
Yashoda is the film to catch this weekend if you're looking for something beyond the usual masala fare or love stories. Watch it especially if you're a fan of thrillers or are a fan of Samantha. You won't regret it.

Language: Tamil

The story is decent and the flashback is quite solid. Other than that the shades of multiple Hollywood movies spoil the fun of the movie. Lot of scenes resembles "the Island" movie and even action scenes.
When you don't have connection to the pain of the characters, you will loose the interest on the movie completely. The twist in the end is only help to boast the heroine commercial angle, nothing to the viewers.
The story is quite predictable and the lengthy running time tests the viewers patience sometime. One time watchable for the story and flashback.

Cliche story, cliche villains, cliche heros, cliche scams, cliche murders. Oh God. I'm regretting watching this horrible of a movie and wasting my precious Saturday afternoon.
It's like a typical 1980's thriller where in the end Prabhakar Srinath Dwarakish all find the villain.
Don't waste your time. I fell for the 8.1 on imdb. I was lazy to read reviews. I should have.
What makes the filmmakers think we are still the same audience as 30 years ago to watch such movies.
The pain of wasting time on such craps is inconsolable.
Hope someone will find this review at the right time and save yourself the suffering.

Certainly has a different plot with the usually expected twists & turns yet it's gripping to a certain extent with multiple flaws.
Music, BGM, songs, and comedy could've been improvised to better it up.
Female protagonist-based movies usually work to some extent and this film also stays on the higher side of that range.
Though Varalakshmi's characterization & sequences were base for this movie, her character wasn't strong enough & some of the sequences she was in were not so engagingly made.
Overall, it's a good one-time watch for thriller fans with a different plot although you might guess the turns way too earlier in the film.

Yashoda (2022) :
Movie Review -
Hari-Harish's action thriller, Yashoda, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the titular character, is the same old mindless South film that we used to avoid before Bahubali, RRR, KGF, Pushpa, and Kantara came along. Yashoda tries to be a smart spy thriller, but believe me, it runs on such a senseless path led by the directors that even a decent script starts annoying you. If you have seen the James Bond series, the Mission Impossible series, and some other known spy action thrillers from the global cinema, then Yashoda has nothing but cinematic torture for you. But if you are unaware of those popular foreign flicks and enjoy watching influential and adapted stuff, then you can have a good time at the movies with a kick-ass female lead.
The film is about a young girl named Yashoda (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), who goes through surrogacy and is admitted to a secret, top-class place called "EVA." She starts getting acquainted with the surroundings, headed by Madhubala (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar), and even falls in love with the male doctor, Gautham (Unni Mukundan). However, she learns about illegal activities regarding surrogacy and sets out to bring the perpetrators to justice, while the cops are looking for a racket that is hunting foreigners in the outside world.
Yashoda is an ambitious script as it offers a lot of twists and thrills for a normal massy brain. The problem is in the screenplay and execution. Both are bad, ohh sorry, terribly bad. The screenplay will make you accustomed to plenty of loops, illogical characters, horrible scenes, uncomfortable conflicts, and out-of-this-world heroinism. A pregnant woman can fight off easily like a normal girl, she can deceive CCTV cameras, the smart fellas who are running the place can be fooled easily, they can roam freely even after being attacked, they can't even take the girls as hostages, Dr. Gautam was a 'bloody scientist' (as he only quoted), but he has an IQ of a primary school student who doesn't know whom to love and why, and with whom to make business, Madhubala is more obsessed about beauty than fashion models and her own life, she can change life partners even before the second hand in the clock ticks on next Stop, and bla bla. How many more loops? I can't just fit enough in this short review. The first half passes without any motive, and by then you can predict the entire plot that will occur in the second half, which is referred to as "suspense."
Samantha is a good performer, and she has proven it in a few films (Mahanati, U-Turn), despite having played a simple beauty doll in many hero-oriented films. This role was a chance for her to prove her mettle as a mass heroine, and she does that, but falls short as an "actor." Her action sequences and dedication towards them are praiseworthy, but expression and acting are left behind. Please note that I am not talking about dialogue delivery because I had to see the film with horrendous Hindi dubbing. Unni Mukundan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's attitudes, which have some typical South villain vibes but are such childishly written characters, take you by surprise. Rao Ramesh, Sampath Raj, Murali Sharman, Satru, and Madhurima have done what all side role actors usually do in regular mass films.
Coming to the technical aspects, except for action directors, all the other departments are highly disappointing. The loud background score will make your ears bleed with unwanted noise, the cinematography is dull, and the editing is very poor. The visual effects in some scenes are even worse than cartoons. Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan have brought the film down with their downgraded vision and outdated presentation. Why do the characters have to behave like the 80s villains, who hardly had anything to do with the brainstorming? And the irony is, you have to show them as scientists, ministers, cops, and educated people. Who's gonna believe it? The Hindi audience used to call these films mindless a few years ago, and Yashoda is a perfect fit in that league. Overall, an ambitious and enthusiastic action thriller with no stamina, organs, or brain.

Initially I thought the movie is dragging a bit but suddenly after 30-35 min I get to know the concept behind the movie. At the interval time it's gonna shock you and 2nd half will hold it's plot nicely but could have been better in 2nd half with a powerful antagonist.
In the 2nd half of the plot I thought what childish thing is going on my screen (Small experiment with Extreme Results) but after the completion of the movie when I searched reference articles regarding this matter I literally got shocked! It's damn real and the plot is not just a concept, it's based on true incidents ; Now that's what I personally Loved about this movie.
Lastly the Acting performances of Samantha was top notch. I personally liked her silly roles as well as fighting skills. Wow top notch she was.
So overall it's a complete family package ; Green Signal for child to watch as well and I will go with 7 Out of 10 stars for it..

The movie had a good start, but later lost track. The concept looks new and experimental to Indian cinema. Somewhere I feel the concept is inspired from the Netflix series Squid game.
But the execution was very bad with a lot of loopholes and not a convincing ending.. I Was waiting for this movie and saw it on amazon prime.
I could say it is one time watchable.
Acting by Samantha was just Ok. Action scenes look like Samantha has put good effort.
Direction is below average, could have been better or executed better.
Some homework to think about the current fake cosmetic market.
Every girl should think about.

Wow simply Superb.. I didn't expect the movie to be this good. Good screenplay, story, direction, acting by some of the finest actors like Rao ramesh, Varu sarath, sampath raj etc.. and SAM is the show stealer. Initially started on a slow pace but later picked the pace. Hari & Harish directon is worth mentioning. Sam's movie selection is always out of the box kind. She really is the apt choice. Unni as usual gave his best. Movies of this kind are really needed for audience. Background score is ok. Songs could have been better. Good movie for this weekend. Will surely suggest this movie. Just go for it.

There's a big mystery behind suspicious death of Hollywood actress Olivia as well as a businessman & a model. One was assumed to be drug overdose whereas as the other two deaths as accident. But, the police find out them to be murders & Vasudev (Sampath) is assigned the case. Meanwhile, Yashoda (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) has agreed to surrogacy to earn enough money for her sister's operation. She is sent to Eva, a surrogacy center for surrogate mothers like her with top facilities. But nothing is what it seems in Eva as pregnant ladies go missing. Will Yashoda uncover the reality of Eva & expose the criminals behind it? How are the other 3 deaths being investigated related to Eva forms rest of the story.
There isn't much unique about this concept but the lackluster writing keeps pulling the film down. The director duo fail in setting up the world of Yashoda & even the investigative scenes come out as bland. The world of EVA had to be superficial but much of it fail to register here. The drama which unfolds only works in parts & much of the twists end up way too convenient including the big reveal. Samantha is good as Yashoda but she can only do so much against that writing.

Movie Story was too good , But they again added their Muslim agenda and also Direction is too poor, Why always add Name Answar falna dhimkana to always golirfy them Liberals Sale Liberals hi rhege, That's why Love Zihad are increasing day by Day,. So make movie clean and improve ur direction..Not a justice with the story line. Director not use the fully potential of the script. Smantha acting is Good. Other actors are not too conventional, We are not attached with character, . But Again saying movie story are upto the mark hopeso any other actors use this story potential and also make justice with this film.

Though they had good storyline, director could not handle it and made it look like an amateur attempt. 2 parallel stories running don't help viewers in anyway. First half is somewhat watchable but 2nd half can't be tolerated. Direction is so immature that you just laugh at the screenplay and dialogues. Better avoid and don't waste your time. I watched this movie on OTT platform and it was really a good attempt . Although few areas in the movie might resemble Squid games web series, the concept and sci fi aspect looked a new attempt. It has to be Samanthas one of the best performance. Alongside her, Varalaxmi and Unni Mukundan also did a good job. I am not sure if such things happen in real life but if it does it's a big shame on the medical professionals involved in it. The genre is mentioned as suspense. Although there is suspense revealed at the end, I am sure most would have predicted it half way regarding the identity of Samantha in the movie . Overall a pretty decent attempt.

I just watched this movie and it was FANTASTIC. There is not one negative thing I could say about this or find one plot hole. They created this movie with everything making sense and everything falling into place so fabulously and I loved the twists and turns. Samantha did an incredible job. She showed the Telugu industry that you don't need to flip cars and stop trains with your hands to show heroism. Her acting and her action scenes were awesome. We need more woman empowering movies like this! I'm just gonna assume anyone who didn't like this movie either didn't understand or thinks only hero's can kick ass because I can't see any other reason for the low scores. I totally recommend giving it a watch!

Highly recommended for Samantha fans, good effort by the team but if you're a Korean cinema fan you would know that this movie is a legit copy from all the Korean movies😂.
Good cinematography, BGM, and realistic set.
Good performance by Samantha Ruth Prabhu!
