He plays the main villain of the show, and Entertainment Weekly has the first look at his character. You can check out more first-look photos of other characters over at Entertainment Weekly.
Star Trek franchise producer Alex Kurtzman said they started seriously considering Giamatti when the actor revealed that he always wanted to play a Klingon during The Holdovers press tour. “We looked at each other and we went, ‘Is he kidding?! Well, let’s call his agent and find out,’” Kurtzman said. “Within, I think, less than an hour, [his agent] called back and said he would love to meet.”

David Dastmalchian is taking on one of his most exciting roles yet with his casting in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot. Following reports about the actor's casting in the film, Dastmalchian has officially confirmed his role.
While promoting his role in the new Paramount+ series Dexter: Resurrection, Dastmalchian was asked by Cbr's Caralynn Matassa about the Street Fighter movie following the reports of his casting. In the reports, Dastmalchian was said to be playing M. Bison, the big bad. While the actor couldn't share anything else about the movie, he verified that the reports were accurate.
As Dastmalchian said when asked what he could say about the film, "That I'm in it. That I'm playing M. Bison."

Liam Neeson is a one-of-a-kind action star who has amassed a fan following thanks to films like Taken, The A-Team, The Grey, and Wrath of the Titans. The 73-year-old actor is still going strong with an array of movies coming up next. However, one of his flops from last year has finally found success on streaming. Absolution, the action thriller directed by Hans Petter Moland, is currently topping Hulu charts.
Per FlixPatrol,Absolution is reigning at #3 on the charts after its debut on the Disney-owned streamer. It is only standing behind recent releases like F Marry Killand Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything. It seems fans are finding the movie as they binge Neeson’s work before his next release: The Naked Gun, the fourth film in the spoof franchise.
Absolution follows Neeson as an aging gangster who attempts to reconnect with his children and rectify the mistakes of his past.

The Street Fighter roster is filling up fast, and they've found some interesting names to bring these iconic video game characters to life. Street Fighter was one of the most popular fighting video games of the 1990s, alongside Mortal Kombat. With Mortal Kombat getting a new film series at Warner Bros., it was only a matter of time until Street Fighter got the same reboot treatment. Sony Pictures and Legendary Entertainment seem to be fast-tracking the film, as casting news is coming at us faster than several high-speed punches delivered to the face.
The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has joined the cast of Street Fighter as Balrog, a former boxer introduced in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and who works for the villainous M. Bison. Shortly after news of Curtis' involvement, Deadline reported that comedian and controversial podcast host Andrew Shulz had joined the cast.

“Tell me everything,” Barbara Walters used to urge her TV guests. She believed she could coax the truth out of anyone, whether revered or disgraced, and so did her viewers.
Her confidence would be challenged today when every fragment of news, even neighborhood trivia, disappears in a blur of distrust. Since viewers no longer believe what they hear, she’d wonder, might her interviewees become too constrained about what they say?
President Trump distrusts the news media so intensely he limits his announcements to his website, even when they’re nakedly bogus (“lasting disarmament”?) .
If that revered truth-teller Walter Cronkite were alive today it’s doubtful whether even he could cast a clear focus on Gaza or Tehran, on Zelenskyy or Netanyahu. Frustrated, he might even unleash AI on Ice just to see what emerges.
Media reporting on immigration purges is so distrusted that entire new layers of fact-finders have...

Barbara Walters spent 50 years on television, interviewing some of the most famous men and women in America. She had had conversations with everyone from the Kardashian sisters to the incarcerated Menendez Brothers. However, there was one Hollywood celebrity who was able to throw her off her game a bit during one of these interviews.
The recent trailer of the documentary, Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything, featured a clip of her interview with Clint Eastwood. The interview, which had a setting resembling a date, turned quite flirtatious, and Walters was seen blushing before she asked for a break. Walters died in 2022 at the age of 93.

During her storied multi-decade tenure at ABC News, Barbara Walters could always be trusted to book the high-profile interviews — and secure the exclusive scoops — that few other journalists could get. Now, a buzzy new documentary is telling us everything about the late broadcaster's own life and career, from the friends she made, the criticisms she endured and the romances that formed and fizzled in the public eye.
Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival last month, Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything launched on Hulu on Monday. Directed by Jackie Jesko, the film shows how Walters' intense drive propelled her rise to the top of the TV news game. But that ambition also led to a strained relationship with the people in her life, including her daughter, Jacqueline Dena Guber, who declined to appear on-camera.

The live-action Street Fighter movie finds its Chun-Li in a recent 25-year-old breakout star. In April 2023, it was announced that Legendary was developing an adaptation of the Capcom video game franchise with Danny and Michael Philippou, fresh off their successful debut Talk to Me, in talks to direct, though they eventually dropped out and were replaced by Kitao Sakurai in May 2025. More recently, the Street Fighter movie made a big splash by casting Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck in undisclosed roles.
Now, the live-action adaptation has added another star. According to Deadline, the Street Fighter movie has cast Callina Liang as Chun-Li. Representatives for Legendary declined to comment on the reported casting, and plot details remain under wraps.

She made her debut in the first season of the Itvx teen drama Tell Me Everything, which premiered in 2022. Liang then appeared as a young Rue Corintha in a 2023 episode of Foundation before landing the lead role in the 2024 heist thriller Bad Genius. Barbara Walters will forever be known as the television industry’s first million-dollar woman. Whether it was starting The View or being a renowned broadcast journalist in the country, the woman knew what moves to make in order to build an empire for herself. Born in 1929, Barbara Walters passed away a few years back, on December 30, 2022.
Since then, people have had a lot to say about the journalist, both good and bad. While some consider Barbara Walters to be a pioneer of her field, others don’t have that great of a perception of her. Her “transactional” relationship with one of the most despised men in the country was one reason why.

Some affairs leave lipstick traces; others leave scars on your soul. We’ve always believed ambition is a brutal mistress; it seduces you with dreams and punishes you with silence. And Barbara Walters? She has probably danced willingly with that mistress.
Everyone knows Walters as the woman who grilled presidents, made celebrities cry, and created The View. But behind the spotlight, there was a woman who once gambled with love and lost. She reportedly had an affair with Senator Edward Brooke in the 1970s. He was married. She was very aware that the wrong move could kill both their careers. They kept it quiet. Until she couldn’t. Years later, Walters admitted she was “infatuated”.

A documentary is shedding light on Barbara Walters’ early career, and it’s not the inspiring story you might expect. While she went on to become one of the most respected journalists in television history, her big break at NBC came for a surprising reason. Apparently, NBC hired her not because of her talent or potential, but solely because she came at a low cost.
Well, this was definitely a startling contrast to the legacy she eventually built, further reminding us how often success stories begin in unexpected ways. Let’s dive deeper!
The truth behind Barbara Walters’ first big break at NBC
Barbara Walters is remembered as a television legend, known for being a fearless interviewer who sat across from presidents, movie stars, and royalty. But a new documentary, Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything via USA Today, reveals that her journey to the top wasn’t as glamorous as many believed.

“Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything” is a documentary a lot like its subject. It’s sharp and inquiring in a playful way. It asks friendly questions but knows just when to toss in a tough one. It sizes up important people with clear-eyed worldly perception, but it’s also enthralled by the seductions of fame and money and power.
“Tell Me Everything” delivers the Barbara Walters story, in all its tasty fascination and significance, and it captures a great deal about Walters as a person because it refuses to be intimidated by how elusive she could be. On TV, she presented herself as a fighting mensch, someone who could disarm you with that sympathetic twinkle in her eye. Yet off camera she could be ruthless. She burned through romantic relationships as if they were seasonal shopping sprees, and one of her closest friends was the dreaded Roy Cohn. She was complicated.

It’s a familiar routine: Famous person dies and each network’s news division works quickly to cobble together (or finish off) a tribute special that answers a few basic questions — “Why was this person significant?” mostly — in a satisfying way that can be delivered within days of the death.
Tribute packages like that aren’t really “documentaries,” but they serve a valuable purpose for grieving or simply curious fans.
The problem with Jackie Jesko’s new documentary Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything, premiering at Tribeca ahead of a Hulu launch, is that for much of its 95-minute run, it feels exactly like one of those immediately posthumous overviews.
Especially in its first half, Tell Me Everything tries to emulate the iconic television journalist by guiding audiences through basic information, and eventually asking the tough questions, or at least touching on provocative issues. But it only rarely pushes deeper than hero worship.

Barbara Walters didn’t set out to become a pioneer for females in media. The legendary broadcast journalist and “The View” creator was simply trying to survive as a woman in a male-dominated industry.
“She’s mentioned in the same sentence as feminist icons, but she wasn’t a crusader. She wasn’t Gloria Steinem,” says Jackie Jesko, the director of “Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything,” which premieres on Thursday at Tribeca Festival. “She wasn’t doing it for other women. She was doing it for herself.”
That doesn’t make Walters — whose career took off at NBC as the first female co-host of “Today” and shaped history again at “ABC Evening News” as the first female (and highest-paid) network news anchor — any less of a trailblazer.
“We shouldn’t require that of our feminist icons,” the director says. “She made it possible for other women, and she loved that once she realized it,...

When Barbara Walters joined ABC news in 1976, she became the highest-paid journalist in the U.S. – pulling in $1 million a year. That, not surprisingly, triggered a lot of resentment among her peers, none more so than her evening news co-anchor Harry Reasoner.
Overcoming envy and sexism and balancing a career and motherhood, Walters reached the pinnacle of her profession and stayed there, a story explored in the new documentary Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything. A lot of children’s stories and beloved characters from children’s stories have been getting the horror treatment lately. Deadline reports that Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw, “a dark, supernatural reimagining of the Aladdin story,” is scheduled to begin filming in the UK next month.
Coming our way from Empire Studios, Every Entertainment, and 8th Law Pictures, Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw has the following synopsis: A modern-day Londoner, Aladdin, inherits an ancient monkey’s paw believed to grant wishes, only to discover that every desire comes at a soul-crushing price. If you're anything like horror queen Jamie Lee Curtis, nothing quite gets your hair standing on end like the Disney classic Aladdin and, in particular, the evil Jafar. After the Oscar winner announced her fear of the film, and given the current slate of warped horror adaptations of children's classics, it was only a matter of time until Prince Ali was given the gory treatment. Subtitled The Monkey's Paw, this horror reimagining of John Musker and Ron Clements' Disney classic is yet another in a long line of similar examples, from Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey to Mickey's Mouse Trap.

You probably know about a relatively new trend of horror adaptations of popular children’s classics. And while this isn’t something completely new, the number of such films we’ve been seeing in recent years is over the top.
And while most of these films targeted stories that were, at one point or another, adapted by Disney, the majority were actually based on popular children’s classics or fairytales. A new horror adaptation is coming up, and while there is a Disney classic retelling the same story, this one will actually be based on a very old tale.
We can confirm that the horror movie Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw will begin filming next month and we have all the details you need to know!

From Ghostface to a paranormal DJ? Deadline reports that the filmmaking team known as Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) are teaming up with Paul Giamatti for a biopic about the late Art Bell. Best known as the founder and original host of Coast to Coast Am, Bell would field unscreened calls from all sorts of people, listening to stories of alien abduction, conspiracy theories, strange creatures, and just about everything you could imagine.
According to Deadline, several studios, including Universal, Amazon, and Warner Bros., are bidding on the Art Bell biopic. Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves are writing the script. This is a bit of a different project from the team that has given us Ready or Not, Abigail, and two Scream movies, but it has the potential to be quite interesting. Plus, I could watch Paul Giamatti do just about anything.

Alien: Romulus is the ninth installment in the franchise, but it is not necessary to watch every other movie beforehand. It would likely behoove viewers to watch 1979's Alien and 1986's Aliens before the new movie, among others. Other installments such as Alien vs. Predator will be less necessary for providing context.
Viewers do not necessarily need to watch every single movie in the franchise before diving into Alien: Romulus. The new installment is the ninth overall feature in the Alien franchise, which kicked off with the 1979 Ridley Scott classic of the same name and has since gone on to spawn a variety of sequels, prequels, crossovers, and an upcoming FX television series set on Earth. The multimedia franchise, which generally focuses on various groups of humans - especially those including Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) - encountering ravenous alien monsters known as Xenomorphs, also includes comic books, novels, and video games.
