We are getting very near the end. I won't miss this series because there is sameness to each episode. Also, some of the better characters have gone by the wayside. The character of Nikki is one of the most tiresome. Her character's performance in this one is beyond stupid. She machos up as time goes along. Had a person been in the kind of accident she was in they would be in a hospital for a month.
This was as entertaining an episode of Numbers as any other, but it does contain one trope that is simply unbelievable.
TV (& movies) are constantly writing in the law enforcement character who, despite being injured, insists on returning to work regardless. Now, I DO believe there are people like that. What I don't believe is that the various agencies let them get away with it.
Not because they don't admire the macho attitude, but because those people who, like Nikki here (& I agree she's a very badly written, annoying character anyway) are back at work and worse, going out on raids, while still carrying an injury, are not only risking themselves but also their team-mates lives.
So, I think in real life, Don would have INSISTED that Nikki take time off to get fit. Because otherwise, she's a liability. I certainly hope so.
However, you can't really criticise THIS show for it. They all seem to do this at some point. You do occasionally get the 'assigned to desk duty' thing, which is better, but half the time that character still ends up out on the street before they're recovered. I suppose it's one of those things we have to tolerate for dramatic effect.
