Noah Hawley Confirms Alien: Earth Is Planned for Multiple Seasons
Image
Alien: Earth creator, Noah Hawley, has already confirmed that the first-ever TV show in the Alien universe won’t be a one-and-done series. In a chat with Variety, the showrunner shared,

Season 1 is the proof of concept. And if it works commercially, then season 2 is about building a model upon which we can envision making a season 3, 4, 5. [Alien: Earth is] designed to be a recurring series. I don’t know how many seasons that would be. I believe that endings are what give a story meaning, so I have a sense of where I’m going with it.

The FX show is set in 2120, two years before Alien, and follows a Weyland-Yutani ship crash on Earth carrying Xenomorphs and other alien species. Though Hawley didn’t lock the exact number in his mind, he is definitely stressing that the story already has a clear ending mapped out.

A Batman villain just defeated Superman in the most brutal way
Image
Jason Aaron's comic books are known for their brutality and the surprises along the way. For example, during his run of Wolverine, Aaron shocked Logan by having him meet his biological father in Hell (Wolverine Goes to Hell), and later having Wolverine kill people that he later found out were his kids (Wolverine's Revenge). It’s not shocking that this trend is continuing in Absolute Superman, despite this series starring one of the most wholesome characters in comics. But, as we’ve seen throughout the Absolute Universe, the characters in this series aren’t like their Earth-Prime counterparts.

In issue No. 9 of Absolute Superman, Kal-El was in a crisis. He started seeing people be horrible, and possibly irredeemable. This caused him to wonder if some people deserved to die. Later, after thinking about a conversation with his father in issue No. 10, he ultimately decides that killing people isn’t the way to go.

Image

But while this speculation sprung up from the Matt Murdock portrayer’s own comments, his co-star Vincent D’Onofrio has recently clarified that it’s just simply not the truth.

Recently, while talking about the upcoming season 2 in an interview, Cox referred to the season as ‘final season’, following which Giant Freakin Robot released an article titled, ‘Marvel Has Ruined And Canceled Another Beloved Superhero,’ focusing on Cox’s wording. However, D’Onofrio called it out for displaying “not the correct info.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy Die As Predator Kills The Marvel Universe
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1!There are several beloved superhero teams in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one stands above the rest as perhaps the most beloved of all: the Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately, that's not enough to save the team from the brutal slaughter they just endured in Marvel Comics.

In Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 by Benjamin Percy, Marcelo Ferreira, and Daniel Picciotto, the Yautja species have decided not only to hunt on Earth, but to claim the entire planet as their own. The only problem is that Earth is heavily defended in the Marvel Universe, so more than a few superheroes have to go, including the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Interestingly, the Guardians of the Galaxy's deaths were something of a precursor to the Predators' eventual strike against Earth, almost like a practice run before the main event. However, that...

‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ Taps ‘Color Out of Space’ Writer Richard Stanley to Pen Script (Exclusive)
Image
The third installment in the IP-slaying low-budget slasher “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” franchise is getting into bloody gear.

“Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” — first announced last year by Variety — has landed Richard Stanley as its writer, with production set to kick off in early 2026. ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment are handling sales on the feature.

The sequel comes from prolific horror banner Jagged Edge Productions, which scored an unexpected smash hit with the first “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” in 2023. Made for less than $50,000, the film became a cultural talking point for transforming A.A. Milne’s beloved bear into a sledgehammer-wielding serial killer, and earned more than $5 million at the global box office.

Jagged Edge’s Scott Chambers and Rhys Frake-Waterfield return for “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3,” with Chambers — who produced the first two films — taking over from Frake-Waterfield in the director’s chair. Frake-Waterfield this time produces.

Dale Gribble Proves That QAnon Has Nothing on the Og Conspiracy King
Image
The real-life conspiratorial world of corkboards and string that came to define Dale Gribble during King of the Hill’s original run looks a whole lot different today than during the show’s 1997 premiere. Ramblings on CIA drug experiments and organ harvesting that surged throughout the ‘90s and early aughts have been replaced by darker and more consequential conspiracies. Pizzagate, the belief that prominent Democrats ran a child sex ring out of a Washington, D.C. pizzeria, led to gunfire within the restaurant. More notoriously, baseless claims of election fraud during the 2020 Presidential Election led to the January 6th insurrection, which left five people dead and hundreds more injured.

But instead of graduating to these increasingly alarming ideologies, Dale has done what Dale does best — whatever he gottdang pleases. As his modern-day counterparts wait for Q’s latest drop, Dale marches to the beat of his own drum. And so,...

When Tony Stark reveals to Bruce Banner that the Avengers have broken up, Bruce innocently questions him, “Like the Beetles?” It generated a lot of laughs in the theatres, but that might not have been possible if Marvel’s Creative Committee stopped the Russo brothers from pitting Tony and Steve Rogers against each other in the 2016 movie.

Russo Brothers’ Team Cap vs Team Iron Man Idea Was Initially Rejected

Civil War was directed by the director sibling duo Joe Russo and Anthony Russo and featured most of the Avengers. However, Thor and Hulk were not part of the film. It featured Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye,...

An Iconic Captain is Eyeing a Return to the Star Trek Universe
Image
A veteran Star Trekwriter has an idea for the return of one particular Starfleet Captain, and it involves the Mirror Universe. It’s been 20 years since fans said goodbye to the crew of the Nx-01 and its beloved leader, Captain Jonathan Archer, and Star Trek: Enterprise writer/producer Michael Sussman has plans for a show that could unite Star Trek fans.

Speaking with TrekMovie, Sussman, who wrote 22 episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise and 10 episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, said he’s been talking with Scott Bakula about making his return to the Star Trek universe over the years. Bakula played the captain of the Enterprise (Nx-01) in Star Trek: Enterprise during its entire four-season run from 2001 to 2005. The Nx-01 is one of the most important starships in all of Star Trek, which was later redesigned into the USS Enterprise. In turn, Archer was the first-ever commanding officer of the first...

One Of James Gunn's Superman Supporting Actors Has Played The Man Of Steel Himself
Image

"Superman" features writer-director James Gunn's muse Nathan Fillion as the Justice Gang's self-appointed leader (and name decider), the hothead Green Lantern Guy Gardner. But you may have missed that the former Captain Reynolds isn't the only "Firefly" star in the movie.

Compared to previous "Superman" films, Gunn's picture features lots more of the casual sci-fi silliness of Silver Age "Superman" comics. Metropolis gets attacked by a kaiju, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) has his own pocket dimension, and Superman's (David Corenswet) Fortress of Solitude has several robot attendants.

The robots have uniform designs, but also unique voices and numbers. The lead robot is #4, but by the end of the movie, he's taken a new name: "Gary." Gary is voiced by Alan Tudyk. Since his days playing the funny starship pilot Wash on "Firefly," Tudyk has become a prolific voice actor.

Marvel's Eyes Of Wakanda's Coolest Character Is Actually A Clever Disney Easter Egg
Image
Spoilers for "Eyes of Wakanda" follow, folks. Be careful down there!

Marvel Studios has proven its willingness to play on previous blockbuster nostalgia when casting actors for their projects, as anyone who saw Robert Redford in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will attest. Cameos are another bag entirely when a lot of these stars have been around long enough to live entire alternate lives in associated projects, with Chris Evans turning up as Johnny Storm in "Deadpool & Wolverine" serving as a great example. Marvel's latest release, "Eyes of Wakanda" plays this effect on the nose, with Anika Noni Rose playing a new character with a surprising link to her Disney past. Fans of "The Princess and the Frog" are going to be pleased when they see her role in the new "Black Panther" spinoff, because it's a great Disney Easter egg.

Rose voiced Princess Tiana in "The Princess and the Frog,...

A Bizarre Hugh Jackman Wolverine 'Cameo' Was Deleted From The First Fantastic Four Movie
Image

In the early 2000s, superhero movies were on their way to becoming the dominant force in pop culture for the first time. There had previously been one-off hits such as Tim Burton's "Batman," but the success of 2000's "X-Men" put Marvel on the mainstream map for the first time, having built off the popularity of 1998's "Blade." Sam Raimi and Sony's "Spider-Man" took things to another level in 2002, and from there, it was off to the races. 20th Century Fox then followed 2003's "X2: X-Men United" with director Tim Story's "Fantastic Four," which became a solid hit for the studio. It also very nearly created a shared on-screen Marvel universe ... sort of.

Ioan Gruffudd portrayed Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in Story's 2005 adaptation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's superheroic comic book family. Jessica Alba co-starred as Sue Storm,...

Epic Universe, ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ Buoy Comcast Q2 As Company Posts Gain On Sale Of Hulu Stake
Image
Comcast saw revenue and profit grow and topped Wall Street estimates across the board for the June quarter as its stock popped in early trade. Theme parks saw a bump from NBCUniversal’s new Epic Universe in Orlando that opened in May and How To Train Your Dragon had a soaring debut in June.

The company booked a $9.2 billion one-time gain for the completed sale of its stake in Hulu to Disney.

Peacock narrowed losses on the year and the three months with the streamer at 41 million subscribers at the end of June, flat from Q1 in a seasonally soft quarter for the streamer. Love Island, which broke records, was the star last quarter. The NBA will energize Peacock in Q2 2026 after that deal starts next season.

Theme parks saw profit surge 26% to $1.7 billion on revenue up 19% to $2.3 billion. Studio profit and revenue rose, respectively, 8% and 5.3%. How to Train Your...

Netflix's 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Star Shares a Major Season 3 Update Ahead of Season 2 Premiere [Exclusive]
Image
Following the notorious M. Night Shyamalan-directed film adaptation, Netflix finally delivered the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender that fans had been waiting for, in the form of the well-received Netflix series. The series successfully brought back the heroes of what many consider to be one of the best animated shows ever made, including the ever-lovable Aang (Gordon Cormier), the wise-beyond-her-years Katara (Kiawentiio), and the cocky but good-hearted Sokka (Ian Ousley). Additionally, some of the antagonists also made a strong impression, such as the arrogant, redemption-seeking Prince Zuko (Dallas Kim), his more well-intentioned uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee), and perhaps most notorious of all, Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). With both Seasons 2 and 3 confirmed to be in the works, fans can't wait to see these characters again, and one of the aforementioned names above recently gave a big update.
