Chet Hanks, the son of actor Tom Hanks, recreated Tom Cruise‘s infamous couch-jumping moment nearly 20 years later during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
“This is my first time on a talk show ever,” Hanks told Barrymore on March 18. “And there’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. Can I do it?”
“Ok,” the host replied.
“Alright, look, I’m gonna do this, but I need you guys – it’s only gonna work if you guys cheer really loud, Ok, like, you got to scream, you got to lose your minds, or else I’m gonna look stupid,” Hanks asked the audience. “Can I count on you?”

Ashley Sutton first auditioned for Yellowjackets five years ago. The Florida native was trying to build out her acting resumé and was a huge fan of Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson’s television work (they wrote and produced on Narcos and Narcos: Mexico before creating the Showtime drama) when she got the chance to read for a small part in a then-unknown pilot. Sutton can barely remember what scenes she read, or who the character was, but she does remember laughing a lot throughout the process. “Ashley and Bart’s work is quite spooky, but they’re so funny and I really noticed that in the audition,” she says. The part never made it into the show, but Sutton kept tabs on the series: “I was quite diehard from the very beginning.”

The estate of the Notorious B.I.G. has sold a stake in the late Brooklyn rapper’s music publishing and recordings, as well as certain name, image, and likeness rights, to Primary Wave Music.
Although the deal closed just weeks after the death of the artist’s mother, Voletta Wallace, multiple reports say she was involved in nearly all of the business negotiations.
No terms of the deal have been disclosed, but the Wall Street Journal reports Primary Wave is taking a 50% share of the estate, which was valued at $200 million.
The WSJ also reported that Voletta Wallace had negotiated with Sean “Diddy” Combs to gain full control of her son’s publishing rights. Initially, the Notorious B.I.G. had a 50-50 split of his publishing with Bad Boy at the time of his passing. However, Wallace convinced Combs to increase the estate’s stake to 85% in the early 2000s,...

Blue Bloods always lived and died by its cast. The show was predicated on the bond between the various members of the Reagan family, so it makes sense that the connection between the actors was going to be crucial to selling this overriding theme to fans. Now that the show is over, though, Blue Bloods fans will have to undergo the bittersweet process of seeing their favorite actors make jumps to different shows.
Will Hochman is the first Blue Bloods star to do so. The actor, who played Joe Hill on Blue Bloods, has been cast in the prequel of the acclaimed superhero show The Boys. The specifics regarding his new character are being kept a secret, but we do know that he will be acting alongside established Boys stars like Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Chief of Staff at Bad Boy Entertainment, Kristina Khorram, has broken her silence after being named in at least three civil lawsuits alongside her former boss that involve sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, claiming that she is innocent.
Khorram, 38, worked alongside the rap mogul for over a decade and has been described by the beleaguered billionaire fashion and music icon as his “right-hand woman.” Known as “Kk,” she started working for Diddy in 2013 as a senior executive at Combs Enterprises. By 2020, Khorram was his chief of staff and had grown so close to Combs that on the day his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura first filed the lawsuit that brought his life crashing down, she was photographed alongside him in Miami.

Over the course of his decades-long music career, Drake has built quite a catalog. But The Boy has also made many enemies along his path to success. Thoughhe's dominated headlines aftertaking a big L last month when Kendrick Lamar won two Grammy Awards for his diss track “Not Like Us” (and performed the song at the Super Bowl a week later), this isn’t the first time Drake has fallen victim to a scathing rap beef. Fans might remember a series of scorching diss songs exchanged between Drake and Pusha T back over the past decade. To this day, no truce has been exchanged between the two rappers, but fans of both artists are often confused as to where it all began.

The hilarious Ike Barinholtz, who has starred in shows like The Mindy Project and The Afterparty, recently guested on David Spade and Dana Carvey’s Fly on the Wall podcast. In addition to discussing his time as a Mad TV cast member and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut, Barinholtz also revealed that he once had a memorable encounter with Farley.

This week, Disney+ releases a new kind of Star Wars series that we’ve yet to see the likes of before. That’s Star Wars: Visions. And its nine shorts are all set to release on the streaming platform on Sept. 22.
The nine standalone episodes come from seven studios: Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio, Studio Colorido, Trigger (two shorts produced), Kinema Citrus, Science Saru (two shorts produced) and Production I.G. And with that, they all bring their own, unique style to this creative endeavor that’s new to Star Wars as we know it.
Essentially, the pitch is that each studio has the chance to tell a story in the world of Star Wars using anime. The canon status of these shorts has not been 100 percent confirmed or denied, but at the moment, the show does not seem to be canon. But because of that, it gives the creators the chance...

Hideo Kojima is bringing his signature storytelling to the big screen. Following the recent announcement of Death Stranding 2 at The Game Awards, Kojima Productions has officially partnered with Hammerstone Studios to develop and produce a film adaptation of Death Stranding.
Per Deadline, Hammerstone, led by Alex Lebovici, will fully finance the film, with Kojima himself producing alongside Lebovici. Additional production support will come from Kojima Productions US, with Allan Ungar serving as an executive producer. While details on the plot remain under wraps, the film promises to expand on the Death Stranding universe, introducing new elements and characters rather than directly adapting the game’s storyline.
While video game adaptations have historically been hit-or-miss, Kojima and Lebovici are setting out to redefine the genre. Unlike the typical blockbuster-style adaptations, they promise something more intimate and grounded.

The latest Netflix crime drama series has been hailed as an “early contender” for the “best thing” you’ll see on the small screen this year. The first reviews for the series, which stars the hugely talented (yet still criminally underrated) Stephen Graham as a father who must face a horrifying situation when his 13-year-old son is accused of murder, have now emerged, and it sounds like we should prepare ourselves for something very special indeed.
Titled Adolescence, the crime drama series has now debuted with a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. M.N. Miller of FandomWire awarded the series a glowing rating of 10/10 and declared that the harrowing story will leave us all “shattered.”
“A crime thriller of extraordinary power and rare insight, Adolescence is anchored by Stephen Graham's towering performance of vulnerability. It hits with the force of a wrecking ball, leaving you shattered—yet somehow manages to piece you back together.

Dragon Ballis a 40-year-running franchise by the late Akira Toriyama. Because of its popularity and the number of years it's been running, there have been quite a few TV specials based on the series. These range from action-packed adventures featuring Goku and others to informative safety PSAs for children to take to heart.
Many of these TV specials are one-offs that have no effect on the canon or plot, but some frequently do. While a lot isn't available in the West or online to view, there's still a lot even the most dedicated fan can learn from studying. For example, some may not even be aware of this, but Vegeta has a secret younger brother.

Ben Leonberg’s debut feature Good Boy zeros in on the most anxiety enducing character of every supernatural horror movie….the family dog. Celebrating its World Premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, and staring Leonberg’s own dog in the starring role, Good Boy is shot entirely from the Pov of a dog sensing and experiencing the supernatural presence threatening to overtake his owner. It’s an ingenious angle for an overworked subgenre, and one that delivers in spades thanks to its adorable lead, and brilliant direction & editing that really sets the story directly in a dog’s world.
If you’ve ever caught your own pets staring into the corner of an empty room or suddenly freaking out at some invisible intruder, Good Boy is either going to be a bundle of relatable spooky fun, or your worst fears confirmed. And just like your own possibly-in-touch-with-the-spirit-realm pets, Indy (played by the real-life Indy,...

Buck Woodall’s five-year battle with Disney over who really created Moana looks to have come to an end, with a Los Angeles jury on Monday finding for the House of Mouse in the animated franchise dispute, at least for now.
While the panel of six women and two men determined in just under three hours that Disney and primary Moana creators John Musker and Ron Clements never saw or even knew about Woodall’s Bucky the Surfer Boy work while working on the 2016 animated hit, Woodall now has a separate copyright infringement action in the courts over blockbuster sequel Moana 2.
Right now, after a slew of internal communications and more sausage-making was revealed in documents for this trial, Disney is taking the win and leaving it at that.

We’ve all experienced the creepiness of a pet sensing something you can’t; the eerie sensation that comes when you see a dog barking in the middle of the night at an empty wall, staring at nothing, or wandering off in a hurry to chase something that seems invisible. It’s spooky enough to witness in real life, but add in some haunting horror imagery — as Ben Leonberg’s “Good Boy” does in great supply — and it becomes a foundation for one of the year’s scariest movies, albeit one that also doubles as an emotional and moving tribute to the emotional bond between people and their four-legged friends.
“Good Boy” has a simple concept that hides a laborious and inventive independent production. The film’s director, co-writer (with Alex Cannon), cinematographer, and producer, Leonberg spent three years with his wife and producer partner Kari Fischer coaching their own adorable retriever Indy,...

It's important to remember the ongoing controversial statements by the creator of the Harry Potter franchise. Cbr supports the hard work of industry professionals on properties fans know and love and the wider world of Harry Potter that fans have adopted as their own. You can find Cbr's continuing coverage on J.K. Rowling here.
While the Harry Potter series revolved around The Boy Who Lived and his fight against the Dark Lord, the supporting characters were an important part of the story. Draco Malfoy, in particular, was a great foil to Harry's character, contrasting Harry's goodness with his penchant for evil. He began his arc squarely as a villain, but became an anti-hero of sorts as the series went on.
The epilogue of the series showed all the characters, grown-up with spouses and children, and Draco was a part of that chapter. He had married Astoria Greengrass, and had a child with her named Scorpius.

The epilogue of the series showed all the characters, grown-up with spouses and children, and Draco was a part of that chapter. He had married Astoria Greengrass, and had a child with her named Scorpius.

Netflix comes up with a new trick every time its position at the top is threatened by factors beyond its control – like F1 dropping Daniel Ricciardo in the middle of the 2024 Grand Prix season. Considering how the Aussie has been the fan-favorite in Drive to Survive and the show’s de facto protagonist, it was understandable for Netflix to begin scouring the field for its next star.

However, Season 7 brings many surprises – in good ways and bad. Multiple new drivers and team principals have entered the grid, making Drive to Survive‘s latest season seem like a badly recast show with new faces filling in for the old favorites. The new players are also deemed an interesting project for Netflix as they get categorized as heroes and villains from the get-go.

The Boy and the Heron was released a decade after Hayao Miyazaki’s last film, The Wind Rises. In fact, I became aware of Ghibli movies in between this break, so when the director came out of his retirement to serve the audience with another masterpiece, I was one of the happiest people on Earth.
But as stunning and visually captivating as it is, the story felt a bit lacking and more desolate than Miyazaki’s other works. Despite its Oscar win, The Boy and the Heron could not be called Miyazaki’s best work when movies like Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, or My Neighbor Totoro.

Movies have always had a way of connecting people and communities, as well as challenging the typical norms of society. While everyone loves a classic rom-com, things go up a notch when a movie tries to break barriers by telling stories that, in one way or another, push against societal taboos, especially when it comes to love, acceptance, and identity.
Roshan Sethi’s A Nice Indian Boy is such a movie that promises to bring a refreshing take on romance by exploring a same-sex relationship, that too with a mix of traditional Indian family values. With changing times, more and more filmmakers have embraced such storylines.

‘Ghost Boy’ Review: A Haunting Look at One Man’s Long, Devastating Struggle to Come Out of His Shell
Director Rodney Ascher’s obsession with horror and mysterious phenomena takes a tragic real turn in Ghost Boy, which is based on the book of the same title by South African author, speaker and miraculous locked-in syndrome survivor Martin Pistorius.
Pistorius’ harrowing true story may be known to those who have read his autobiography, seen his TEDx Talk or listened to an episode of NPR’s Invisibilia that received some attention back in 2015. But for most of us, including this reviewer, what happens in Ghost Boy is an altogether new and unsettling experience to witness.
It begins when Pistorius is 12 and living a normal suburban life with his parents and siblings in Johannesburg. He has a certain knack for electronics but otherwise seems like your typical good-natured kid. Then one day he gets a sore throat, and from there things spiral downward until he becomes both paralyzed and entirely shut off from the world.

In January, Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren ordered Morgan Geyser’s release from Winnebago Mental Health Institute. The 22-year-old was sentenced to 40 years in a mental institution in 2018 after pleading guilty to attempted murder for the 2014 attack she carried out with her friend Anissa Weier. After seven years, Bohren decided Geyser was no longer a safety risk. However, Geyser’s discharge was halted after state health officials raised concerns about books she read at the facility and a recurring visitor. But Bohren has since decided her supervised release can proceed.

Which Deadpool Star Is Featured In Justin Baldoni’s A Nice Indian Boy? ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Justin Baldoni, the multihyphenate filmmaker behind It Ends With Us, is back with a new film titled A Nice Indian Boy. The actor-director remains ensnared in a legal maelstrom since Blake Lively leveled accusations of s*xual harassment and more against him — a controversy that swelled when The New York Times’ exposé turned the cinema realm against him.
Baldoni countered these claims with defamation suits against The Times and Lively and Ryan Reynolds, striving to enunciate his side of the story. He alleges a couple of extortion, bullying, and other misconduct, maintaining that their coercion forced his Wayfarer Studios to capitulate to the Colleen Hoover adaptation, incurring steep losses in ventures as deals soured.

There is a brief mention of suicide.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, the teenage chosen one given supernatural abilities to fight the forces of darkness. The cult phenomenon ran for seven seasons before it ended in 2003. Its spinoff, Angel, ran for another year after Buffy ended.
Buffy's big first love was Angel, the 240-year-old vampire with a soul. Buffy and Angel were star-crossed lovers. While the attraction was immediate, a vampire and the slayer dating was never going to be easy. They did their best to resist and deny their feelings for each other, but in the end, love won out. For a while, anyway.
Buffy and Angel Share Their First Kiss in Season One
When Angel first pops up in Buffy's path to warn her about the Harvest and the Master's plan, Buffy finds him to be "dark, gorgeous in an annoying sort of way.

And the winner is... the 2025 Oscars! Audiences have hailed the 97th Academy Awards as the best celebration of the movie industry in a very long time, with a large portion of the praise for the show being awarded to its host, Conan O'Brien. As the night went on, spectators took to social media to not only dish out their opinions on this year's winners but also share their thoughts on the ceremony itself. The consensus was generally positive as people united to celebrate the broadcast, lauding it as one of the greatest in the event's storied history.

While Arnold Schwarzenegger’s tryst with superhero roles has not gone too well in cinematic history (Mr. Freeze and Turbo Man), his son seemed to have a bit of better luck with genre. Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is currently the star of White Lotus season 3, reportedly auditioned for two blue-suited and red-cape wearing superheroes.
The junior Schwarzenegger joined The Boys universe as Golden Boy in Gen V, but he had reportedly auditioned for Homelander. The Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are growing closer after a romantic trip to Paris.
What could go wrong? Plenty considering that Billy Boy has a track record for sabotaging his life on a whim.
Here are four things that Billy is capable of doing to break Sally’s heart!
Billy Boy Always Messes Up
1) Billy is keeping secrets from Sally and that is not kosher. Billy is lying to her about dropping his revenge plans against the Newman family. This will cause her untold anguish if and when she finds out. If Billy does something to hurt her ex Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Sally could be propelled right back into his arms.
2) Billy can’t quite quit Phyllis. While Billy isn’t drooling over Red, neither is he willing to completely shut her out of his life.

Netflix’s Adolescence is a crime thriller of extraordinary power and rare insight, transforming into something completely unexpected by the final moments of its heartbreaking finale. The scene, anchored by a towering performance of vulnerability from the great Stephen Graham, hits with the force of a wrecking ball, leaving you shattered.
Yet, somehow, the sequence manages to piece the viewer back together. Graham, simply put, is a revelation. He is outstanding in this year’s Hulu series A Thousand Blows, embodying a powder keg of intensity — wavering between rage and tenderness — yet deeply wounded and achingly human.
I’m confident you won’t see a better performance all year.

Nearly 50 years after his final film, John Wayne remains one of the most beloved action stars in film history. His Golden Age performances won him the flattering nickname “The Duke,” and many of his titles are still beloved today. That said, with over 170 film credits, not all of his roles are necessarily good. Take, for instance, that time in the late 1960s, when Wayne swapped his acting role for a director’s chair. He teamed up with the much lesser-known Ray Kellog to create The Green Berets. On the surface, it’s far from unconventional. It’s a run-of-the-mill Vietnam War film released at the height of said conflict. Like many militaristic films, it had support from the United States government. It was even a box office hit, earning its studio over $20 million.

The Unbreakable Boy is a father’s loving tribute to his son. Based on the novel “The Unbreakable Boy: A Father’s Fear, a Son’s Courage, and a story of Unconditional Love by Scott Michael LeRette. It’s a sweet story from a dad connecting to his son. In the Jon Gunn directed feature based on the book, Zachary Levi stars as Scott, and Jacob Laval stars as Austin, a young man diagnosed with a rare brittle-bone disease and autism. Also starring Patricia Heaton, Meghann Fahy, and Peter Facinelli, who also is one of the film’s producers.
Recently, I sat down with several members of the cast and producing team behind this feel good feature. Most interesting perhaps was Peter Facinelli, Scott LeRette, and producer Kevin Downes. The trio discussed bringing the story to the big screen. Considering it’s more than just a movie for Mr. LeRette,...

Win or Lose, Pixar’s first long-format television series is funny, heartwarming, and one of the best pieces of entertainment the studio has produced in years. Yes, the little streaming series that could is that good.
Win or Lose has an engaging format — almost an anthology series — connecting each chapter just enough to view the previous one in a new light. The series captures what the studio’s filmography does best: emotional storytelling, strong character development, and universal themes that bring people, families, and audiences together.
Now, if only Pixar’s recent film entries could rise to the occasion and reach this level of creativity.
