I know its way too soon for me to say this, but I'm thinking Black Lightning could become one of The CW's best hero shows yet. That's just the vibe I got from this new trailer, which shows Jefferson Pierce struggling with the impact he can make as a school principal vs. being a superhero. I'm really digging the idea of a retired hero suiting back up, and I think any doubters are going to be pleasantly surprised when they see this show January 16th. Am I alone in my excitement? The good news for Arrowverse fans: Legends of Tomorrow‘s post-holiday return date has been set.

The not-so-super news? Supergirl, which returns on Jan. 15, will be grounded for a bit as its sister series takes over Monday’s lead-off spot.

As previously reported, the freshman superhero series Black Lightning is set to air Tuesdays at 9/8c, leading out of The Flash, starting Jan. 16.

The CW has announced that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will thus resume Season 3 on Monday, Feb. 12 at 8 pm, where it will finish up its season with nine straight episodes (landing its finale on April 9).

After days of ten second teases, a decently long trailer has surfaced for the Black Lightning tv show, and it looks dope. Mainly, I'm a big fan of the costume and the fight sequences as the Arrow-verse needs a more physical hero...although The CW has yet to incorporate this new hero into the fold.

The 100 hasn't been getting a lot of attention these days from The CW, which has already revealed several premiere announcements and mid-season return dates. Noticeably absent from the slate is the post-apocalyptic drama which will unlikely get a January slot presumably because of the network's incoming shows such as Black Lightning and Life Sentence. However, leave it to fans of The 100 to show some love and make some noise.

The CW’s latest DC Comics superhero show has finally set its start date: “Black Lightning” will debut on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 9 p.m., following “The Flash.” That means “Flash’s” regular partner, the less-successful “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” is getting bumped to another night. The modestly rated series’ new evening has yet to be announced; the back-half of “Legends” will wait until February. You can find CW’s existing midseason schedule at the bottom of this post. Premiere dates for new series “Life Sentence” and the upcoming seasons of “The 100,” “The Originals” and “iZombie” will be announced at a later date.

It’s a (rare) good week for Dean Winchester, who has two reasons to be excited during this Thursday’s Supernatural: He gets to revel in his love of Westerns for a case, plus — and this is the really good part — his pal Castiel is back from the dead. (#doublewin)

We live in an era where television has become a prime medium for comic book adaptations. While shows like Smallville existed beforehand, it was the release of Arrow in 2012 that truly helped convince networks that these properties could be financially successful on the small screen.

Two new characters are about to debut in Injustice 2.  While they're from two completely different worlds, they share one thing in common.  Lightning.

Injustice 2 is gearing up for a new wave of heroes, after the release of Starfire, Black Manta, and Red Hood.  The latest additions feature two heroes with an affinity for using lightning.  You already knew about Mortal Kombat's Raiden, but now you'll get to see Black Lightning in action too!

Fear not Mortal Kombat fans, Raiden is indeed a haus.  The gameplay trailer proves that one of the strongest characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise could easily become the strongest in Injustice 2, as well.  His combos mixed with that incredible cinematic super will likely draw a lot of gamers his way.  Meanwhile, I would've liked to have seen more from Black Lightning, but what I did see looks cool enough.

3.16 No Knock, No Doorbell

Let’s get this out of the way up front: this was an exhilarating episode of Twin Peaks: The Return that gave me chills all over. How could it not be? David Lynch and Mark Frost finally gave us, after withholding it until the sixteenth hour, what we wanted. That said, I still believe this was a weaker episode than the previous one.

For one thing, before the big payoff came,...

Marvel and DC have a successful track record releasing theatrical features, based on their superhero comic book properties, but also a great history with popular TV series including DC's "Adventures of Superman" in the 1950's...

Superheroes now seem to be everywhere in the popular media, from slotmachines at Casino Sans Depot  to video games, mobile apps and product packaging. 

But TV is getting the most action, with several superheroes, based on comic books lighting up the small screen including Netflix' solo series for Marvel's "Jessica Jones", "Iron Fist", "Luke Cage" and "Daredevil", as well as their upcoming team-up in "The Defenders". 

This September Marvel's "Inhumans" will also hit the airwaves, as well as "The Gifted", spinning-off from the "X-Men", "The Runaways" gang of super-powered teens, the action romance "Cloak & Dagger" and the "New Warriors'.

Watch your back, Archie: A guy from Veronica’s past is headed for Riverdale.

The CW teen soap has added Graham Phillips (The Good Wife) to its Season 2 cast as Nick St. Clair, Veronica’s old classmate/ex-boyfriend from her days in New York City. (EW.com had the casting news first.) Phillips will appear in two episodes next season (which debuts Oct. 11 at 9/8c), as Nick looks to make Veronica’s life a bit more complicated while her new romance with Archie is just getting started.
