One of its working titles of "Code 58" was based on old Dallas Police radio code for routine investigations before the department switched to plain-English radio communications.
Bradley Whitford had previously worked with Diana Maria Riva on eight episodes apiece of À la Maison Blanche (1999) and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006), and with Colin Hanks' father Tom Hanks in Philadelphia (1993).
