Without any grand announcements, all episodes of what many are calling “the best show on TV” have landed on the platform and if you’ve been craving the next big thing in The Walking Dead universe, your search is over.
A Surprise Arrival For US Viewers
The series that has already started receiving significant attention is ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City,’ the spin-off that refuses to be just another offshoot. It is a thrilling expansion of Robert Kirkman’s beloved comic book world and the series takes fan-favorite characters and shoves them into a New York City unlike anything seen before—isolated, decayed, and overrun with dangers beyond just the undead.

The Walking Dead has come a long way since the original days of Rick Grimes and his found family of fellow zombie apocalypse survivors, expanding into a massive TV franchise with numerous spinoff series. Although he left the show during the beginning of Season 9, The Walking Dead universe recently brought Andrew Lincoln back to the role of Rick in the sequel miniseries, The Ones Who Live. The series finally gave answers to the fans as to where Rick had been all that time and finally gave him his long-awaited reunion with Michonne, but those answers were originally meant to come much sooner. The spinoff miniseries The Walking Dead: Dead City brings back old characters and actors while introducing new cast members to further fill out the franchise. The Walking Dead: Dead City follows Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) after the events of The Walking Dead as they travel to New York City to rescue Maggie’s son, Hershel (Logan Kim). Sometime between the end of The Walking Dead and the spinoff series, Hershel has been captured by “The Croat” and brought to New York City, which is completely overtaken by walkers and anarchist gangs.
The Walking Dead's Dead City spinoff is the first direct sequel to the original show and the fifth TV entry in the franchise overall after Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead. The Walking Dead's plans for 2025 aren't quite as noteworthy as the two years prior, but there's no sign of this zombie franchise taking a headshot. Over the course of 15 years, Robert Kirkman's creation has evolved into a veritable juggernaut of television, diversifying into a catalog of The Walking Dead spinoffs. Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond ran parallel to the main show, while Tales of the Walking Dead offered a more unique, standalone flavor.
Since The Walking Dead season 11's ending in 2022, however, the franchise has been upheld by three newer spinoffs, each starring a duo from the main cast. The Walking Dead: Dead City focused upon Lauren Cohan's Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan. Daryl Dixon brought back Norman Reedus as the title character and, eventually, Melissa McBride's Carol. The Ones Who Live reunited Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes with Danai Gurira's Michonne.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently discussed what it was like returning to the role of Negan in The Walking Dead: Dead City. The series is the first sequel to AMC's The Walking Dead television series.
Speaking with Collider, Morgan talked about the upcoming second season of Dead City and fans' excitement to see Negan reunited with Lucille -- the wooden baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that Negan uses to kill his enemies. "Well, I freaked out. I didn’t realize how much I missed her, not only as Negan, but as myself," Morgan said. "Just getting to hold that damn bat again adds something to that character and the swagger and the confidence and the humor that Negan has. It’s been sorely missed."

Fans of The Walking Dead were devastated when the series concluded its eleven-season run in 2022. Their spirits were then lifted with the promise of at least three direct spinoffs that would join the previously released spinoffs: Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead.

In Season 9 of The Walking Dead, British actor Samantha Morton played Alpha, the leader of the Whisperers. From a viewer's perspective, the villains of The Walking Dead comics were the hardest to adapt, even more so than the "good" characters. The villains are iconic for their diabolical nature and unique appearances. Alpha was the last villain of The Walking Dead universe to truly scare other characters and audiences alike. It took a versatile actor to accomplish on screen what Robert Kirkman did on the page.
Morton certainly came onto The Walking Dead with an impressive filmography under the belt. The actor has two Academy Award nominations for her roles in the films Sweet and Lowdown and In America, as well as an Emmy Award for her performance in the HBO television film Longford. Her more mainstream projects include the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Whale and The Serpent Queen.

Its been almost two years since the conclusion of The Walking Dead on AMC, and during that time weve been treated to numerous spin-offs from the popular post-apocalyptic series, including Dead City, The Ones Who Live, and Daryl Dixon, all of which featured beloved fan-favorite characters returning to reprise their roles from the original show. One member of the crew we have yet to see pop back up, however, is Abraham Ford, who became a mainstay in the wasteland in Season 4, and lasted all the way up until Season 7. Portrayed by Michael Cudlitz, the former U.S. Army Sergeant met his demise at the hands of Negan, but that isnt to say Cudlitz is done with the role yet, as theres still a chance we could see him return.

The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 2, "Moulin Rouge," which debuted Sunday, Oct. 6 on AMC.
There's a word in French that doesn't have an exact English translation, but essentially describes a change of scenery: "dpaysant." Isabelle embodies this word in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 2, when everything she worked for during the outbreak crashes and burns. "Dpaysant" is the silver lining in a now hopeless situation for Daryl Dixon and Isabelle, but it also could be the reason half of Daryl Dixon's viewers tap out of the series.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon only attracts two types of viewers: Dedicated Walking Dead fans who want a new environment and fresh take on the zombie apocalypse in this world, or advocates of a potential romance between Daryl and Carol Peletier. Some fans may fall into both categories, but the distinction is still valid. Some...

The Walking Dead has produced three spinoff shows since the main show concluded, and after watching them, I believe one new character will die. Despite The Walking Dead ending in 2022, the franchise has continued through various spinoff shows, each following characters from the original series. So far, I've enjoyed each new story as they've managed to rediscover some of the magic that made the franchise so special. They all have their own individual traits and qualities that make them stand out, but The Walking Dead's spinoffs have also repeated similar storylines, making me confident about one character's death.
With the ongoing shows taking place in fresh locations, I'm not surprised to see so many new additions to the zombie series. Remember when "The Walking Dead" was the hot new show on cable? In 2010, the zombie apocalypse series debuted with an engrossing and ambitious supersized premiere. With its gritty, small-scale stories from the end of the world, the Frank Darabont-created series took the world by storm, and continued to hold TV fans in its grip for several high-rated seasons to come. Developed from a long-running comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore, the show was always destined for big things, but early fans never could've guessed just how big the franchise would ultimately get.
These days, the "Walking Dead" franchise doesn't always pull in headline-grabbing audience numbers, but it does offer a surprising breadth of stories from within the flagship show's universe. With seven shows and counting (not to mention webisodes), the "Walking Dead" property has multiplied itself faster than walkers in a city struck with Wildfire Virus back in the day.

Fear the Walking Dead is a great starting point for new viewers due to its chronological prequel status. Beginning with Fear the Walking Dead doesn't require prior knowledge of The Walking Dead franchise. Fear the Walking Dead intersects with The Walking Dead in season 4, providing further context for viewers.
Although The Walking Dead franchise began with its eponymous 2010 show, there's another series that is a better place to start when diving into this zombie world: Fear the Walking Dead. These days, a number of different TV shows make up The Walking Dead franchise. There have been spinoffs like The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Fans of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will have a chance to catch up on the series' first season ahead of Season 2's arrival in September. Thanks to a new deal AMC inked with Netflix to bring some of its shows to the platform, Season 1 of Daryl Dixon is just one of their many shows that fans will be able to binge. While Daryl Dixon lagged behind other recent spin-offs, Dead City and The Ones Who Live, the series is not going anywhere, with Season 3 in production and Season 4 expected to follow.
While all three Walking Dead spin-offs were well received, Daryl Dixon chalked up a 70% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, falling behind Dead City's 80% and The Ones Who Live's impressive 88%. However, what all the spin-offs proved beyond doubt is that The Walking Dead still has legs, and it will be shambling on for several years to come.

Danai Gurira discusses a potential Broadway musical for The Walking Dead, suggesting it could expand the franchise. The idea is still in early stages and isn't being discussed seriously, but Gurira's familiarity with both the franchise and theater could make her a perfect candidate to adapt it. The Walking Dead has explored various formats, so a musical wouldn't be surprising; it could offer a fresh approach to the apocalyptic world.
Danai Gurira has opened up about a potential adaptation of The Walking Dead as a Broadway musical, explaining her hopes for the rather different medium she thinks the franchise could expand into. Gurira recently reprised her role as Michonne in the zombie universe, giving her a definitive ending in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The spinoff saw her rescue Rick from the clutches of the Crm, reuniting with Judith and Rj after many years of their family being separated.

One of the most controversial moments of The Walking Dead came with the introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan. While the villainous character would go on to become a fan favorite and one of the stars of a new spinoff series, the way he made his entrance drove away many viewers of the show.
As fans of The Walking Dead will remember, Negan brutally killed two fan favorites upon his arrival: Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). The latter's death was especially painful for fans, given how Glenn had been such an important part of the series since the very first season. His sad death scene was also particularly graphic, showing Glenn with his head split open and one eyeball popping out. This led to a lot of criticism from fans, and Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln now says (per Empire) that the series went too far with the scene.

The main stars of America’s Got Talent have remained mostly constant. While there have been some changes, like Sofia Vergara not participating in the Fantasy League season, the four judges and host, Terry Crews, have been there for a few seasons without a break. However, some fans think Crews might be on his way out.
Here is why some people think Crew might be leaving AGT.

Daryl Dixon heads to Spain in season 3 of the Twd spinoff, leaving France behind due to Genet's threat against him and fellow survivors at The Nest. As Carol returns in season 2 focused on reuniting with Daryl, it's likely he won't return to Alexandria until the series finale. The beautiful European settings in Daryl's spinoff add depth to the show and offer a picturesque backdrop for the ongoing storyline.
There are many questions surrounding The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, but one of the biggest has already been answered before the new installment even airs. The Norman Reedus-led Walking Dead spinoff took the titular character away from his friends in Alexandria and countless other Walking Dead settlements. Netflix‘s Man on Fire is ready to turn up the heat with Yahya Abdul-Matten II as its lead. In addition to his starring role, Abdul-Mateen II is an executive producer of the project, with Steven Caple Jr. directing the first two episodes. A.J. Quinnell’s first two novels, “Man on Fire” and “The Perfect Kill,” inspired the episodic adaptation focusing on French Foreign Legion soldier John Creasy.
Denzel Washington played John W. Creasy in the Tony Scott-directed feature adaptation Man on Fire. Christopher Walken, Dakota Fanning, Radha Mitchell, and Marc Anthony round out the primary cast. Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond left open storylines for characters to potentially return in future spinoffs. Characters like Alicia, Silas, and Hope have the potential to reappear in the expanding Walking Dead universe thanks to their connections and unresolved arcs. The established characters, like Victor Strand, Luciana, and June, could have a purpose in new shows with the opportunity for redemption and growth.
The Walking Dead universe is filled with excellent characters, but many of the most popular originated in the various franchise spinoffs. Thankfully, Fear the Walking Dead's ending left many characters' storylines relatively open in case the opportunity to move between The Walking Dead's spinoffs pops up. Coronation Street's recent parody of The Walking Dead highlights the enduring popularity of the beloved franchise worldwide. The Walking Dead may have seen a decline in viewership, but its cultural impact remains strong, as shown by its appearance in a mainstream British soap opera. Despite its ratings decreasing, The Walking Dead's presence in pop culture endures, with numerous spinoffs and character comebacks keeping the franchise alive.
Britains Coronation Street featuring a parody of The Walking Dead goes to show just how popular the franchise remains 14 years after its premiere. Although The Walking Deads series finale aired in 2022, the post-apocalyptic franchise still obstinately refuses to die. Long before The Walking Dead ended, its first spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead, had already expanded the shows fictional universe as early as 2015. The Walking Dead spawned several spinoffs, and some of their episodes eclipsed the original show. Episodes like "The Grove" and "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" stood out for big shifts in storytelling and strong acting. Spinoffs that took place after The Walking Dead also make an appearance due to satisfying resolution for long-running storylines.
The Walking Dead was one of the biggest TV shows ever. The zombie drama introduced viewers to the zombie-ravaged world from Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) perspective, but things switched up as the show progressed. The Walking Dead ran for 11 seasons. Nothing was on the air quite like it, thanks to its cutthroat storytelling and a knack for killing off beloved characters without a second thought.

The Walking Dead is incomplete without Andrew Lincoln’s protagonistic character Rick Grimes. Similarly it’s hard to imagine the show without Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon, or his on-screen best friend, Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride. Over the years and throughout the episodes, these original characters have been embedded in the hearts and minds of the devout fans of the show.

The creator of The Walking Dead comics, Robert Kirkman may be a man of great imagination and invaluable talent but even legends like him often run into a roadblock in their creative journey. The resulting product often ends in a cul-de-sac that in hindsight looks as bleak as rain in the winters.

However, for Kirkman, the stars and moons aligned perfectly to ensure he fulfilled his destiny. So even though the comic genius served up a dose of X-Files-inspired drama along with his undead creation, in the end, it was his original vision that persevered and spawned a universe that is yet to die down in critical acclaim and fan frenzy.

AMC Networks’ plans to submit the zombie spinoff “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” as a limited series for the Emmys have been killed.
The cable network had announced plans to submit the six-episode spinoff, created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, for outstanding limited or anthology series at the Primetime Emmys. However, Variety has learned exclusively from two sources with direct knowledge that the show is ineligible to submit in the category.
In 2021, the Television Academy defined what constitutes a limited or anthology series, stating that the story must be resolved within its season without any ongoing storylines. This criteria affected past winners, such as the second season of “The White Lotus,” which was required to compete as a drama due to Jennifer Coolidge’s recurring character. The Accountant was an incredibly successful 2016 action thriller starring Ben Affleck, even prompting a sequel announcement the next year, but it was stuck in development purgatory for a long time. Now, however, the much-anticipated follow-up is in the works and actress Daniella Pineda is the latest star to join the cast.
Per Deadline, the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom actress, who played Zia Rodriguez, a member of the Dinosaur Protection Group, has signed on to appear in The Accountant 2. She has recently appeared in the Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation as Faye Valentine, a dishonest and bold criminal who joins the Bebop crew. She also reprised her Jurassic World role in 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion. Pineda has also done plenty of television work including The CW’s The Originals and Tales of the Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead franchise continues with successful spin-offs Dead City and Daryl Dixon gearing up for second seasons, satisfying fans' hunger for more. Past spin-offs like Fear the Walking Dead and World Beyond provide crucial context, expanding the post-apocalyptic world with diverse settings and characters. Tales of the Walking Dead, the first anthology series, may return, promising more unique stories within the expanding universe created by The Walking Dead.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale.
In some ways, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live marks the end of an era for AMC‘s long-running zombie franchise.
As fans saw in the Rick and Michonne spinoff’s sixth and final episode, the story of The Walking Dead‘s central lawman appears to have come to a satisfying conclusion (for the time being at least). Following many years in the figurative and literal wilderness, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) return home to Alexandria in “The Last Time” where Rick reunites with his daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming) and meets his son R.J. (Antony Azor). It’s the rarest of occasions for The Walking Dead: an honest-to-goodness happy ending.
Of course, The Walking Dead isn’t a big fan of endings, happy or otherwise. Though the flagship series concluded with its 11th season,...

The Walking Dead is over, but like the zombies at the heart (er, brains?) of the tale, the franchise lives on.
Clocking in at 11 seasons and 177 episodes all told, the AMC horror drama shuffled off into the afterlife, only to birth a bevy of spinoff shows, most of which center on beloved characters from the original series like the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reunion series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Beyond those continuing adventures, there are also the spinoffs without too many overt ties to the “flagship” Walking Dead, including the very first of these spinoffs, Fear the Walking Dead (also now in the grave, joined there by the two-seasons-and-out The Walking Dead: World Beyond and single season anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead).

Usher, Chelsea Muirhead (Warrior), Daniela Nieves (Vampire Academy) and Jessy Yates (Law & Order: Svu) join previously announced Willa Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell and Justina Machado in the drama series from first-time creator Zoe Robyn and veteran Carlton Cuse.

This The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Episode 1
The The Walking Dead saga was designed by Robert Kirkman and company to be like a zombie movie that never ends. No gaggle of rednecks wandering through the Pennsylvania woods drinking beer and taking potshots. No helicopter speeding off towards a Caribbean island. No nuclear weapons detonated over Louisville, Kentucky. The Walking Dead was supposed to live forever; to the credit of the show’s creative teams, it came pretty close. Eleven seasons of The Walking Dead, eight seasons of Fear The Walking Dead, two seasons of World Beyond, a season of Tales of the Walking Dead (with another coming), Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and probably more things in the tank for the future.
As for the now, The Ones Who Live is an attempt by Scott Gimple and stars Danai Gurira...
