The top 10 Disney+ series of all time (so far)
Image
These 10 series prove Disney+ is more than just childhood nostalgia.

When Disney+ first dropped, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to find. Like… how many times was I actually gonna rewatch “The Lion King”? But then they started cranking out originals — Marvel shows, “Star Wars” spinoffs, some fun revivals including a “Goosebumps” reboot show — and it finally clicked. The whole strategy is pretty simple: take the biggest franchises in the world and make them feel fresh again. And honestly? It works. And since the platform’s still on the younger side, whenever a truly great show hits, it can instantly shake up the all-time list. So here it is… my personal ranking of the 10 best Disney+ shows ever.

Top 10 all-time best TV shows streaming on Disney+:

No. 10: ‘Goosebumps’

No. 9: ‘Agatha All Along’

No. 8: ‘WandaVision’

No. 7: ‘Ms. Marvel’

No. 6: ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider Man’

No.

Adam Sandler out front to win his 1st Emmy Award thanks to ‘SNL50: The Anniversary Special’
Image
When it comes to awards, Adam Sandler is a frequent loser. But he might be about to get off the snide.

To date, the comedian and actor has lost five Emmys, three Grammys, two Golden Globes, and two Critics Choice Awards, among others. However, Sandler's Emmy losing streak is on track to end this year, as he's the front-runner to win Best Music and Lyrics, per the latest Gold Derby odds.

Sandler and Dan Bulla wrote the music and lyrics for "Adam Sandler's Song: 50 Years," which he performed during SNL50: The Anniversary Special. Jack Nicholson came out of hibernation to introduce his Anger Management costar during the February broadcast. "Let's hear it for Jack, baby," Sandler told the audience at the start of his set. "Jack made it out tonight! Love you, brother."

The lyrics of "50 Years" mention how "everyone in this room has something in common" because their lives...

Disney Marketing Shuffle: Asad Ayaz Named President of Disney Entertainment Marketing, Shannon Ryan Adds Streaming
Image
Disney is shaking things up in its marketing division as it prepares to fully integrate Hulu into Disney+, with chief brand officer Asad Ayaz and Entertainment Television marketing president Shannon Ryan’s roles expanding.

Ayaz will now serve as Disney Entertainment marketing president, overseeing marketing across studios, television and streaming and reporting directly to the division’s co-chairs Alan Bergman and Dana Walden. He will also continue to drive brand strategy under CEO Bob Iger, including leading the company’s in-house creative agencies for Disney Experiences and Disney Entertainment, Yellow Shoes and The Hive.

Meanwhile, Ryan will continue leading marketing for television content and add direct-to-consumer marketing to her portfolio, overseeing a newly integrated team across Disney+ and Hulu. She will report to Ayaz and will remain on Walden’s leadership team. Hulu marketing chief Barrie Gruner and Disney+ marketing chief Samantha Rosenberg will both report to Ryan moving forward.

‘King Of The Hill’ Season 14 Scores Best Adult Animation Premiere In 5 Years On Disney+ & Hulu
Image
Viewers flocked back to Arlen, Texas, for the premiere of King of the Hill Season 14.

The premiere episode drew 4.4M views in its first seven days of streaming, marking the most-viewed adult animation season premiere across Disney+ and Hulu in five years, per Disney.

Disney doesn’t report viewership on its titles consistently enough to make a direct comparison here, though the company has shed light on streaming performance for a few other titles over the past several years. When it does release viewership numbers, Disney tends to be inconsistent with the measurement period.

Last year, for example, the first episode of Agatha All Along drew 9.3M views in the first seven days of streaming, according to the company. Meanwhile, The Acolyte hit 11.1M views in five days. More recently, Disney reported that Zombies 4 reached 9.3M views in 10 days. However, none of these titles could help directly illustrate King of the Hill‘s performance,...

WandaVision Is Why Agents of Shield Crossover Rumor In Upcoming MCU Show Is Likely Fake
Image
Industry insider Alex Perez recently revealed, “Agents of Shield fans will celebrate a (albeit small) win” in the upcoming Vision Quest, potentially implying that the Darkhold could be a key player in the series. Since both AoS and WandaVision have their own portrayal of the book, it could be the bridge between the two. At the same time, the way that both are showcased in the series is very different.

Not only do the books look different, but it is up for debate if Agents of Shield is actually canon to the MCU. In the official timeline of the franchise, the series is not present, making its contents non-canonical and it having no place on the Sacred Timeline. With this, if Vision Quest tries to make a reference or nod to the series, it would suddenly make the show canonical, creating a lot of plot holes about where AoS lies on the timeline.

Marvel making a sequel to its most unique project, reports say
Image
The Multiverse Saga has been a thrill-ride in so many ways, expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond its horizons, allowing it to tell new stories across television, standalone specials, and even animation. It showed us all that, regardless of whether the franchise told stories on the big screen or on Disney Plus, the magic of Marvel was present.

Granted, this new four-year-long era hasn't been as smooth-sailing for the MCU as the unchallenged dominance of its predecessor (the 11-year-long Infinity Saga), but there were plenty of highs to make up for some of those lows. You know that the Emmy-winning WandaVision and its beloved spinoff Agatha All Along, as well as the likes of Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps are among the finest chapters of the McU's long story, and fans will continue to reminisce about the strength of these titles for years to come.

If the Multiverse Saga has been anything,...

Aubrey Plaza Set to Lead Heidi Fleiss Biopic
Image
Aubrey Plaza is set to portray one of Hollywood's most infamous figures, Heidi Fleiss, in an upcoming film, the sensibly titled The Heidi Fleiss Story. Per Variety, theWhite Lotus star will not only lead the project but also produce it under her Evil Hag banner. The feature will be directed by Leah Rachel, the creator behind the polarizing Netflix supernatural thriller Chambers.

Fleiss became a notorious figure in the 1990s due to a headline-making scandal. In 1993, she was arrested and charged for running a high-end ring of sex workers that catered to wealthy and influential clients, some of whom were reportedly big names in the entertainment industry. She was famously dubbed the "Hollywood Madam." Her eventual conviction on federal charges, which included pandering, money laundering, and tax evasion, led to her serving 20 months in prison.

The upcoming film, which is described as a dark comedy, is set to explore a specific period of Fleiss's life,...

Aubrey Plaza to Star as Heidi Fleiss in Upcoming Biopic From Pinky Promise (Exclusive)
Image
Aubrey Plaza’s call sheet is about to get a lot longer, as she’s come on to produce and star in “The Heidi Fleiss Story.”

Plaza will portray the infamous “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss, busted in the early ‘90s for what was said to be the world’s largest high-end prostitution ring – which implicated Hollywood, politicians and other power figures.

The project marks the directorial debut of Leah Rachel (creator of Netflix’s “Chambers”). The film hails from Pinky Promise, Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett’s production company.

Heatseeking actress and Gen Z icon Rachel Sennott co-wrote the script with Rachel and Travis Jackson. Their take on the tabloid sensation follows Fleiss before trial, scrambling around Los Angeles trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped, with the help of an aspiring young writer named Jaclyn.

Production is set for Los Angeles in the coming months.

Marvel dealt devastating blow ahead of Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Over the course of the past year, Marvel Studios has made significant progress in striving to curb its worsening reputation amongst fans and critics alike. Even the head of the studio, Kevin Feige, recently admitted that amidst the brand’s post-Endgame exposure and pivot to encompass regular Disney+ exclusives that it became a case of “quantity over quality” during the early 2020s. It certainly didn’t help matters that there was a global pandemic occurring at the same time, which put the bulk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s projects on hold and reorganized their entire release schedule. As a result, 2020 was the first year without a Marvel Studios project released since 2009.

Between this unplanned break, the glut of new Marvel content releasing on Disney+, and the lessening quality of the products themselves once they did start hitting theaters again, Marvel had a real problem on their hands. The franchise...

Eyes Of Wakanda Takes Another Step Forward For The MCU, But It Still Reveals Marvel's Cowardice
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Eyes of Wakanda."

Everyone knows that Achilles is gay. It's 2025. I don't care what Brad Pitt told you back in 2004, but we live in a different world now — a world where, when you see Achilles in a thing, you should know to immediately start looking for the queer rep. So that's exactly what I did when I saw the famous Greek hero pop up in episode two of Marvel's new "Eyes of Wakanda" animated series.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Achilles and queer storylines go hand in hand. But the MCU? Sort of the opposite. Yes, we all loved "Agatha All Along," which is probably the most explicit, canonical, interesting queer representation in the franchise to date. But other than that, Joe Russo's cringy cameo in "Avengers: Endgame," and a few pride pins that you have to squint to see? It's slim pickings.

Variety's Ranking Of Over 50 Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies And TV Shows Is Dividing Opinions
Image
Between movies, TV shows, and animated series, there have been over 50 Marvel Studios projects since Iron Man blasted onto our screens in 2008.

Ranking them is no easy feat, but Variety has taken a crack at it, and the results have proven hugely divisive. Moon Knight was worse than Echo and Captain America: Brave New World? The Fantastic Four: First Steps is beneath The Marvels and Ironheart? And wait, Avengers: Endgame is the best MCU movie over Black Panther?!

Some of you might agree with those decisions, but you can still probably see why this list has split opinions.

Looking back at these movies and TV shows, it's wild to see how far Marvel Studios has come since Phase 1 culminated with what was then the biggest superhero movie of all-time: The Avengers.

Ultimately, everyone's ranking is going to differ, and one person's favourite movie or TV show could be someone...

Every Upcoming Marvel TV Show Headed to Disney+
Image
Over the last two years, Marvel’s television slate faced a whole lot of shifting, followed by an entire revamping of its structure, and it seems to have finally found its groove. And there’s still quite a few shows on the horizon.

According to Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum, the studio is now “thinking about television really more like traditional television” — which in some cases means multiple seasons. “Loki,” “Daredevil: Born Again” and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” are so far the only series to get more than one, though Winderbaum offered hope for “Agatha All Along” and “Hawkeye.”

In the meantime, it’s hard for anyone to keep track of all these series in their head. So, we went ahead and compiled a list for you of every confirmed Marvel TV show currently in the works to premiere on Disney+.

Below, you will find all the information we have...

James Gunn Reveals 'Teen Titans' Dcu Film Doesn't Have a Script
Image
Fans excited about the Dcu take on the Teen Titansare bound to be disappointed by the latest update from DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn. It was recently confirmed that Ana Nogueira would be penning the script for the Dcu's Wonder Woman. However, Nogueira is not only the writer for the upcoming Supergirl film, but was also hired to pen a script for Teen Titans back in September 2024. This led many to believe that Nogueira got the gig for Wonder Woman following how much both Supergirl and Teen Titans scripts must have dazzled DC Studios.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Teen Titans script is nowhere close to being finished. Gunn said, via Threads, that the script forthe film "does not exist. She's been on WW for a while." Even though the news just broke that Nogueira was working on Wonder Woman just a week ago, Gunn implies that she has been...

Agatha All Along season 2 gets a disheartening update
Image
There is no doubt that Jac Schaeffer is one of the reasons Marvel Studios’ shows on Disney Plus went from something experimental to a must-have. She started the run with WandaVision, and everyone fell in love. The show wasn’t just funny; it made people think differently about love and power and what people will do with and for both.

Within WandaVision came Kathryn Hahn’s brilliant performance as the super-powerful and long-living Agatha Harkness. Hahn has been a star forever, but the platform of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brought even more eyes to her incredible talent. As she and her character were so beloved, Marvel greenlit spinoff Agatha All Along with Jac Schaeffer. And, shocking to no one, it was a hit.

Agatha All Along combined phenomenal storytelling with equally as good acting, representation, and songs. It’s no wonder that people want more of it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Streaming Ratings: ‘Squid Game’ Jumps Back to No. 1 With Final Season
Image
The final season premiere of Squid Game put the Netflix hit back at the top of the U.S. streaming charts — though with smaller numbers than it had for the show’s most recent run.

The final full week of June also brought another record for Love Island USA and the premiere of The Bear’s fourth season, which like Squid Game opened with lower but still solid viewing figures.

Squid Game racked up 3.2 billion minutes of viewing in the United States for the week of June 23-29; the Korean thriller’s third and final season premiered on June 27. That’s down from 4.92 billion minutes for the week of season two’s premiere in late December, which had an extra day to accumulate viewing time since it debuted on a Thursday rather than a Friday as the final run did (debuting during the holidays probably helped season two some as...

Sacha Baron Cohen shows off his muscular Mephisto makeover
Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Kat Dennings, Kathryn Hahn, Randall Park, and Teyonah Parris in WandaVision (2021)
Fans expected him to appear on WandaVision. He was referenced on Agatha All Along. But it wasn’t until Ironheart that the extra-dimensional demon character Mephisto, “a devil who presents Faustian bargains to hero characters,” made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, brought to life on screen by Sacha Baron Cohen, the actor and comedian who’s best known for playing Borat. Deadline reports that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said there are big things ahead for Mephisto, who will be prominent as the next MCU supervillain – and Baron Cohen is ready for action. While preparing to play Mephisto on Ironheart, he reached out to Matthew McConaughey to get the phone number of a personal trainer who might be “capable of getting an actor buff and shredded in a hurry.” McConaughey got Baron Cohen in contact with Alfonso “The Angry Trainer” Moretti. The result of the work Baron Cohen put into...

"The Potential Is Clear": Kevin Feige Teases Mephisto's MCU Future & Addresses Thanos Ties
Image
Mephisto's future with the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets addressed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. After an endless amount of speculation, the MCU timeline finally brought one of Marvel Comics' most powerful villains to life in 2025, with the arrival of Mephisto in the Ironheart TV show during episode 6.

Portrayed by Sasha Baron Cohen, who brought the famous supervillain into the franchise, the MCU has just scratched the surface with Mephisto after only a single episode of television. With Mephisto being in the MCU, the natural question is what is next for him after his Ironheart debut, especially after his deal with Riri Williams.

As Mephisto's future with the MCU has just started, GamesRadar was recently part of a press conference where Feige finally spoke more about Cohen's character. Kevin Feige responded with a straightforward "yes" when asked if there were plans to use the character more in the future,...

Major Marvel star's Avengers: Doomsday return leaks unexpectedly
Image
There is very little disputing it: Avengers: Doomsday will be the cinematic event of 2026. Oh, there will undoubtedly be some stiff competition for that title, from the movie that will share its own release date Dune: Messiah to fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe juggernaut Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but it's clear that the upcoming Avengers reunion has all the makings of a villion-dollar phenomenon.

As Marvel Studios continues to recalibrate ahead of the Multiverse Saga's conclusion, buzz for the upcoming film is continuing to grow. Ever since the studio unveiled that initial cast list, fans have been anticipating all of the surprises and returns - surprises and returns that have and have not been announced. And with that, the speculation for who could still be involved remains at an all-time high.

However, it sounds like one major comeback that was not previously announced may have been spoiled.

‘WandaVision’ Spin-Off ‘Vision Quest’ Gets Major Update Amid Cries for ‘Agatha All Along’ Season 2
Image
Marvel Studios’ third WandaVision spin-off is almost ready to move into post-production. After production designer Will Hughes-Jones teased that an unnamed Marvel project would wrap filming in July, it has now been confirmed that Vision Quest is the series that will wrap next week after months of production at Pinewood Studios in London. The series will mark Paul Bettany’s long-awaited return as Vision, continuing the story that began in the WandaVision finale, where the “White Vision” was rebuilt with no emotional memory of his past life.

While Marvel has yet to confirm a release window, the latest update means the series is one step closer to becoming a reality on Disney+, likely during the 2026 release slate. Fans of WandaVision and its first spin-off, Agatha All Along, now have another series to start looking forward to, as Vision Quest promises to explore the themes of identity and self-discovery that mirror...

Marvel to 'revive' cancelled project in a new format, reports say
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has endured a major amount of change in the past half-decade. It all really started in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, when the Avengers' victory over Thanos came with some very extreme costs. And as the Marvel Studios franchise moved on from the Infinity Saga to the Multiverse Saga, that changed just continued to expand and evolve.

But with that experimental phase of relying on both movie and television, the MCU began to expand too rapidly, with fans finding it hard to keep up with all of the titles or simply not enjoying the overexposure to their favorite franchise. The studio has since recalibrated, changing things up after a number of missteps resulted in some underperformers. In order to do that, it reportedly had to cancel a number of projects that were in the early stages of development.

That said, Marvel is now reportedly open to the idea...

A complete history of Marvel TV shows at the Emmys: ‘Agatha All Along’ earns 3 nominations
Image
In 2013, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. became the first Marvel Television series developed to be part of the sprawling MCU. In the two decades since, more than 20 shows from the company have graced the small screen, all with varying degrees of success among fans, critics, and on the awards circuit.

In fact, six of the series have won Emmy Awards, and more could follow in their footsteps this year.

To date, WandaVision (2021) is Marvel's highest achiever at the Emmys, earning 23 nominations and three wins for its costumes, production design, and music & lyrics (for the "Agatha All Along" song). The limited series, which reunited Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany's Vision from the Avengers movies, was so popular that it spawned a spin-off series, 2024's Agatha All Along.

The spooky comedy-dramed follows Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness as she traverses down the Witches' Road with a gaggle of sorceresses. The...

Key Scarlet Witch Character Reportedly Returning To The MCU In Upcoming Marvel Movie
Image
Agatha All Along's Wiccan may soon be back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Joe Locke is potentially eying his Marvel Studios film debut. One of the big takeaways from the MCU timeline in 2024 was the reintroduction of Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan, as Locke brought the character back into the franchise through Agatha All Along.

Image
After The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters next week, it's going to be a long wait for the next MCU movie. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for July, while Avengers: Doomsday isn't heading our way until December after moving from its original May release date.

Full Breakdown of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys Nominations: ‘The Penguin’ Leads with 17 Craft Nods
Image
“The Penguin,” HBO’s limited series set on the gritty streets of Gotham as Oz Cobb (Colin Farrell) climbs through the ranks of the criminal underworld in the power vacuum left after the end of Matt Reeves’s “The Batman” film, led all Emmys craft categories July 15 with 24 total nominations and 17 in craft categories. Next was “Severance” (Apple TV+) with 14 craft nominations from its total of 27. Then “The White Lotus” (HBO) with 12. The series with double-digit craft nominations was rounded out by “The Studio” (Apple TV+), with 10 craft-focused nominations out of its total haul of 23, the most for any freshman comedy series.

After that, nominations were spread out among Emmy hopefuls: “Andor” (Disney+) and “The Last of Us” (HBO) each received nine; “Black Mirror,” (Netflix), “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” (Netflix), and “Hacks” (HBO) all received seven; “House of the Dragon” (HBO) and “The Righteous Gemstones” (HBO) both...

2025 Emmy Nominations: Winners and Losers
Image
The 2025 Emmy Nominations had seemed rather dull leading up to nomination morning, which, of course, meant we were in for a few surprises. Lo and behold, they came early and often. Below, we’ve got some of the big players and who really missed when it mattered most.

2025 Emmy Nomination Winners and Losers Winner: HBO

A massive haul for The Penguin helped lead the way for the multi-media TV network to secure a total of 142 nominations. This jumps the network up fifty nominations for last year, and even better news, they scored some truly inspired nominations. Alongside The Penguin, Hacks picked up 14 nominations, The Pitt picked up double nominations for Directing and Writing on its way to 13 nominations, and The Rehearsal picked up nominations. Even with underperformance from House of the Dragon and Dune: Part Two, the network was still able to secure 23 total programs with at least one nomination.

Emmys’ Music Nominations: Father-Daughter Duo Thomas and Julia Newman Make History; Hans Zimmer Could Finally Score a Win
Image
A father-daughter composing team was nominated, Hans Zimmer could win his first Emmy, and a music supervisor was nominated for three different shows — just some of the surprises among nominations for the 2024-2025 Emmys unveiled Tuesday morning by the Television Academy.

Thomas Newman and his daughter Julia Newman were nominated for their music for Netflix’s miniseries “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” a first in Emmy history for a two-generation, same-family collaboration on a single television score. And in another musical-family story, Oscar and Emmy winner Michael Giacchino’s son Mick Giacchino was nominated for his original music for HBO’s “The Penguin.”

Zimmer, who has two Oscars and four Grammys, has never won an Emmy but could this year with his nomination in the documentary music category for NBC’s “The Americas” (shared with fellow composers Anze Rozman and Kara Talve).

Music supervisor Gabe Hilfer dominated the...

Emmy Nominations: Disney+, Peacock & Apple Pick Up Steam As Broadcast, Amazon & FX See Declines
Image
The numbers are in and there are some winners and losers when it comes to today’s Emmy nominations.

As Deadline reported, HBO scored a record haul of 142 nominations, besting Netflix, which still secured 120 nominations, well up from its 107 last year, and Apple added to its pile from last year.

Elsewhere, there are some interesting numbers for the likes of Disney+ and Peacock, while FX was never going to replicate last year’s outsized success, and there’s another fall for the overall numbers for the broadcast networks.

Disney+ grew from 19 nominations last year to 28 this year thanks to a haul from Andor as well as some love for Agatha All Along and some documentaries including Beatles ’64.

FX couldn’t replicate last year’s success, which saw series such as Shōgun take it to a record haul. It dropped from 93 nominations to...

Today's a Sad Day for Agatha All Along Fans
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe was all but shut out at this year's Emmys. Four years after WandaVision earned some major nominations, Agatha All Along just barely squeezed her way into this year's competition.

While Agatha All Along managed to score three Emmy nominations, the MCU show was completely shunned in all the major categories that WandaVision was nominated for back in 2021, albeit for its respective Limited Series or Anthology categories. Agatha All Along was submitted as a comedy series instead of a limited series by Marvel, leading many to speculate that future seasons may be on the way, which meant that it had tougher competition. Ultimately,Agatha All Along was nominated for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour).

Created by Jac Schaeffer, Agatha All Along picks up three years after the events of WandaVision, focusing on...

HBO Lands Its Most Emmy Nominations Ever, Sailing Past Netflix, Helped By ‘The Penguin’, ‘The White Lotus’ & ‘The Last Of Us’
Image
HBO and its streaming service HBO Max smashed past Netflix to once again lead the number of Emmy nominations, thanks to hauls from shows including The Penguin, The White Lotus and The Last of Us.

The Warner Bros. Discovery network scored 142 Emmy nominations, compared to 120 for Netflix.

This marks the most Emmy nominations HBO has ever received in a single year, beating its previous total of 140 in 2022. Last year, it received 91 and was behind Netflix and FX.

It was helped in large part by major hauls from The Penguin, which landed 24 nominations – the second most of the year behind Apple’s Severance, which got 27, The White Lotus, which checked in with 23, and The Last Of Us, which got 16. Hacks helped with 14 nominations and The Pitt looked after 13 nominations.

New 'Tron: Ares' Images Tease Evan Peters and Gillian Anderson's Villains
Image
New images from Disney's Tron: Areshave entered The Grid… the Instagram grid, that is. The snaps caused quite a stir on social media as they turned the spotlight on two of the film's major villainous characters, who threaten to be even more evil than Jared Leto's titular antagonist in the highly anticipated third installment of the groundbreaking Tron franchise. Marvel favorite Evan Peters and The X-Files leading lady Gillian Anderson both feature in the photos, offering a better look at their roles as Julian and Elisabeth Dillinger, respectively.

Fans of the Tron saga will recognize the Dillinger name. Ed Dillinger (David Warner) was the ruthless head of Encom in Disney's 1982 film, while his son, Ed Jr. (Cillian Murphy), made a cameo appearance in the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy. The Dillinger dynasty will live on in the third feature, Tron: Ares, as Peters steps out as Julian, a new addition to the family lineage,...

Emmy Nomination Predictions 2025: How Will They Find Room for All Those ‘White Lotus’ Actors?
Image
Past winners like “Hacks” and “The Bear” will battle newcomers like “The Studio,” legends will be bypassed in favor of upstarts, and “The White Lotus” will try its best to hog the supporting actor and actress categories one more time.

That’s the outlook for the 77th Primetime Emmy Award nominations, which will be announced on Tuesday morning by Harvey Guillen and Brenda Song. With the number of entries in many categories slipping for the second year in a row, Television Academy rules dictate that the number of nominees will also drop, leading to pitched battles for the remaining slots and inevitable cries of “Snub!” when the nominations are revealed.

Our stab at prognostication suggests that “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Hacks,” “Shrinking” and “The Studio” will all do well in the marquee comedy categories; “The Pitt,” “Severance” and “The White Lotus” will be among the most-nominated dramas; and that “Adolescence” will top “The Penguin,...

Joe Locke Just Shared a Big Movie Update - And It’s Exactly What Heartstopper Fans Hoped For
Image
Netflix's Heartstopper movie gets an encouraging update from star Joe Locke. Based on Alice Oseman's webcomic of the same name, the fan-favorite teen dramedy has so far run for three seasons. It tracks the blossoming love story between Charlie (Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor), as well as the trials and tribulations of their teen years.

In lieu of a fourth season, Netflix has greenlit a Heartstopper movie that will bring the story to a close. Filming began back in June, with Oseman providing updates on its progress on social media. It is assumed most of the core cast will return alongside Locke and Connor.

Speaking with BBC News to share the announcement of his West End debut, Locke provided his own update about the Heartstopper movie. He revealed where the movie is in the filming process and shared his own brief thoughts on the ending itself, saying:

Rumor: Marvel Studios' Plans For Mephisto Revealed, Along With Big Updates On Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, More
Image
In the season finale of Ironheart, Marvel Studios finally introduced the McU's version of Mephisto. Played by Sacha Baron Cohen, he was revealed as the one who'd given Parker Robbins his Hood and ultimately acquired Riri Williams' soul in exchange for the resurrection of her long-dead best friend, Natalie.

The series ended with a post-credits scene suggesting that Parker planned to seek Wong's help to regain what he'd lost, and The Cosmic Circus has now shared some insights into what all this might be leading to.

According to their sources, the idea is to eventually adapt "Damnation," a 2018 storyline revolving around the Midnight Sons. That iteration of the team was comprised of Blade, Ghost Rider, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Moon Knight, and Doctor Voodoo.

During the 4-issue event, Mephisto took over Las Vegas, creating Hell on Earth. In doing so, he transformed the Avengers into his demonic, Ghost Rider-like slaves,...

Joe Locke Set For West End Debut After Wrapping ‘Heartstopper’ Film This Fall
Image
After making his Broadway debut last year, Joe Locke is taking his performing prowess to London’s West End, where he will star in Clarkston, Samuel D. Hunter’s play about two 20-something men from opposite ends of the U.S. who meet while working at a Costco in small-town Washington.

“I’m thrilled to be making my West End debut in Clarkston,” the actor said in a statement, per Playbill. “Samuel D. Hunter’s writing is so deeply human and honest that I immediately connected with the play when I read it. I can’t wait to bring this beautiful story to life and share it with audiences in London.”

The play, which has been previously staged stateside beginning in Dallas in 2015, will mark its inaugural U.K. showing later this fall, after Locke has wrapped filming on Netflix’s Heartstopper film, which serves as a closer to the popular LGBTQ+ rom-dramedy YA series.

‘Severance’ Leads the Nomination Pack for the 2025 TCA Awards
Image
The Television Critics Association is putting its chips on “Severance.” The second season of the Apple TV+ original scored a total of five nominations for the organization’s upcoming awards, more than any other single program. Those honors included Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Drama and three Individual Achievement in Drama nominations for Britt Lower, Adam Scott and Tramell Tillman.

There were four series that scored four nominations each: HBO Max’s “The Pitt,” HBO Max’s “Hacks,” Netflix’s “Adolescence” and Apple TV+’s “The Studio.” After those series, the most nominated programs were CBS’ “Matlock,” Disney+’s “Andor” and HBO’s “The Rehearsal,” which secured three nominations a piece.

On the network and streaming side, HBO led the pack, but Netflix wasn’t too far behind. Between HBO and Max originals, the Warner Bros. Discovery brand secured 22 nominations to Netflix’s 18. This ranking isn’t especially shocking.

‘Severance’ leads Television Critics Association Awards nominations with 5
Image
Severance is very much in(nie) with the Television Critics Association. The Apple TV+ drama topped Wednesday’s 41st TCA Awards nominations with five bids.

Its nominations haul includes Program of the Year, drama series, and triple bids in Individual Achievement in Drama for Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and Tramell Tillman.

Four shows are tied with four nominations apiece: Adolescence, Hacks, The Pitt, and The Studio. All four plus Severance will compete in Program of the Year alongside Andor, The Rehearsal, and The White Lotus.

Last year, TCA dropped down to six slots per category after expanding to eight in 2021, but it has now reverted to eight. No reason was given for last year's or this year's change.

There was also unprecedented double-dipping last year by three shows — Baby Reindeer, Ripley, and Fargo — which were nominated in both drama and limited. There is no such case this year.

In drama series,...

Marvel confirms major MCU casting we've been waiting for
Image
There has been a lot of discourse regarding the overall quality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in recent years, but even then, it can't be denied that the superhero giant has consistently excelled in one particular aspect since its inception: The live-action castings. Just recently, Lewis Pullman and Florence Pugh made waves for their outstanding performances as Sentry and Yelena in Thunderbolts*, Kathryn Hahn stole the spotlight in Agatha All Along, and Channing Tatum finally had the chance to shine as Gambit during Deadpool & Wolverine. Fortunately, this is only the beginning.

Many new heroes and villains are about to make their MCU debut in the upcoming years. Wonder Man will have his own Disney Plus series, Doctor Doom will be positioned as the big bad of the Multiverse Saga, and Marvel's First Family will finally make their (third) live-action debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. To say fans...
