Actress Sydney Sweeney Will Be The Next Bond Girl?
Image
The James Bond movie franchise is alive and well, and there’s a possibility that Sydney Sweeney will be the next Bond girl. There’s always a Bond girl, and in No Time to Die, Madeleine Swann, portrayed by Léa Seydoux, was the chosen one. Read on for more information.

Why Sydney For The Role?

On Saturday this weekend, The Sun US revealed that there’s a good chance for Sydney Sweeney to land the role. Bear in mind that these days, the Bond girl isn’t necessarily a distressed, helpless woman who needs saving. Moving with the times, strong actresses play the roles of antagonists, mistresses, and villains. Can anyone forget Famke Janssen (Xenia Onatopp), who killed men with her thighs?

Sweeney is friendly with Denis Villeneuve – The Late Show With Stephen Colbert – YouTube

It helps that Sydney Sweeney knows Denis Villeneuve the new Bond director as a friend.

Bezos Earth Fund, Water.org Team on $10M Effort to Improve Safe Water Infrastructure (Exclusive)
Image
The Bezos Earth Fund is giving a $10 million grant to Water.org to improve water systems in developing countries that are disproportionally impacted by climate change, the organizations announced Thursday. The funding aims to reduce water and energy waste and create lasting infrastructure for 20 million people

“Improving and expanding the ability of local utility providers to deliver safe water and improved sanitation services is critical to helping people living in poverty build resiliency to the effects of climate change like water scarcity, droughts and floods,” said Matt Damon, co-founder of Water.org, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “In partnership with the Bezos Earth Fund, we’re dedicated to solving the water crisis, which is inextricably linked to the climate crisis.”

In their joint announcement, the organizations explain that purifying and pumping water requires a significant amount of electricity and it’s often exacerbated by leaky utility pipes, which waste...

Frontline PBS Doc: What Went Wrong With Elon Musk's Twitter Takeover
Image
Partway through Elon Musk’s Twitter Takeover, the new Frontline documentary from filmmakers James Jacoby and Anya Bourg (Amazon Empire: The Rise and Reign of Jeff Bezos), former Twitter employee Yoel Roth states, “No one should have that kind of power. But that power exists.”

Roth’s statement comes in response to Jacoby questioning Twitter’s 2021 decision to suspend the account of then-President Donald Trump after several of Trump’s tweets were flagged for inciting violence during the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. According to the documentary, it also served as catalyst for Elon Musk’s decision to purchase the far-reaching social platform and remake it in his own image.

From Bezos To Billie Eilish: Who Was On The Guest List For Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party
Image
Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party took place Sunday at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. I have all the details from inside the event, which as usual attracted the most elite of the Hollywood set who poured in after watching Everything Everywhere All at Once score seven Oscar trophies including Best Picture.

We managed to get our hands on the guest list for the event, held in a 3,000-square-foot indoor reception area, with additional courtyards and other outdoor lounge spaces. The main bar, a prime gathering spot, was 40 feet long. The guests danced into the early-morning hours.

Amazon Prime's ‘Bezos: the Beginning’ Shows Us Jeff Bezos as a Real Person
Image
‘Bezos: the Beginning’ is a made-for-television movie now available for streaming on Amazon Prime and Google Play. It details the rise, trials, and tribulations of Bezos’ early life in his attempt to start his now titanic e-commerce company. We witness Bezos (played by Armando Gutierez) start out as an endearing yet unconfident VP of a hedge fund company, then transition to creating an entirely online startup for purchasing books, then the polishing and repolishing of the idea of Amazon until it bears some semblance of how we know it today. I was surprised that a biopic about his life hadn’t been made yet. To any given American citizen, Bezos is a wealth of mysteries and secrets. He represents our current economic system at its most extreme, and is as famous as any other famous tech giant. Surely someone would have tried to make a film about him in the...
