Tom Cruise's bloody scene in Interview with the Vampire earns a glowing review from VFX artists. Released in 1994, director Neil Jordan's gothic horror adaptation of Anne Rice's 1976 novel follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) as he recounts his life to journalist Daniel Molloy (Christian Slater). Cruise stars as Lestat de Lioncount in Interview with the Vampire, the vampire who is responsible for turning Louis into a vampire himself in 1791. One particularly notable sequence in the movie features Lestat morphing into a more monstrous form after getting his throat slit.
The VFX artists at Corridor Crew, including Sam Gorski, Wren Weichman, and Jordan Allen, now take a look at Cruise's bloody throat-slitting scene in Interview with the Vampire, praising the sequence for its inventive visuals. Sam praises the sequence as being "more subtle than I thought it would be," with Wren then going on to...

Alexandra Daddario once made a rookie mistake — telling a Friends alum that movie actors were simply better. Now, she still regrets it. Young and overconfident, she had no idea how the industry really worked. Years later, she cringes at the memory, realizing how wrong (and unintentionally rude) she sounded.
Alexandra Daddario in True Detective | Credits: HBO
Hollywood doesn’t play favorites between TV and film, and Daddario has learned that the hard way. Safe to say, she won’t be making that mistake again.

During an interview with Elle, Daddario alluded:

The Mayfair Witches season 2 finale, "Into the Woods," certainly saw a lot go down. There was a big and major death, a key character is leaving (we think?), and Rowan has now been changed, possibly forever. As far as finales go, I think it was a really good one! So is there more to come?
At the time of this writing, AMC has not revealed whether a Mayfair Witches season 3 is happening. The Anne Rice series has been a bit hit or miss with fans, especially those who have read the author's books and can't help compare the novel to the adaptation. I do agree that the series is messy and need some work if it does continue.
Though I do think the story could be written much better, there actually is more to tell and explore. Plus, Anne Rice's universe has become pretty established at the network, with Interview...

Amazon has a dark new horror-action series coming this April, featuring Kevin Bacon in the lead role as a revived bounty hunter assigned to work for the Devil. The streamer just released a full-length trailer brimming with campy demonic violence, bloodshed, and several f-bombs. The Bondsman might be the perfect show for anyone missing The Boys or Evil Dead. Watch the official red-band trailer above.
According to the Prime Video description, Bacon's character, Hub Halloran, was a real sinner in life before he bit the dust. Something he did before shuffling off the mortal coil sent him straight to Hell, and his only path toward redemption is to trap and kill escaped demons. As he prowls the earth for the sulfur-reeking baddies, Hub slowly learns what happened in his life to set him on this fire-and-brimstone-laden road. Editor's note: The below interview contains spoilers for the Mayfair Witches Season 2 finale. After a whirlwind of a season, Mayfair Witches has finally wrapped up its return installment with "The Innocents," an episode that manages to feature a lot of twists, turns, and unexpected deaths — and, in the case of Lasher (Jack Huston), at least one resurrection before seemingly meeting a more definitive fate. With the Scottish Mayfairs having unveiled their real plan — to kill all the Taltos children born to Lasher and Emaleth (Henessi Schmidt) and steal their power — it's up to Ciprien Grieve (Tongayi Chirisa) and the Talamasca to get them out of harm's way while Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) faces off with her very own family.

AMC‘s Anne Rice Immortal Universe just dropped its biggest Talamasca teaser yet during the Mayfair Witches Season 2 finale on Sunday, March 2. The TV universe’s Twitter/X account dropped a short video teaser featuring a URL (talamas.ca) that leads to a “surveillance” site monitoring characters from Interview With the Vampire, Mayfair Witches, and The Talamasca. But one video, in particular, is the only footage that’s glitching. Is this a hint that Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) is the Interview With the Vampire character who will be appearing in The Talamasca, like executive producer Mark Johnson teased at New York Comic Con? In Rice’s books and the AMC universe, the Talamasca is the supernatural watchdog agency that keeps tabs on the vampires, witches, and other occult creatures to prevent the human world from discovering their existence. The Talamasca series is gearing up to debut in 2025, and the Immortal...

‘Mayfair Witches’ Showrunner Unpacks Finale Fates, Talks Anne Rice Crossovers and Hopes for Season 3
[This story contains major spoilers for the Mayfair Witches season two finale.]
For Rowan and the other Mayfair witches, the events of the AMC series’ season two finale signal that the game is on, says showrunner Esta Spalding.
As fans saw on Sunday night, with the help of Ciprien (Tongayi Chirisa) and others, Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) succeeds in taking down the Scottish Mayfairs — headed up by Cortland’s (Harry Hamlin) brother Ian (Ian Pirie) — after they kill Lasher (Jack Huston) for the power of his blood. While Rowan is able to save Lasher, once in the fight to stop Julien, the other Mayfairs and save his children with Emaleth (Henessi Schmidt), he is felled.
In the lead up to his death, Julien’s intentions behind the sacrifice of both of his sons as well as Lasher come into starker focus, as does Julien’s necessity for Rowan and her power as part of a much larger plan...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Mayfair Witches Season 2 finale, “The Innocents.”] Leave it to those damn Mayfair Witches to turn ankle biters into appetizers! In the second-season finale of the Anne Rice adaptation series, our head witch in charge, Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario), managed to foil the Scottish Mayfairs’ grisly master plan to breed the hell out of newlywed demon Lasher (Jack Huston) and his baby-dispensing bride Emaleth (Hennesi Schmidt) before slaughtering their myriad (and rapidly growing) spawn. Why kill the kids? Because it turns out their blood is loaded with Lasher’s magical ability to control nature, to create life and reverse death. With assists from her current beau Lark (Ben Feldman), her ex Ciprien (Tongayi Chirisa) and his Talamasca pals, hilarious cousin Moira (Alyssa Jirrels), oh, and a werewolf, Rowan was able to tap into her newly evolving abilities to take down her relatives and save the lil ones. Mayfair Witches strays quite far from the books both in terms of the story and the characters, so it’s obvious that fans of Anne Rice’s “The lives of the Mayfair Witches” aren’t too fond of the show. But to be fair, there’s more to the general dismissal of Esta Spalding’s show as a worthy addition to Immortal Universe than just the liberties it takes with the source material. Personally, I have a wildly varying opinion on the show depending on which episode I’ve seen last. And since Mayfair Witches goes from 0 to 100 within the matter of a single episode, it’s not the easiest thing to stick to the show. But now that the sophomore season has drawn to a close, I’ve got to admit that I’m pretty excited to see where the story will go should they greenlight a 3rd season.

While a lot of talk about the war to come took its fair share of space in the final episode of season 2 of Mayfair Witches, the real treat was the war that unfolded before our eyes this week. And when it’s war we’re talking about, it’s only obvious that winning would require both sides to adapt to the shifting circumstances. By the end, it’s not just Julien’s unfathomable capacity for treachery that shocks you. You’re also left quite bemused by the morally-opaque complexities of Rowan Mayfair’s character.

Alexandra Daddario is speaking up for herself against her harshest critics, who have accused her of not being a good actress. Daddario stars as Dr. Rowan Fielding on the hit AMC+ series Mayfair Witches. She has been acting on camera for over two decades, and yet she has often been dismissed by critics and some harsher fans online throughout her career. Even with a major award nomination under her belt, it still doesn't seem enough for some, and the actress is done with people saying she isn't good at her job.
Speaking with Elle magazine (via Variety), Daddario was asked what she thought was the "most outrageous rumor" about herself that won't go away. Daddario quickly answered, "That I’m a bad actress." Daddario points out that despite being nominated for an Emmy for her performance in The White Lotus, one of the most critically acclaimed series on air, her talents are constantly questioned.

All week, I’ve been thinking to myself: why can Outlander have Claire and Jamie but we cannot have Kat and Thomas?
Alas, it matters not. At least not right now.
But as Alice still has unfinished business in 1999, proving that nothing in this story is finished until it’s finished, I will not write off Thomas. I just can’t. I’m stubborn that way.
(©2025 Hallmark Media/Photographer: Peter Stranks)
But overall, The Way Home Season 3 Episode 9 is exactly what most The Way Home fans, especially those who want Kat and Elliot to share a future, wanted.
There were plenty of answers to long-lingering questions, and even if Thomas did depart, his impact on Kat was everlasting. You really can’t ask for much more from a penultimate episode.

Alexandra Daddario is an award-nominated performer, but not everybody is a fan. Some have criticized the Mayfair Witches star for her acting work, but she doesn't put too much stock into what they say, feeling that her Emmy nomination speaks for itself.
Per Elle, Daddario was asked to address what she considers to be the "most outrageous rumor" she has heard about herself that just "won't go away." What came to mind first for Daddario was the perception held by her critics that she's "a bad actress." While she agreed that not every project she has been a part of has been a major success, she pointed out how these failures were not because of her performances directly. When it comes strictly to her work, Daddario feels very confident in how she performs on-screen.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Mayfair Witches Season 2.] Mayfair Witches Season 2 is coming to a close on Sunday, March 2, on AMC and AMC+. The eight-episode sophomore season of the Anne Rice adaptation has done a lot of legwork to connect the three shows of the Immortal Universe — Interview With the Vampire, Mayfair Witches, and the upcoming Talamasca series — by way of crossovers and Easter eggs. But the future of the Alexandra Daddario-led series has not yet been revealed. The series still has one more book from the Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy to pull from, so will there be a Mayfair Witches Season 3? Mayfair Witches Season 2 continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston). She is determined to understand what he has become — human or monster? — and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she...

[This story contains spoilers from Mayfair Witches‘ penultimate episode of season two, “A Tangled Web.”]
Alexandra Daddario doesn’t feel like she can trust Mayfair Witches’ leading lady Rowan Fielding — and she’s not sure you should either.
The star of the AMC series, the second in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe franchise, admitted as much while discussing Rowan’s fate and what’s ahead for her, Moira (Alyssa Jirrels), Lark (Ben Feldman) and Cortland (Harry Hamlin) ahead of Sunday’s episode, “A Tangled Web.” The penultimate episode of season two ended on a stomach-clenching cliffhanger, after Rowan and the others found themselves trapped in Scotland as unexpected guests of a wedding for a prophesied union.
When Lasher (Jack Huston) is seemingly taken from Rowan by the Talamasca, she discovers a more sinister plan is afoot that has whisked him away to Scotland. Crossing the Atlantic in hopes of finding and retrieving her son, her former (demon) lover, and a magical accelerant to her power and the Mayfair coven,...

Rosemary’s new radio show, “The Daily Dialogue,” caused chaos on When Calls the Heart.
Rosemary and Fiona encouraged Elizabeth to promote her training curriculum on When Calls the Heart Season 12 Episode 8, but that backfired when a superintendent thought Elizabeth’s ideas were naive.
Meanwhile, Ronald Rockwell visited Hope Valley to inform Rosemary and Fiona that their radio show bored viewers and they needed something new and exciting. Therefore, Rosemary decided to air her play production over the air.
(Courtesy of Hallmark Media)
While Rosemary was excited about this new opportunity, her cast was dropping like flies. However, Rosemary never quits.
Neither did Elizabeth or Fiona, even if their spirit took a beating. “The Show Must Go On” demonstrated these women’s fighting spirit and strength in numbers.

Mayfair Witches is seriously becoming one of the better genre dramas on the air.
Maybe it’s because there’s a severe lack of genre fare, but the series has been on a creative upswing lately.
Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 7 upped the ante considerably, preparing for an endgame that’s sure to be filled with bloodshed.
(Jonathan Hession/AMC)
The episode did a great job of upping the creepy factor as Rowan navigated the tunnels to learn more about Ian, his family, and his master plan for Lasher.
You know how I feel about Rowan’s decisions this season, but she was on her A-game as she traversed the tunnels, met Moira, and used her magic to scare Ian’s wife into giving her answers.

If there’s one thing that’s bugged me about the show, it’s that Rowan’s powers have been all over the place.

You know what they say; it takes one survivalist to know one. Or something like that.
Colter has encountered several people on his journeys that remind him of himself, but he met his match on Tracker Season 2 Episode 10, in the form of Ben, a fellow loner and product of a father who taught him all the tools to survive.
It was on Colter to find his survivalist brethren and a missing woman in a town that wanted no part of his presence.
(Darko Sikman/CBS)
One of Tracker’s staples has become the unhelpful or downright duplicitous law enforcement people who stymie Colter at every turn, and that was certainly the case when Colter stepped foot in Wolf Creek, Minnesota.
But things didn’t play out the way you expected.

Unfortunately for many of us viewers, it seems like overall the Mayfair Witches television adaptation is not that great. Some complain about the direction the story has gone in compared to the books. Or even compared to Interview with a Vampire, which is a fan-favorite and actually a good adaptation of Anne Rice's. Well whether you like it or have chosen to thug it out until the end, you might be wondering when season 2 is coming to an end. And it's pretty soon.
The Mayfair Witches season 2 finale premieres Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 9 p.m. Et on AMC, and will stream later on AMC+. Just like the first season, this one is 8 episodes long. The longer Mayfair Witches stays on the path to the spring of magic, the more it opens itself up to some surprisingly convoluted lanes of philosophy. It’s not so much about the gray per se, but a more brazen declaration of the inevitability of good and bad. Lasher’s proving to be the bringer of life and growth on a near-barren earth. And like all messiahs, he can’t really help that a part of him has a great capacity to inflict pain. He’s had a rather strange existence ever since the 1500s. The only thing I can crib about is that we’re already at the penultimate episode of season 2 of Mayfair Witches.

However, before he became the misunderstood adopted son of the Dutton family, Bentley made his name in one of the most controversial Oscar-winning films in history. In 1999, Bentley starred in American Beauty, a psychological dark comedy that made his name in Hollywood.
Playing Ricky Fitts, a role that would influence his later works and characters, the film’s success, which included sweeping the 72nd Academy Awards and becoming a defining film of the late 90s, launched Bentley into a range of roles in both film and television. From playing a manipulative Head Gamemaker in The Hunger Games to several characters in American Horror Story, Bentley's career expanded across genres.

The AMC series Mayfair Witches recently debuted its second season and the show has been going strong till episode 6. The Alexandra Daddario starrer had a decent first season that was a faithful adaptation of Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches novels. Now, the witches are back to uncover more secrets.
While the sophomore season is still on episode 6, the series shows immense potential and plenty of material to cover. The ratings for the second season seem to have drastically increased and while many have criticized the series for its far-out premise, Daddario’s performance and the lore keep things interesting.

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 6, “Michaelmas.”] New Orleans got a break from those chaotic Mayfairs this week as Rowan (Alexandra Daddario), Lark (Ben Feldman), Moira (Alyssa Jirrels), and Cortland (Harry Hamlin) headed to Scotland in search of demon-on-the-go Lasher (Jack Huston). And it was there that they met a new batch of Mayfair men who welcomed them into their own brand of crazy. Jonathan Hession / AMC Arriving just in time for Michaelmas, which is apparently a religious feast celebrating the end of the harvest through unsettling costumes and masks made of human skin, our traveling troupe almost immediately winds up in a mass. Moira goes missing, there’s no room at the inn they’ve booked themselves, and everyone in town seems to specialize in side-eyeing the newcomers. That is, until a fine young lad named Hamish is tasked with delivering Rowan, Cortland, and Lark to what turns...

Well, that was eerie and left me wanting more.
Mayfair Witches Season 2 Episode 6 sent Rowan, Moira, Cortland, and Lark to Scotland, hoping to find Lasher and unravel Ian’s plans.
Unfortunately, when they arrived in Kilbride, they were no match for what awaited them, and things went from bad to worse.
(Jonathan Hession/AMC)
As has become customary with Mayfair Witches, everyone made terrible decisions.
It was on another level during “Michaelmas” that left everyone facing death’s door with no way out, but they somehow found a way to do stupid things.
(Jonathan Hession/AMC)
My biggest eye-roll moment came from Cortland, Rowan, and Lark leaving the city center with Hamish after Moira went missing.
If my cousin or anyone in my party went missing, the last thing on my mind would be moving on to the next destination.

Overall, Tracker isn’t a dark show.
They may deal with dark subject matter at times, but most hours carry a little sense of lightness, often in the interactions between Colter and his team or even the people he meets during his various journeys.
But Tracker Season 2 Episode 9 was dark. It was one of the darkest hours we’ve seen yet and undoubtedly one of its best.
(Darko Sikman/CBS)
Tracker Season 2 hasn’t endured a sophomore slump whatsoever.
They’ve delivered solid hours all season long, and as they head into the second half of their season, they’re off to a hot start with a conclusion to a season-long case that we just learned about in Tracker Season 2 Episode 1 but had been plaguing Colter for years.
It was interesting to have Colter work on something sporadically all season, almost in place of the Shaw Family drama.
