Although mainly set in France the series was actually filmed on the islands of Malta and Gozo.

On Monday, 8th August 2022, Channel 5 Television (UK) and AMC Networks' Acorn TV announced that they have commissioned Clapperboard to produce a 6-episode second season of the popular crime drama - to be preceded by a Christmas Special. The Christmas Special will air on Channel 5 in the UK in December 2022 with the second season to follow in 2023. Filming will begin on location later in 2022.
All episodes are co-written by Sally Lindsay and Sue Vincent they are also the creators of the series. The two play Jean White and Gloria.
Sally Lindsay who plays the lead role of Jean (Madame Blanc/Mrs Jean White) is also the creator of the series.
