When the project was first planned it was meant to be a feature film starring Shahid Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddique. Later on when the project became a web series Vijay Sethupathi stepped into Nawazuddin's role.
When Raj & DK were making this project as a film several actors like Harshvardhan Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra were attached to it at various points.
