Alison Brie, a self-professed nudist and exhibitionist, used her personal experiences with public nudity in the writing and incorporated them into her character. She told the Hollywood Reporter that, "I had a real penchant for streaking in my college years. I kind of took a step away from that, but, in more recent years, I've gotten back into it."
The "this is my note" scene between Alison Brie and Danny Pudi is a reference to their Community co-star Jim Rash, who would do it as a warm-up.
