I am watching the 1st episode with low expectations So far I like it, it doesn't take itself seriously at all. The joke that Chris is rude and aggressive is funny to me. Myrtle is just as silly as expected and you can see Amanda trying not to laugh I like Amanda Holden and think she is down to Earth so I think that helps The Celebrity guests are hamming it up too Give it a go if you like silly pretend documentaries.

What a narcissist this woman is.

I watched both two episodes simply because I couldn't be bothered to get up for the remote control. How sad am I!

TV producers really do believe that the viewer has the IQ of 3 year old child.

This programme is all about her. How many more times could they mention Les Dennis, boring joke. Francis was as unfunny as usual with his disgusting and totally repulsive toilet and vomiting humour, he really is depraved. Constant referrals to the sound and video crew as he always does, boring. 'Mand' works for QVC you know, and Heart Radio and interviews famous people who are always really lovely. She also gets people singing to her as she also does Britain's Got No Talent, oh and also......... meh.

We see her mansion in the leafy suburbs with all her ITV chums living close by, it must be like living in hell. I don't begrudge anyone a nice house and wealth but I am so sick and tired of these so called celebrities ramming it down our throats in the middle of a pandemic when so many are struggling. She'll be bragging about her places abroad next whilst we are in the depth of winter and another lockdown.

In walks Ben (giggle giggle, massively overly animated face) Shepherd with a proper ITV 'Hi', do these people ever talk and act in a natural manner like the rest of us? Jason from Take That just looked totally bemused.

Francis really does need to get some original script writers and those prosthetics look like they were bought from eBay and glued on with Prit.

Holden dominates the scenes generally which of course is what it's all about. How much lip filler, Botox and lifts can one face handle? She loves her 'Charidy' work, she soon got that one in.

Really do not bother with this. E4 has totally lost its way. Married at First Sight used to be watchable but now is full of Holden type Wannabees with those horrendous lips.

No doubt the next episodes will include more exposure for, let's guess, Eamon and his Mrs, Lorraine (lovely tax evader playing herself) Kelly, Holly (taking over the world of TV) Willoughby and Philip (I needed to come out due to being exposed) Schofield. If Ant and Dec, Morgan and Cowel don't make an appearance it will be a miracle.

We're so so tired of this type of thing. Please let's have some new, innovative talent instead of the same old same old boring faces on TV.

TV people really should have expiry dates so that every 3 years new presenters etc take over.

One of the most painful 10minutes of my life, before I switched it off. Horrendous.

I'm surprised at all the negativity. This is a finely balanced example of a fake documentary. Superbly subtle performance from Amanda and Leigh- who reigns in his usual anarchic style, and it's all the more hilarious for that! Me & my wife love this show and look forward to watching it.

Sorry but who is signing off on making these shows? Surely there must be better ideas than this to put on our screens. Truly awful, dont waste your time.

This is not a classic comedy but do you know what? Leigh Francis nails it. He"s brilliant. I am 44 and my gran was like that and all her friends. He nailed it. Kudos to Amanda. Brilliant. Hoping for a second season.

Pleasantly surprised with this. I'm only on the 2nd episode, but think it should be watchable to the end. I guess it's from similar experiences that are relatable regarding the upheaval it can cause having a relative move in for a while.

Light hearted entertainment. Watch it for yourself.

For anyone under 60 the title's a pun on a genuine 80's American TV comedy, The Golden Girls.

This Mockumentary follows Amanda Holden and her prosthetic Mother Myrtle who moves from Doncaster to London to live with her for some contrived reason.

It just wasn't entertaining or funny. Myrtle was given the comic role while Amanda plays it straight, but it was very forced with wooden performances.

Watch Meet the Richardsons instead on Dave, a similar setup but a million miles better and funny too, which this certainly isn't.

I don't think those that have rated this very low actually get it. Classic Keith Lemon/Leigh Francis. An excellent spoof with some superb comedy at the expense of Amanda Holden. Great that she was up for this.

Based on the other reviews you'll either love or hate this. I still haven't stopped laughing and I watched it yesterday.

I can't believe someone signed off on this project. Wasted my time I won't get back. It has cringe all over it. Don't waste your time .

This show is ridiculous. Wasted 22 minutes that I will never get back.

I was watching something else, made a brew, came back into the living room and the Holden girls was on. After 2 minutes i thought the old lady is definitely a man in make up. So it must be Lee Francis aka Keith lemon.

I watched until the 1st break, I'm not certain if it's meant to be funny or not. I have yet to smile let alone laugh. As an adult male with children, this show probably isn't aimed at me. I'd rather watch spongebob Square pants on my own than another 2 minutes of This absolute tripe! Load of bloody rubbish!

OK if you have a dry sarcastic SOH and love one liners this is for you. Absolutely a great break in the day when ever you catch it, brightened my day with belly laughing, eyes watering, just have an open mind and don't over think the punch lines, let it flow as its been made.

Self indulgent Amanda, just an excuse to show off her wealth. Cannot believe this got aired, this is how awful TV has become.

It would seem viewers either love this or really dislike this. I've laughed my head off, so refreshing to see a proper comedy, fed up of all the reality programmes, we do really need to laugh more. I can see that Myrtle (Leigh Francis) is so much like your gran. Amanda Holden is great I don't see what's not to like. Keep up the work and keep us laughing it's what we need in the world right now.

Seems to be getting a lot of bad reviews but does not deserve them as it is quite funny. Leigh Francis returning to something like his Bo Selecta characters. Definitely worth a watch.

She has the worst sense of humour i have ever seen.

This is clearly meant to be some spoof reality show with someone dressed as her nan. Nothing is funny and it makes no sense whatsoever.

I don't get the negative reviews at all, caught 10 mins of an episode and immediately started binge watching. Lots of laugh out loud moments and it's observational comedy at is best, I'm sure we can all see Nan in our own relatives.

Pathetic. Embarrassing. Cliched. Horrible. Nothing saves this train crash of a programme.

Even before the first episode aired the constant advert for this series bugged the life out of me to the point that i intended not to watch.

But it came on after a show i was watching so gave it 20 mins to give it a chance. Big mistake!

Generally like leigh francis programmes but this is dire.

Unfunny and just a seriously unlikable character and as for amanda holden it wasn't really a surprise as she is always fake, wooden and unlikable.

Would watch paint dry before watching this garbage again!

Straight up one of the worst TV shows I've ever seen. Mind-boggling that someone, somewhere read a script for this and gave it a green light.

You couldn't write a sitcom this bad if your brief was to write the most cringey, unfunny garbage you could think of.

Amanda Holden's acting is terrible, wooden, utterly unconvincing, while the character of Myrtle is so grotesquely over-the-top, no suspension of disbelief is possible.

The funniest show on tv! Can't believe all the bad ratings, think it's just gone over people's head who doesn't realise it's a spoof docu- comedy! Amanda Holden and Leigh Francis as Myrtle are superb!

Supported brilliantly by a host of stars who just make this an epic comedy which should go down in history matching the likes of Fawlty Towers and Monty Python for breaking new ground in a new original comedy genre!

People should watch this series again with an open mind and then they will realise what a comedy genius Leigh Francis is!

I have spoken to many people and they just thought Myrtle was just an actress playing a part! Well that just enforces the role of Leigh Francis and the naturalness of Amanda Holden!

Sometimes we can't see the wood for the trees and this series is a good example of comedy gold being hidden away from the mainstream viewers! It's such a shame because it's hilarious!

No doubt the tv companies will bring it back in years to come when one of the actors passes away as an tribute!
