In an era where content makers and viewers are obsessed with complex plots that get darker, perhaps to seem and sound more intellectually evolved; 'Potluck' is a simple, refreshing, soulful family entertainer that aims only at making you feel good and that's exactly what it does.
Unlike many other binges, this one is not tiring on the eyes or the brain as it brings a smile to your face, for most of its duration. You journey with the characters, laugh at their jokes, hate them at times, find them stupid at others, cannot at all relate to them on certain occasions; but you stay with them throughout.
Overall, 'Potluck' is like the soulful dish perhaps your mum brought to your own family potluck; it is to be savoured with a smile!

I am a sucker for slice of life content because there isn't anything more relatable than this genre. Potluck is yet another feather in Sony Liv's already overstuffed cap. A slice of life series with a delectable cast.
After suffering a cardiac arrest; a father of three hatches a plan to keep his children and their families near by organising potlucks every week.
Featuring a talented ensemble, which includes the likes of Cyrus Sahukar, Ira Dubey, Shikha Talsania, jatin sial & Kitu Gidwani; Potluck is like a bowl of hot gulab jamun topped with thick rabri; comforting as hell. Every episode centres around a different potluck at one of the three houses. Familiar issues like the need of a bigger house, the nanny speaking in her mother tongue, joblessness & cooking know-how are tackled in subtle ways.
The cast does an excellent job in capturing these nuances of daily life. Every cast member does their part to perfection: the "just making ends meet" couple played by Cyrus, Ira & their three kids; the overachieving younger son & wife and finally the single daughter who is searching for the right partner.
Potluck is a soothing, somewhat relatable family friendly series that is not cliched or cringe worthy; something of a rarity these days. Potluck & Gullak together at Sony Liv; makes this platform the home of good slice of life features.

Why is this standout series marketed so poorly? I am dissapointed that I heard about it so late.
If you liked "This is Us," then this series is a must-watch for you. If not, then also you can watch it, simply for the novelty. It is rare to find this level of writing in the family drama genre India.
People do not care about stories anymore, they care about characters. The recipe to success is all about real characters, who are also likeable, or interesting. And that is exactly what this series does.

Can you believe it, this series portrays familiar issues like the need of a bigger house, the nanny speaking in her mother tongue, joblessness, cooking know-how etc.
Pros: simple, relatable, realistic, and without melodrama.
Cons: It can be too simple, tad predictable, and somehow lacks that something special.

I loved "Yeah Meri Family hai" from TVF with 90's Nostalgic. Potluck is kind of similar Modern Family show. Loved it❤
Potluck has been seen. It's breezy, warm and fun. The gist of the series is how every member of the family is different, have their quirks yet remain close as a family. The ensemble cast has performed admirably well. Jatin Sial rocks. The show is recommended for light entertainment.

I would not rate the show very highly. Direction and Camera angles are a bit haywire. The actors kept the show afloat. But a relatable premise in the backdrop of a soothing musical tunes leaves good memories.
My immediate reaction after watching the show wasn't positive. But the memories are good.

It was an exhausting week, I was at the peak of my boredom, that's when I randomly decided to start watching potluck. Call it a serendipity because nothing else could have cheered me so well, could have made me smile and giggle with their talks. It starts off as a casual sitcom but an episode later I was hooked. I started relating to few things in each character, loved the brother sister trio bond the main leads shared. No leads per se but a lot of conversations revolve around the trio.
It is such a heartwarming and feel good show with so many subtle life lessons. The writers have brilliantly touched upon such important issues in a rather comic style which is super commendable. I really want to hug the writers and the directors for coming up with all the beautifully poignant moments in the show. It's truly a hidden gem which needs so a lot more viewers to appreciate its beauty.
If you're a fan of This is Us/Ghar waapsi (hotstar) am sure you will find this series enjoyable.
