Caesar & Otto in the House of Dracula: Dumb childish fun

I really enjoyed Caesar & Otto Summer Camp Massacre, I didn't expect to but really did.

Following directly on from the events at the end of the movie this short see's our misfit brothers meet the lesser known brother of Vlad Dracula.......Steve.

At less than 10 minutes this doesn't have quite the scope of the movie and is filmed entirely in black and white paying homage to the early monster genre films. It all entertains none the less.

Filmed bizarrely entirely on a green screen it looks goofy, but that's the aim.

It's dumb, it's childish, but it's also quite fun and opens up for the next short.

The Good:

Caesar & Otto are really damn entertaining

Goofy charm

The Bad: Short and anti-climatic next to the movie

Things I learnt from this movie:

The only weakness of some vampires is a well placed banana peel

The Boys Meet Dracula

Caesar & Otto in the House of Dracula (2009)

** (out of 4)

If you've seen CAESAR AND OTTO'S SUMMER CAMP MASSACRE then you know at the end of it Caesar (Dave Campfield) and Otto (Paul Chomicki) get a phone call from someone in New York inviting them to stay at his house. It turns out that this phone call was from Steve Dracula (Ed Dennehy).

At just ten-minutes there's nothing too good or bad about this short film. The comedy is scaled back a little from the previous movie, which was a feature-length movie but one that was way too long. I thought this worked rather well as a short film as the horror spoofs were right on target and you at least could be mildly entertained. I was a little surprised that there wasn't the same type of back-and-forth humor between Caesar and Otto but both actors are obviously comfortable with their characters. The film being shot in B&W was a nice touch as well.
