Over the weekend (November 8-11), Netflix is unleashing 4 movies, namely, the slice-of-life Vijay 69 which follows an old man who competes in a triathlon contest at age 69, Focus which centers Will Smith and Margot Robbie working together on their latest con scheme, and Rob Peace aka the movie based on the biography The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs.

Netflix is also bringing back...

TrustNordisk has boarded international sales on Danish box office hit The Children Of Silver Street.

The family film follows four siblings living alone in a Copenhagen apartment after their mother goes missing, as the siblings try to navigate life while remaining off the radar of the authorities.

Nordisk Film Distribution released The Children Of Silver Street in Denmark on October 10, since when it has topped the Danish box office and recorded 153,524 admissions through to October 29.

The Danish film is directed by Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Avaz, and adapted for screen by Renee Toft Simonsen from her 2019 book of the same name.

Netflix is removing several big titles in November.

The streaming service just updated their monthly list of movies and television series that are debuting on the streamer throughout the month. However, along with the list of debuting shows and films, they always announce a handful that will be removed as well.

This coming month, several big titles will be taken away, but only one TV series will be leaving: Shahs of Sunset.

Exclusive: A strong cast of actors, financiers and producers has come together for Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value, the follow-up to his critical and commercial hit The Worst Person in the World, which was Oscar nominated and took more than $12 million at the global box office.

That film’s breakout star Renate Reinsve is back to play the lead in Sentimental Value, as previously reported, and we can reveal that she will be joined by Stellan Skarsgård (Dune), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (A Beautiful Life) and Elle Fanning (The Great).

The final installment of “Manifest” has topped Netflix’s Top 10 list for its English series, clocking in 78.15 million hours for Season 4, Part 2. The ending also led to fans revisiting Season 1, which saw 18.18 million hours viewed.

The disaster supernatural thriller wasn’t the only series finale that made the list. The final season for “Never Have I Ever” scored 76.21 million hours viewed, putting it in the No. 2 slot.

This week “The Mother” was once again the #1 English movie across the globe with 16.5 million hours viewed, but it also entered Netflix’s all-time chart as the eighth most-watched English language film on the streamer with 229.3 million viewing hours. It was only the number-one movie in Jordan, of all places, but it remained in the top 10 for 89 countries total.

The rest of that top 10 was made up of movies from other studios that previously had theatrical releases with DreamWorks Animation’s “The Boss Baby” taking second place with 10.6 million hours viewed, followed by “Missing” with 8.1 million viewing hours, and even Mark Wahlberg‘s 2007 action movie “Shooter” placed in the top five with 7.5 million viewing hours.

It’s probably not getting an Oscar nominations anytime soon, but “The Mother” has bested Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” where it counts: Netflix viewership metrics. Jennifer Lopez’s thriller film has entered the streamer’s list of Top 10 most popular English-language films at No. 8, knocking Scorsese’s three-and-a-half hour mobster epic out of the upper echelon.

Netflix announced the news on Tuesday, along with the release of viewership numbers for the week of May 29 to June 4. “The Mother,” which has streamed for four weeks after premiering on Netflix May 12, has now been watched for a total of 229.30 million total hours by Netflix subscribers. That’s enough to place it between “Extraction” (231.340 million hours) and “Purple Hearts” (228.69 million hours) on the all-time list, and bump “The Irishman,” which peaked at 214.57 million hours viewed after its first 28 days on the streamer, from the list.

Jennifer Lopez’s “The Mother” has cracked Netflix’s top 10 most popular movies list of all time with 229.3 million total hours viewed in just under a month since its release.

Entering the most popular English films list at No. 8, the action-thriller drew in an additional 16.48 million hours watched this week and is currently tracking at 117 million views. On the most popular English films list, “Red Notice” and “Don’t Look Up” are currently in the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively, while “Purple Hearts” and “The Unforgivable” fall behind “The Mother” in the ninth and tenth spots, respectively.

“The Mother” is also continuing its reign on this week’s most-watched English films list in the No. 1 spot, with “The Boss Baby” coming in at the second spot and “Missing” coming in at the third spot.

Get ready for a continuation of the recurrent rotation between “The Super-Mario Bros.” (Universal) and “John Wick: Chapter 4” (Lionsgate) as #1 and #2 on PVOD charts. Both films (each priced at $19.99) will likely add two more weeks minimum back and forth atop the lists after a similar battle the last two.

Netflix meantime has about as top-heavy a list of older theatrical releases, with only one original making their top 10 (in tenth place). There is nothing in A Beautiful Life that we haven’t seen multiple times before. It tells a worn-out story filled with the same tried-and-true ways of making a film. If filmmaking was just about fitting parts into already existing templates and manufacturing them with a garnish of novelty that makes them look different in small ways, then A Beautiful Life would be a perfect film. It has nothing original to say or show through its aesthetics, and it’s so difficult to believe it was made in 2023. Netflix gained a new competitor last month (sort of) when HBO Max and Discovery+ combined forces to create the confusingly-named Max. With its list of new releases for June 2023, however, Netflix doesn’t have too much to worry about.

This month is filled with some major Netflix original titles, not the least of which is The Witcher season 3 volume 1 on June 29. Though star Henry Cavill is set to leave the Polish folklore/video game adaptation in season 4, he remains very much entrenched as the titular Witcher in this next go-around. Other big TV hits include Manifest season 4 part 2 (June 2), Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources season 2 (June 9), and animated King Kong series Skull Island (June 22).
