A mixture, not a good mixture

With this movie, it seems they couldn't decide what they wanted to make: a Western, a horror movie, or something psychological.

In any case, the result was something that was a complete flop for me.

The opening sequence is interesting, but it only raises questions and offers no answers as to what actually happened.

After that, there's something that was probably only accomplished with a bunch of untalented amateur actors (when I see someone jumping out of cover and shooting high into the air, hitting someone...OMG). It all looked like a pathetic version of The Wild Bunch.

I can't recommend watching it, either.

I love this film! What a great twist!

A great film that combines old time Western action with modern Horror! This film has it all as they did a great job of creating this new exciting blend of ideas into an entertaining film! Definitely worth the watch!!!! The actors were awesome and I love how this local Arizona film really picks up that old time Western feel!

I'm here for it!

This was super entertaining. Humorous, exciting, terrifying, original, gross, and surprisingly, a little heartwarming 😂. Kellen Garner's performance did not disappoint! It may not be for the squeamish , or the young obviously , but I love a fresh new storyline in a world that seems to just feed us sequels and the same plot wrapped up in a different package. The scenery was beautiful, I love the western horror mash up, it's something I didn't know I would love, so there is that! I hope it gets the traction it deserves. Now I'll go to bed with the light on trying desperately to not think of Az skin walkers🙈.

Original, Fresh and Eerie!

Wow, this movie was absolutely wild! I don't usually go for Western horror-it's not really my thing-but this one completely pulled me in and made me rethink the genre. It has everything you could want in a horror film: brutal body gore, a terrifying monster, cannibals, and that classic Western feel, but with a much darker twist. The storyline was gripping from start to finish, delivering all the tension, dread, and shock value you expect from a solid horror movie.

On top of that, the performances were phenomenal! I was especially blown away by the actor who played Joe and the actress who played Willow-they brought so much depth and intensity to their roles. This movie was genuinely fantastic, and I highly recommend it to any horror fanatic looking for something fresh, eerie, and unforgettable!

Blood def in them hills

What can I say, this movie surprised me in many ways. From its cast, to its locations, and its core premise. Mixing horror and westerns is something I love seeing done and we dont get enough of that in the genre. I also really loved the shootout sequence in the town. Totally worth checking out.

While there is always room for improvement or constructive criticism, I just really enjoyed what this director and team put out. The theme was great, the acting was solid, if anything I just wanted more but that's not a bad thing.

I'd gladly watch the director and this companies future films.

More than just a Western

Like the previous reviewer said, westerns are not really my go-to genre, and neither is horror, but the mash-up of these two is done well here, and the film has more depth and character exploration than typical Westerns and horrors.

At the core, this film is ultimately about the main character, Joe, as we follow and witness his subtle yet powerfully impactful transformation throughout the film. Cannibals, monsters, friends, and foes are just along for the ride, and there are plenty of action and shoot-out sequences to keep you entertained.

The film has some stellar cinematography, a killer soundtrack, and wonderful performances.

Blood definitely in the Hills

First off, we need more Horror Westerns! Two genres that definitely belong together. The movie starts off with a great opening sequence that sets the tone for the rest of the movie.

Not to spoil anything...but It had me thinking of the movie "Pumpkinhead". The special effects were top notched. I really miss the good ole days of practical effects in horror movies.

The acting was very good from each of the leads and the supporting cast. The direction, locations and cinematography captured the western spirit quite well.

Overall, a great addition to the horror and western films. It'll be interesting to see if the story ends or if this is just the beginning.

Great western-horror film with a heaping helping of humor

Okay, I was shocked how much I LOVED this truly GREAT movie, as it was a "10" on so many fronts, but succinctly said: I especially loved how the multi-layered horror-western story was filled with equal "helping"" of comedy and fright. The humor was filled with both subtle jabs and laugh-out-loud humor. The film had a fantastic story with numerous sude stories that kept you entertained with non/stop action.

The outstanding direction was apparent throw out with no dead time, and the strong performances by an excellent ensemble cast was led by three great character leads; The funny, villain Joe Good (who was "better than good "), The Doctor turned bounty hunter and The Midwife with a heart of gold were in essence "Three Strangers and a Baby" in a western/monster movie.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the special FX Make-up which was truly Oscar worthy. What I thought would be a low-budget film was truly one of the best films I've seen in a long, long time.

I'm glad I saw it in the big screen, but I can't wait to watch it again, again and again now on the small screen either Apple +

Review of BLOOD IN THEM HILLS

This is a Fantastic Horror Western Film with an Excellent Cast, with some who I know. The Cinematography was terrific with very good scenic surroundings. Audio was great with very good sounds, especially of the creature. Makeup was very believable and I applaud the Makeup Artist for doing such an outstanding job with her skills.

One of my favorite scenes in the beginning was the bank robbery. Fine acting by the whole Cast. The main characters were very into their dialogue and their roles.

Overall in my opinion, this was one of the best Wesrern Films I have seen comparing it to Bone Tomahaw. I recommend watching. A shoutout to the Director, Cast, Crew and all involved making a terrific film!

Bring back the old school westerns!

Well done to the cast and crew! I was engaged the entire movie. The ending was perfect. I wish they would have explained the demon a little more. Why was it there? Why did it target that specific family? The character development was perfect. You could tell everyone worked really hard putting this together. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a heartfelt/suspenseful movie. Maybe a little too scary for kiddos though. I wish the very best to the entire team who put this together. They deserve the credit and chance to keep doing what they love. Make sure to watch the movie!

GREAT WESTERN FLIM WITH A TWIST

I Really enjoyed watching this movie. It kept me in my chair till the end! Great Job everyone!

We need to bring more Westerns back to the big screen. I know quite a few of the actors in this film, and they all did a great job portraying their character. The storyline was not your predictable Western which gave it that twist.
