‘Foundation’ Season 3 Episode 2 Recap & Ending Explained: Is Hari Seldon Dead Again?
Image
In the 1st episode of Foundation Season 3, we got our first good look at the Mule, who took over the planet of Kalgan with the help of his Mentalic powers. That obviously had a ripple effect all across the galaxy, which was immediately clocked by the Prime Radiant. On Trantor, Demerzel notified Dawn, Dusk, and Day about the upcoming crisis, also known as the Seldon Crisis, and while Dawn and Dusk were worried about it, Day had resigned himself to his fate and welcomed the end of the Empire. On Haven, Captain Pritcher learned about the coup at Kalgan and decided to go against Mayor Indbur’s orders and travel to the planet to check how bad things actually were. On New Terminus, Professor Ebling and AI Seldon discussed the latter’s emergence, which was apparently more important than the ongoing feud between the Foundation and the Traders or the Mule’s arrival.

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner shows off shredded physique
Image
If Sansa Stark had to fight the Night King one-on-one she could have. How do we know? Because Sophie Turner, who played Sansa for all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, recently showed off a poolside picture of herself flexing her guns and showing off her six-pack, looking ready to bench press the army of the dead:

part of a collage on her Instagram, but it's since been deleted. Per E!, she was at the bachelorette party for singer Taura Lamb, clearly having a great time.

The account above, westerosies, is a great source for Game of Thrones-related news. It suggests that Turner is getting into shape so she can play Lara Croft in an upcoming live-action Tomb Raider show for Prime Video, and she does indeed look ready to take on the dangers of archeology. But last we heard,...

Helldivers 2 Black Hole Update: Meridia’s Fate and the Wormhole Threat to Super Earth
Image
Roughly one year ago, Helldivers 2 players carried out a special operation on the Meridia planet of the Umlaut Sector to take out the Terminid Supercolony residing there. Subsequently, Meridia was destroyed, but a black hole opened up in its place. At the time, no one expected the black hole to be a big problem, but it started moving directly towards Super Earth. The Meridian Singularity was destroying everything on its path, but Super Earth was able to stop it using the Repulsive Gravity Field Generator.

The Meridian Singularity was stopped, but things took a massive turn as a new Illuminate fleet emerged out of it. Now, the new Illuminate threat is only a handful of planets away from Super Earth, putting everyone and everything in danger.

The Dresden Files (2007)
5 SyFy shows that need a reboot or revival
The Dresden Files (2007)
Does anyone else remember when the SyFy channel was known as The Sci-Fi Channel? If you do, then you might remember that there have been a long line of amazing original shows the network has given us over the years.

Some of the shows even had crossover events, produced spinoff series, and generally entertained us for years. Maybe it's just me, but I miss a lot of the old shows that we used to enjoy on the network. While some shows didn't get nearly enough time to shine, others were given enough seasons that when they ended we didn't feel like we lost out on possible stories.

But even with shows like Eureka and Stargate getting finales that worked, that doesn't mean that we wouldn't love more time in these universes. In fact, whether it is a revival, a reboot or even a spin-off, it would be nice to see...

Edge’s Role in DC Universe Often Gets Shadowed by The Rock and John Cena
Image
Edge has always been the yin to John Cena’s yang. ‘The Ultimate Opportunist’ was a legendary heel and gave us moments we will never forget. As the bad guy, he was a heat-seeking missile. Before his first retirement, though, he turned face and had a very respectable run. After that, he decided to turn to acting (like his predecessors).

Adam Copeland/Edge’s acting career has gone under the radar, unlike John Cena’s or The Rock’s. He usually stars in straight-to-dvd films. Edge also acts in supporting character/cameo roles on TV shows such as The Vikings. No one even remembers that he had a role in a DC production before even the Rock and John Cena.

Edge played the Atom Smasher in the CW Flash series

While the Rock and John Cena were busy doing other stuff, Edge was cast as a meta-human named Atom Smasher in CW’s Flash series.

“Gleefully gruesome” Killer Clown Horror Movie is Now Free to Stream from the Studio Who Brought You ‘Terrifier’
Image
A ghastly grinning nightmare with a mysterious deck of cards is now yours to stream for free. The Jester, Dread’s hallucinatory Halloween-set chiller that quietly and quickly earned a cult following since its initial release, is now streaming on Tubi. It’s another banger distributed by our sister company Dread, the same lunatics behind cult genre titles like Terrifier, Beezel, and Benny Loves You.

Directed by Colin Krawchuk and based on a series of viral short films, The Jester tells the story of two sisters who, on an otherwise quiet Halloween night, find themselves stalked by a mysterious and seemingly supernatural trickster. The Jester—part mime, part magician, all menace—communicates only through gesture and expression, but his actions speak louder than you can scream.

The Jester was a hit for Dread, resonating with fans of indie horror, the Terrifier franchise, and horror hounds craving something off the beaten path.

The Way Home EPs ‘Working On’ Soundtrack Release of Original Songs
Image
With its time-traveling premise, The Way Home has always heavily relied on music as a crucial part of its storytelling.

In the early seasons, popular songs from the late 1990s and early 2000s set the mood for Alice’s trips to the past. Then, in Season 3, iconic tunes from the 1970s were integral to the story of how young Colton and Del first met and fell in love (with a little help from Abba’s “Waterloo”). The original songs of aspiring musician/singer-songwriter Colton also played a heavy role in the episodes, with his future granddaughter Alice contributing her voice...

Jason Priestley & Cindy Sampson Reprise Roles In ‘Private Eyes’ Spinoff
Image
Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson will reprise their roles from Canadian procedural Private Eyes in a spinoff series, four years after the original came to an end.

Private Eyes West Coast will see private investigators Matt Shade (Priestley) and Angie Everett (Sampson) solving cases in Victoria, British Columbia. Now leading different lives from their Toronto crime-fighting days, they encounter a world of different cases along with a new group of friends.

Further detail on casting, start of production and storyline will be announced “at a later date.” Fair to say the series will almost certainly retain the comedy-drama tone of the original show.

Lionsgate Canada and Piller/Segan are making it for Corus Entertainment network Global, reuniting the trio four year after the end of Private Eyes, which ran from 2016-2021. Lionsgate Television will handle international sales on West Coast, with the original having been a solid seller for the studio.

If the community decides it wants your heart, your lungs, your liver? Lie on the operating table and ‘think of England.’ I feel like Haven is very influenced by my status as a disabled, fat, aroace woman – I’ve often felt like my body is somehow everyone else’s business,...

It's official: Sarah Michelle Gellar is developing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot
Image
Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran from 1997 to 2003 and had an important role in shaping the tone of The WB network, which later became The CW. Fans loved Buffy for its quick wit, high stakes (I swear no pun was intended), splashy action and deep characters. Recently, reports have been going around that the series could get a revival on Hulu. Now, original series star Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy Summers herself, has confirmed that she is indeed working on one. From her Instagram Stories:

So… you might have heard some news this week, but I realize you haven’t heard from me.

Three years ago, I got a call from my dear friend and mentor, Gail Berman. She told me that she wanted me to sit down with Chloé Zhao to hear her take on a potential ‘Buffy’ revival. I was blown away that Chloé even knew who I was, but,...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot with Sarah Michelle Gellar close to happening
Image
Buffy the Vampire Slayer concluded in 2003 after seven seasons on the air, and remains a beloved and influential show to this day. There's been talk over the years of rebooting Buffy, with original series creator Joss Whedon working with showrunner Monica Owusu-Breen on a new show a while back. But that idea fizzled out a couple of years ago, probably because Whedon was accused of toxic behavior on his sets and has since been excommunicated from Hollywood.

But lately there have been signs of something stirring, with original series star Sarah Michelle Gellar coming around to the idea of a revival. “I always used to say no because it’s in its bubble, and it’s so perfect,” she said last month. "But watching [recent reboot shows] Sex And The City and seeing Dexter, and realizing there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, ‘Well, maybe.'”

She may...

‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Sequel Series With Sarah Michelle Gellar Returning Nears Hulu Pilot Order
Image
In every generation, there is a chosen one — again.

Variety has learned from sources that a sequel series to the beloved show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is nearing a pilot order at Hulu.

Sources say that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in final talks to once again play the iconic title character in the untitled project, although it would focus on a new Slayer and Gellar would appear in a recurring role rather than leading the series.

Nora Zuckerman and Lila Zuckerman are attached to write, showrun, and executive produce. Chloé Zhao is attached to direct and executive produce under her Book of Shadows production banner. Gellar would also executive produce along with Gail Berman. Fran Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui will executive produce via Suite B, while Dolly Parton will executive produce via Sandollar. 20th Television and Searchlight Television will produce. Berman, the Kuzuis, and Parton were all executive producers on the original “Buffy” series.

“The Way Home” Explores Time and Relationships in Latest Episode
The Way Home (2023)
This week’s episode of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” called “The Way We Were,” mixes past and present very interestingly. While examining themes of love, family, and the mysteries of time travel, it introduces 1974 as a significant new period.

After the exciting season premiere, in which the Landry family found their long-lost son, Jacob, this episode details the problems Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and Elliot Augustine (Evan Williams) are having. Despite their significant move-in together, their relationship is tense, especially because of the mysterious pond that allows time travel.

When Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) is pulled back to 1974, Kat follows her. This makes things more tense. During a stressful moment, Kat turns down Elliot’s offer to go with her, which leads to an interesting conversation. “No one said Kat was perfect,” says co-showrunner Heather Conkie. “She’s one of the most flawed characters we’ve ever written,”

This Supernatural Mystery Series Will Trap You in a World of Haunting Secrets and Unanswered Questions

The Syfy Original Series Haven, created by Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn, is a wonderful supernatural mystery loosely based on the novel The Colorado Kid by Stephen King. The show stars Emily Rose, who is most known for her work in the video game series Uncharted. Rose plays Audrey, an FBI agent who comes to the small town of Haven, Maine, where some of the townspeople are afflicted with curses referred to on the show as “Troubles.” A procedural with a supernatural twist, the underrated series was a lot more than meets the eye and deserves to be your next binge.

Why Deanna Troi Lost Her Accent In Star Trek: The Next Generation
Image
When casting call sheets went out for "Star Trek: The Next Generation," way back in December of 1986, the character of Counselor Deanna Troi was listed as "an alien women who is tall (5'8" - 6") and slender, about 30 years old, and quite beautiful. [...] Deanna is probably foreign with looks and accent to match. [...] Her alien 'look' is still to be determined." The name of Troi's species hadn't yet been determined in 1986, but Trekkies can now tell you that she is half-human and half-Betazoid.

Marina Sirtis was cast in the role, and she was a 30-year-old British actress of Cypriot descent, so the casting directors nailed it. Her alien "look" would eventually entail black eyes, and Sirtis wore contact lenses throughout her tenure on the series.

As for the accent, the showrunners let Sirtis merely keep her own British accent, rather than inventing something alien. Her accent, however, became something of a sticking point for Sirtis.

Tests for the role took place in October with several British actresses in the mix, including Turner. Mackenzie Davis (Station Eleven) was the lone American to make the shortlist. Emma Mackey (Sex Education) and Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) are also said to have tested for the role, according to sources.

‘Tomb Raider’: Sophie Turner Poised To Play Lara Croft In Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Amazon Series
Image
Exclusive: Sophie Turner is in negotiations to star as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, Prime Video’s high-profile series adaptation of the video game franchise from Emmy-winning Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, sources tell Deadline. A rep for Amazon MGM Studios declined comment.

As we reported exclusively last month, the Game of Thrones alumna was among the actresses who tested for the high-profile role, previously played on the big screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.

Tomb Raider, which Amazon MGM head Jennifer Salke called “epic” and “globe-trotting” while announcing the series order in May, has been a passion project for writer/executive producer Waller-Bridge, who spoke fondly of the title character at the time of the pickup.

“Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all,” she said in May.

The series is being developed under Amazon’s first-look deal with Will Graham and his Field Trip production banner. Graham will executive produce the project, with Lilla and Nora Zuckerman attached to write, executive produce, and showrun the series.

The official logline for “The Spy Coast” states, “Maggie Bird’s idyllic life as a retired spy in rural Maine is upended when her former agency comes asking questions about her final mission decades prior. With the help of her fellow retired spies, Maggie is forced on a globetrotting mission to discover the shocking truth behind what happened on her last mission all those years ago.”

Amazon MGM Studios’ Pan-English Scripted Originals Head Rola Bauer Exits
Image
Amazon’s head of Pan-English scripted originals Rola Bauer is exiting her role at the tech giant.

Bauer, who was elevated to the position in 2022 as part of a restructuring following Amazon’s $8.5 billion acquisition of MGM, previously served as MGM’s president of international TV.

An individual familiar with the matter tells TheWrap that the decision was made by Bauer, who is looking to “return to her entrepreneurial roots” and pursue options outside the company. The separation was a mutual decision with Amazon and her official date of leave remains to be determined.

During her tenure over the past two years, the Pan-English division has produced six projects, including “Harlan Coben’s Lazarus” starring Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy, “Haven” with Sophie Turner, “Quarter Life” with Riz Ahmed and “The Girlfriend” with Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke.

The Pan-English team will now be absorbed into the larger Amazon MGM Studios...

Rola Bauer to Exit Amazon MGM Studios Post as Head of Pan English Global Original Series
Image
International TV veteran Rola Bauer is stepping down from her role as Amazon MGM Studios’ head of English-language global original series produced outside the U.S.

The parting is amicable and instigated by Bauer. The seasoned producer and creative executive joined MGM in 2020 as president of international TV production. The scope of her role changed after Amazon’s 2022 acquisition of MGM to focus on a specific type of content that Amazon MGM Studios dubbed Pan-English global originals — projects produced in English but outside the U.S. The team put an emphasis on glossy event series that can travel well across territories and cultures.

As Amazon and MGM fine-tune the company’s hierarchy and strategy, Bauer decided it was a good time to return to producing and entrepreneurial content packaging and development efforts. Bauer’s executive team will be absorbed into the larger Amazon Studios structure. Bauer will help steer the...

Rola Bauer Exits Amazon Global TV Post
Image
International television executive, and producing pioneer, Rola Bauer is stepping down from her post as as head of pan-English scripted SVOD TV at Amazon Studios, Bauer and Amazon announced on Wednesday.

After several years at the global streamer, producing series starring the likes of Sophie Turner, Bill Nighy, Riz Ahmed and Robin Wright, Bauer said she wanted to “return to my entrepreneurial roots.”

Bauer was President of International Television Productions at MGM when, in May 2021, Amazon bought the studio in an $8.5 billion deal. Following the merger, she was put in charge of a new division, pan-English global originals, developing and producing English-language series outside the United States.

Her team produced six series in two years, including such upcoming shows as the thriller series Harlan Coben’s Lazarus starring Sam Claflin and Nighy; crime drama Haven featuring Turner; the half-hour comedy Quarter Life written by, and starring Ahmed; and The Girlfriend,...

Amazon’s Rola Bauer on Making English-Language TV for the World
Image
A veteran producer of international co-productions and high-end drama series — see the Emmy-nominated The Pillars of the Earth with Matthew Macfadyen and Eddie Redmayne or the pan-European crime series Crossing Lines with the late, great Donald Sutherland — Bauer has been building up Amazon’s slate of international English-language originals since 2022.

Her upcoming slate includes the heist thriller Haven, starring Sophie Turner, Jacob Fortune Lloyd and Archie Madekwe; the family drama The Girlfriend with Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke; and the thriller Lazarus, a psychological mystery from Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst that follows a forensic pathologist, played by Sam Claflin, who becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death (played by Bill Nighy) and the murder of his sister (Utopia‘s Alexandra Roach) 25 years ago. On the lighter side, Bauer’s division has also greenlit a new comedy series by and starring Riz Ahmed.

5 Times Deanna Troi Deserved Better On Star Trek: Tng
Image
Counselor Deanna Troi's potential as a character was often overshadowed by poor storylines and objectification in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Troi's storylines frequently revolved around her love life and sexuality, with her intelligence and skills being undervalued. Marina Sirtis, the actress who portrayed Troi, expressed disappointment in the character's portrayal and hoped for more compelling storylines.

This article contains references to sexual assault.

Counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) had the potential to be one of Star Trek: The Next Generation's most interesting characters, but she often got saddled with the worst storylines. Throughout all seven seasons of Tng, Troi served as the counselor on the USS Enterprise-d under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). “The nerf won’t prevent this”: Valorant’s Iso Gets Nerfed and Changed Forever, but Fans Aren’t Sure it’ll Really Do Anything
Image
Valorant’s patch 8.11 changed the game up exponentially. With many of the Duelist agents receiving buffs, this created a meta where two or more duelists on a single team was common. Specifically, Neon and Iso became a problem on the server but Riot Games is already taking action.

On Patch 9.0, an Iso nerf was placed into effect. The Double Tap shield no longer resets and the duration of the ability is shorter. Will this actually take him out of the meta? Or will players continue to play Iso?

Is The Iso Nerf Big Enough? Only time will tell if this nerf is good enough.

The buffs in 8.11 allowed the shield to be reset upon two kills. Iso can already reset the shield after the kill if the player shoots the orb in the air. In addition, the duration in which the shield was active lasted 20 seconds. Essentially, Iso was able...
