In the nineteen seventies, right after Brazil became three times world champion, the best outfit for kids to play soccer was to wear a pair of Kichute, a simple soccer tennis shoes made with cleats on the sole. Every kid in the village who wants to be part of the boys soccer club had to wear them. And that throws Beto into a right of passage test. He has to prove he's ready to face his own problems at his school's bulling attacks, his soccer games rematch against kids from other villages, and most important, he has to deal with his father's demand, who wants him to go to work after school instead of playing soccer.
