Being French and being a rap fan, i was expecting quite something witnessing the birth of one of the most iconic rap crew of the 90s.

The movie is well directed, actors are convincing and photography is astonishing.

I'm not sure the movie portrays the best side of NTM works and writings, but that's subjective and I won't go further, but let's say that if you like musicality you won't eat at your hunger.

The main problem are the characters, they are not likable and the film fails to give them purpose. They are portrayed as poor young ghetto guys but they behave like spoiled children. So you spend all the movie screaming at the screen for the character to take one good decision. They don't seems to be working on the music or lyrics, they insult anyone trying to help them. Which I doubt it's true, they couldn't have had that success being so cocky.

So to sum up my mind it's a « meh » for me, pleasing but not going to recommend it.

Vraiment Bravo à tous et à toute l'équipe exellent travail !

Le film est un chef d'oeuvre.
