Louise Wong in Anita (2021)

Trivia

Anita

Edit
The production crew visited the resting grounds of Anita Mui out of respect and wished for her blessing as they are filming a biopic of her.
Actor Louis Koo recalled that as they shared numerous night scenes filming together, there was a moment when the lights were dim and dark. He actually got a shock when actress Louise Wong appeared in his sight and he got a shock as she bears an uncanny resemblance to Anita Mui.
She made a speech during her final concert saying,"It's every woman's dream to get married and start a family."I thought I would've been married before 30 and have a baby by 32, but I have nothing. What do I have? You guys." (referring to her fans). She further advised fans not to miss opportunities to get married and start a family.
The director revealed that high production costs were incurred to recreate the livery of the early scenes of Hong Kong in the eighties and nineties era. Other than CG imaging, efforts were taken to visit film locations, researching old photos and images of past buildings, music lounges, props such as signboards and former attires. Vintage vehicles such as the iconic Hong Kong taxis and street hawkers were also presented during the era. He felt that it is the responsibility as a filmmaker to showcase these to the audience.
Anita died from cervical cancer with health complications resulting in lung failure in 2003 at age 40. Court documents showed that she was diagnosed with cancer as early in 2001. It was still treatable, but she burdened herself with huge workload and schedules during treatment and she halted and prepare herself for the farewell concerts, scheduling eight concerts at the Coliseum in November.
