The story was good but colour in the animation wasn't good...
I like the forest part of animation that was very beautiful.
Love the girl face and expression.. Pil adventure 2 waiting for that... Make sure your colour is more vibrant..

An unpretentious and cute French animated film, a children's narrative, politically correct and instructive, colorful, with simple lines, a simple medieval script, as always full of adventures, lots of magic and enchantment, a strong and cunning female character, cute little children fighting against an evil traitor, all the ingredients to please children and adults, made for the whole family...
Lia, orphaned by her mother and father, is a cheerful and courageous girl who wanders the streets of the City of Mist, always accompanied by three pet weasels called Toothy, Fluffy and Fatty. The four survive each day by stealing food here and there and sleeping in any place that provides them with some comfort. For some time now, the kingdom has been ruled by the noble Tristan, a cruel man who transformed Roland, the crown prince, into a galigato (half chicken, half cat). One day, during a raid on the castle's pantry, Lia escapes from the guards after putting on some clothes she found nearby. Dressed like this, she is mistaken for a real princess and accepted by the other nobles. It is then that she decides to seize the opportunity to help Roland regain the throne.

I watched this with my 3 and 5 year old at the movies and there is only the one scene which was pretty scary for them but overall it was funny, had a decent story line, and we all enjoyed it. I recommend this as a good family watch.
I really loved this movie and so did my 7 and 12 year old kids. Without adding spoilers I'll just say that the story is cute and the pacing is also perfect with never a boring moment. The dark and evil parts are also not scary. Instead they turned those into something funny. I'm thoroughly entertained and full marks from me. 10/10.
Ok, so firstly, I'm 41 and this film was probably not made for me. I watched it because I love animation - and it did not disappoint, I genuinely really enjoyed it. Yes, it wasn't a particularly original story, however I found the well known tropes amusing in way perhaps children wouldn't. I can't quite figure out who was voicing the main characters in the UK, but apart from Pil who felt a little off, I think they did a good job. The music was amusing, in a fake renaissance way. Another reviewer likened the animation to circa 2005 and that I really didn't see. It obviously wasn't the standard of a big budget Pixar, but that's not what it is! The animal characters in particular were incredibly well crafted; amusing, adorable and believable.
As an adult animation fan, I can definitely attest to it being a worthwhile watch and will be recommending it to my small godchildren who I know will love it.

- TriviaRigolin's uncle is clearly a pastiche of French singer Francis Cabrel.
- GoofsPil is barefoot throughout the movie. In her "street urchin" garb, her feet are very dirty. As soon as she disguises herself as a princess, they suddenly become clean, despite the fact that she has had no opportunity to wash them.
