In real life, Mawi is a khatib (the person who calls for Muslims to perform prayers). That is why he can quote verses in Quran very well. In one scene, he is seen reading a verse usually called Ayat Seribu Dinar, which literally means "A Thousand Dinar Verse", a favorite verse amongst Muslims. It is said that one will get good fortune if he/she reads it frequently.
