"Movie Truck" was a stagnant episode of Bunheads. Nothing really happened that we hadn't already explored, with the exception of Michelle's acceptance of Truly. We can finally see a crack in the door to the possibility of their friendship. Otherwise, not my favorite. 

Fanny took off on a vacation in what appeared to be an attempt to push Michelle into a leadership role at the school. There was even a newly installed stripper pole and the threat of housewives taking classes, but on the adult side, it was all dropped early on for Michelle's birthday, Talia's visit and Truly's induction into Michelle's world.

The remainder of the episode was devoted to the young bunheads, and they still don't rule the roost. Their characters did, however, experience the most forward movement, so let's check it out.

And this is one fiery debut for the film franchise, with eight nominations, including Movie of the Year, Best Cast, Best Female Lead (Jennifer Lawrence), Best Male Performance (Josh Hutcherson), Breakthrough Performance (Liam Hemsworth), Best On-Screen Transformation (Elizabeth Banks), Best Fight (Lawrence and Hutcherson vs. Alexander Ludgwig), and Best Kiss (Lawrence and Hutcherson).

Yep, clearly the kind of credentials that would make any sponsor drool.

Much like the titular death match, the Movie Awards can be a contentious battle, with franchise facing off against franchise, so preparation is key. In this week's Hobnobbing, we're taking on the role of mentor (step aside, Haymitch!) and offering some advice to the tributes.

Back in May during the network upfronts, we got our first look at the all-new police drama Ride Along from Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Terriers), and since then the series has been in production in the Windy City of Chicago awaiting their mid-season premiere. However, Deadline reported recently the series decided to go with The Chicago Code for their official title. In addition, a press release from Fox today announced that the awaited series will finally premiere the day after the Super Bowl on February 7th at 9/8c. While more numbers might have hit the show right after the big game, apparently Fox has already slated an episode of Glee to follow the football festivities (because if there’s one thing football fans love, it’s glitz, glamor and musicals). Yesterday morning we brought you first word on Some Guy Who Kills People, a new film being executive produced by horror legend John Landis (An American Werewolf in London). Today we exclusively learned that Jack Perez (Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, Wild Things 2) will be getting behind the camera to bring Ryan Levin's ("Scrubs", I'm In The Band, The Fifth -- a short film that screened at over 60 film festivals worldwide, winning Best Short Film at Fantasia Fest, Fantastic Fest, Dead by Dawn and Dragon*Con) screenplay to life. In addition, we got more details, which sound pretty kickass: "The film is a horror-comedy about a lonely, small-town loser who sets out to kill each of the men he deems responsible for his miserable life." Shooting begins mid-January. Michael Wormser & Micah Goldman (Penance, Fox pilot "Tease") and Ryan Levin all produce.
