The character of Synni played by Claudia Angelique is a tribute to Anni-Frid Lyngstad from Abba, whose father was a Nazi Officer and her mother Synni was part of Lebensborn in Norway.
The film was shot on Super 16mm film Stock to give it that 1940's look.
The Lebensborn location was a mixture of several community halls linked together with editing, the most used was Coleman Redland Center in Reigate.
The Stuttgart scenes were filmed in the Slovakian village of Kosice, a lot of modern satellite dishes and television aerials had to be removed digitally to bring the town back to 1942.
