The film is one of those motivational stories that goes through the constant process of turning a weak human being into a strong-willed human being, but the form of the story is relatively new. The film is full of action and exciting scenes that take place in a closed space and is always attractive to the viewer. In general, the film attracts the viewer with its exciting story and after seeing it, it receives a good feeling from the film in terms of motivation.
What an amazing action movie. The movie is not just a action flick, but builds a simple story, that kept me hooked till the end with its amazing writing and making.
The action choreographer of this movie deserves all the praise, because he understood his assignment correctly. The action scenes are not just there for its sake, but always blends with the story properly and always is part of resolving the conflict. Its very clear at each point the stakes involved in each action scene and it makes the scenes much more interesting and got me emotionally invested. Each character has its traits even in the action sequences, his strength, weaknesses and unique moves. The acting performances are amazing. Kim min seok gives a amazing performance, he portrays his character arc amazingly. All the other actors who performed in the movie did a great job. All the technical aspects, the camera, music, editing all was done nicely.

This movie is just an average action fighting film. No memorable fighting scene. Not enough character development especially for the mentor of the main character. I think he's there just for the sake of teaching the main character to fight. Character development for the main character was sloppy. He still the same as before except now he know to fight. There's no different in every fight. He still careless, get beat up and looks like he's going to die. Then, for some reason he suddenly have enough energy to fight back. I know the title is Shark : the beginning but they can make a better beginning. In term of production, just ok. So, the movie was good but nothing really special and memorable.
School without teachers
Young offenders institution with no guards
30 year old plus actors pretending to be 18
Incredulous story
Slow boring pace
Nothing happens in the first 45 minutes. I couldn't endure anymore.

Kungfu-fighting, muy tai, mma, ufc wrestling, karate , budo ,judo and boxing at a juvenile level then this is a treat. Verykorean in style and demeanors, hollywoodish in story and hong kongish on plot.
Its a juvenile delinquents story where fighting is done by the pecking order, and as it seems there are few guards and seemingly nonrealistic settings to be a correctional unit of the south korean government, but its a film after all...
there are much fighting, seems like some of the punch lines mustve thrown some of the actors to the medic for mending, and the power of violence is pretty high, the intro especially may make you gap.
So if you hunger for a good fighting film the grumpy old man recommends, but for the squemish rest its just another karate-kid set up. The production all over is a low budgie and not a black tulip like the best of south korean silver screen products.
