Every once in a while, Hulu quietly drops a bunch of great movies without making a big fuss about it. That’s exactly what’s happening right now — there’s a surprisingly strong mix of old and new stuff across a bunch of genres. And while my lists usually lean comedic (you’ll see what I mean when you get to the top two), there’s also some darker, more intense picks for anyone who’s in the mood for something a little heavier. So, whether you’re chasing laughs, chaos, or a good scare, here are my top 7 movies streaming on Hulu right now.

Making its debut atop the Hulu Top 15 Today chart on Tuesday, June 24, the Hulu original documentary “Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything” continued to rank No. 1 on the service in both the overall chart and the movies chart on Wednesday, June 25.

Produced by ABC News Studios and with a run time of 1 hour, 35 minutes, the movie uses rare archival footage and revealing interviews from the iconic journalist’s groundbreaking career to tell the story of one of the most recognizable faces in news.

On the series chart, “General Hospital” ranked No. 1 for the second consecutive day followed by “ABC 20/20” in second and “Love Island (UK)” in third. Rounding out the top five were the Hulu original “Nine Perfect Strangers” and Fox’s “Lego Masters.”

Perry, a mattress store manager, hatches a wild plan to impress the girl of his dreams, but his efforts go off the rails when his fake kidnapping of her brother gets more complicated than he expected. Their plan? Step 1: Kidnap her teenage brother. They don't get to Step 2... It's a "black-comedy gem with a cunning script, a funky soundtrack and a great cast, including rapper Travis Bennett." Joel McHale, a lead for all six seasons of the show Community, has provided an update on the long-awaited movie, which is now likely delayed to mid-to-late 2025 or early 2026. Despite previous reports and social media problems, Joel McHale blames his schedule for the delay, not Donald Glover. The movie is completely financed though. Most of the original cast, except Chevy Chase, will return for the film.

The anticipated Community movie has been given the green light... now, it's just a matter of filming it. During a recent interview with GQ, Joel McHale provided a timeline for production. While Community fans are eager to see the beloved sitcom fulfill its "six seasons and a movie" prophecy, we'll be waiting a bit longer, either near the last quarter of 2025 or early 2026. There were hopes the movie would go into production this year, but McHale shares that won't happen:

Exclusive: Jonathan Glickman has launched Panoramic Media, a multi-platform content venture. The former MGM Motion Picture Group President launches with investment from Gary Barber, Spyglass Media Group, Eagle Pictures, Lantern Entertainment, Pinky Promise and United Talent Agency. Glickman wasn’t putting a number on the investment, but it is significant for the startup, which will be platform agnostic with the financial resources to develop projects across all platforms.

The new capital will fund IP creation across film, television, podcast and digital platforms. Glickman, founder and CEO of the new venture, spent the last two years putting together the funding, a creative team and projects that will be unfurled over time. The new company will expand upon Glickman’s existing slate of projects set up at Netflix, Amazon, MGM, Warner Media, Paramount, and MRC, as well as a joint podcast venture with iHeartMedia.

Victoria Justice (Afterlife of the Party) and Adam Demos (Sex/Life) have signed on to star in an untitled romantic comedy, which Stuart McDonald (Summer Heights High, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) is directing for Netflix.

The film written by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy centers on a hard-driving LA wine-company exec who travels to an Australian sheep station to land a major client. There, she ends up working as a ranch hand and sparking with a rugged local.

Robyn Snyder, Deborah Evans, Deborah Glover, and Tracey Vieira are producing the pic, which will be shot on location in Queensland, Australia.

Tracey Robertson is exec producing with Nathan Mayfield, Elizabeth Hackett, Hilary Galanoy and Fernando Szew.

Production and post-production will be supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy. The film will create around 120 jobs for Queenslanders.

Victoria Justice and Adam Demos are teaming up for a new Netflix romcom, set to film on location in Queensland, Australia.

In the film, Justice stars as a hard-driving L.A. wine-company exec who, in order to land a major client, travels to an Australian sheep station where she ends up working as a ranch hand and sparking with a rugged local.

The as-yet-untitled movie will be directed by Stuart McDonald, from a script by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy, who previously worked with Demos on 2019’s “Falling Inn Love,” which also starred Christina Milian.

The project is produced by Robyn Snyder, Deborah Evans, Deborah Glover and Tracey Vieira. Tracey Robertson, Nathan Mayfield, Hackett, Galanoy and Fernando Szew serve as executive producers.

Both Justice and Demos have a history with the streamer, as Justice is next set to star in the Netflix movie “Afterlife of the Party” and Demos starred in the steamy drama “Sex/Life.
