The storyline is good. But because it's a Ramadan show (it needs to last for the 30 days of Ramadan), the pace is slow and the story is stretched to the max. All the actors speak in a soft manner all the time, which makes you want to fall asleep. Too melodramatic!! Violins throughout the 30ish hours of it!!
There's A LOT of smoking, all the time. It's disgusting how much every character smokes. And it's not particularly useful for the story of the characters identities. Mix of Lebanese and Syrian accent, which just makes it weird. Anyone watching this thinking this is a realistic depiction of Lebanese society, it's not! Maybe 60% accurate, not more.
Good aspects: 2 strong leading female roles and some minor female roles that are strong too. The visuals are beautiful and the camera angles are well thought. The colour themes and the decors are stunning.

Totally enjoyed the sentiments and story of Series 1. Settled back to watch the second series and I am now into a gangster series - slow, no plot, too many superfluous characters who can't act, wooden emotions by main cast and quite frankly wondering if I can go on any more. Am on episode 4. The cliff hanger at the end had me looking forward to this but seems like Lebanon is full of beautiful men surrounded by the prostitutes they would rather love than the other beautiful women around them. Can't see the reason for the attraction because the story never gave it to me. You kill my mother and I will still love you - really?
I thought I was going to watch Megan Fox's til death but it turned out to be something completely different. And I have to admit that I was very impressed. I've never seen a Lebanese TV series before but this was incredible. The plot was quite straightforward but Very well acted, great locations, local culture and dialogue exchanges. The tension is well maintained with some good twists. Everyone really brings their characters to life. Not to mention a Gorgeous cast. The subs for me move quickly but I can get the gist of what's going on. The scenes are visually appealing and I hope Netflix picks this up because people need to see this. There's a lot of TV shows from Japan and Korea Netflix is picking up. They need to get this one of they haven't already.
Powerful Performances by the Leads Maguy Bou and Daniella Rahme. It's my first watch of an entire season of a Lebanese Series as I am from India . I fell in love with both female leads ...I was able to see their light shining through despite the darkness their characters Reem and Sahar have to display . As a woman watcher.... I was SO MOVED by their passionate acting skills... I actually found myself kissing their foreheads on screen in the last episode to empathize because Maguy and Daniella were believable.. convincing ...they felt so real . I WISH TO THANK THE ENTIRE TEAM ...on and off screen SCRIPT WRITERS CAST SELECTORS PRODUCERS DIRECTORS EDITORS ALL ACTORS for composing a Masterpiece filled with a cast who remain power houses of talent each in their own league. I was so hungry and thirsty for a good story ...TILL DEATH exceeded my expectations and turned out to be a spiritually soul-searching series about love and loss, forgiveness and repentance, family....friends and enemies. It also takes betrayal to an entirely new level, but I believe our sad world is indeed filled with wolves in sheep's clothing. TILL DEATH makes you expect the best.. but prepares you for the worst. I was at the edge of my seat in suspense during so many scenes and could never guess what would happen next. I AM A FAN NOW OF THE ENTIRE CAST...I PLAN TO WATCH THEM AND LOOK FOR THEM NOW IN OTHER LEBANESE SERIES....the STARS both positive and negative roles, played their parts perfectly with legends of Lebanese Cinema in it too . I VOTE .. TILL DEATH THE BEST FOREIGN SERIES I WATCHED THIS YEAR 2022. Please allow India to see Season 2. On Netflix. Beebbik kittir MAGUY AND DANIELLA my sisters !!! Masalama Au Revoir Thinking now to the characters of Reem Sahar, Hadi, Basel, Najah, Omar, Sariah & Her Husband, Amir, Darling Hanane & Darling Abdallah, Mahmoud with his parents, Lamees Rasheed , Mona..and Little Khouloud as I LEARNT SO MUCH FROM THEM. I can still hear the VIOLINS play in my mind...Je t'aime..Je t'aime. .all of you. Much love and prayers from India. GOD be with you all. We are One Love...One Family. Ameen.
As American to me to Lebanon several times, it one can't help but be struck by the beauty of it's people and love of life, in spite of the circumstances. This is true-life story of the wealthy, the poor, the governmental problems and Lebanese people's hope of getting me the most out of life in spite if it's corrupt government. The two seasons are about two girls that grow up as strong women trying to out live their desperate origins. The story demonstrates how difficult it is to simply earn a living and provide for their families and the corrupt who do anything to rise above the property. Acting, clothing and scenes are masterful. A little redundant in parts but overall a winner with actors who could give the Americans lessons.
