Fascinating, oftentimes maddening, and occasionally overdramatic, Good American Familyis thoroughly addictive television. Like its limited-series cousins, The Act, Adolescence, and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the Hulu series presents a seemingly harmless child—or family—that are not who they appear to be. Or maybe they are. Either way, the tension builds to such a degree that you want to reach inside the screen and shake some of the characters you’re watching.

Paul Scheer's Twisters cameo is unexpected, and while it was fun to see the actor make a small appearance in the film, the reason why he was in the movie is still a bit mysterious. Twisters is a legacy sequel to the 1996 hit Twister, and despite the two films being part of the same franchise, there are very few references to the original movie. No original Twister characters return in Twisters, which is why it is a bit strange that the film gave Paul Scheer a cameo and not anyone from the original cast.
Scheer is a comedian and actor who has appeared in some incredibly popular projects, such as Veep, Fresh Off the Boat, and Big City Greens. His most popular TV shows, however, are FX's The League and Showtime's Black Monday, both of which got Scheer even more notoriety in the TV comedy circuits. However, one...

Created by Jeff & Jackie Schaffer, one of FX's most popular comedy series was "The League," which ran for seven seasons from 2009 to 2015. The raucous sitcom follows a group of friends in Chicago who run a highly competitive fantasy football league every year, creating their own challenges, rewards, and penalties. Along the way, the ensemble endures their own hilarious highs and lows involving romance and family life in between planning their fantasy teams. Throughout the show's run, the group is joined by several memorable guest stars and recurring characters, including the occasional real-life football player getting in on the fun.
Led by a solid ensemble cast of talented comedians, "The League" introduced beloved, crass characters framed against the backdrop of fantasy sports. Since the show's ending in 2015, many of the cast members have gone on to continue their film and television careers, while others haven't reached the same level of success.

It’s no secret that football is the most popular sport in the United States. In fact, football games, both college and professional, oftentimes take up roughly 90% of the 100 most-watched events in America every year. One of the main reasons folks love football is the simple fact that there are so few games. This creates more anticipation. Unlike other sports like baseball, basketball, and hockey, football seasons are only 17 games. The playoffs include a maximum of four extra games, which means the most any team can play in one year is 21 times. Up until now, there hasn’t been a drama series that surrounds the NFL. There have only been camera crews that follow teams around. All of that is likely changing in the near future, though.

The Rob Lowe-hosted game show The Floor is getting low marks from actor and comedian Paul Scheer, who’s labeled it the “dumbest game show ever” in a new video. The start of fall can only mean one thing: your fantasy football season is already a lost cause. While the season evokes images of foliage and pumpkins for most, the cynics associate it with the unbearable frustration of playing fantasy football. In this long-running online game, users manage an imaginary football squad with other competitors that is scored based on the performance of real-life players in the NFL. It's a game that suggests that one's knowledge of football and the statistics behind the gridiron can determine one's success in a season, but in reality, it is primarily based on pure luck, with the least informed people about the sport somehow stumbling their way to a championship. This particular phenomenon surrounding fantasy football, a niche subculture, would seem inaccessible to a mass audience. However, one show from the late 2000s, The League, captured this precise sensation of the game, one based...

The hot streak at the summer box office remains alive and well as director Lee Isaac Chung's "Twisters" did much, much better on opening weekend than anyone expected it to. The standalone sequel to the classic 1996 summer blockbuster "Twister" had been expected to open in the $50 million range based on early tracking numbers. Some analysts, however, had predicted that the disaster flick would open much higher. That proved to be true, so much so that Chung's crowd-pleaser has found its way into the record books with the biggest opening weekend ever for a disaster movie in the U.S.
Universal Pictures' "Twisters" took in an estimated $80.5 million domestically, easily topping the charts this past weekend. With that, it breaks a very specific record held by Roland Emmerich's "The Day After Tomorrow," which hit theaters 20 years ago in 2004. That film opened to $68.7 million domestically and, ever since, that...

The summer box office has rebounded in recent weeks thanks to the blockbuster success of animated movies like "Despicable Me 4" and Pixar's "Inside Out 2," which is already one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. We also had a blockbuster horror breakout in the form of "A Quiet Place: Day One." But has the time come for an old-school blockbuster to become a theatrical hit? If the early numbers are any indication, it appears as though "Twisters" will indeed keep the hot streak alive as the disaster flick figures to get off to a promising start.
"Twisters" is currently eyeing an opening weekend between $40 and $55 million domestically when it arrives next weekend, per The Hollywood Reporter. That said, tracking from other outlets suggests that is a modest number even on the high end. Box Office Theory has the film taking in anywhere between $71 and $83 million in its debut.

Justice League covers have been iconic, featuring epic battles and memorable artwork. Key issues include the rivalry between Batman and Guy Gardner, the "Countdown to Crisis" story, and the "Tower of Babel" arc. The League's history includes team-ups with the Justice Society of America and significant events like "Crisis on Infinite Earths."
First introduced in the pages of The Brave and the Bold #28, The Justice League quickly became arguably the most iconic superhero team in comics -- especially at DC. Made up of the publisher's A-list heroes, the team has since undergone a variety of changes, and been written into some of the best stories in print. As with any comic book, the title has been sold in part thanks to its eye-catching and thrilling covers, some of which stand out among the best.

If it’s true that comedy equals tragedy plus time, Paul Scheer has a serious advantage. While audiences may recognize him as the earnestly delusional Andre from The League or as the satirical action star of Ntsf:sd:suv::, Scheer’s past isn’t as funny as his work — as evidenced by his new memoir, Joyful Recollections of Trauma. In the book, the actor, comedian, podcaster, and writer/director uncovers a layer of darkness he’s previously only hinted at, reflecting on his childhood, including abuse from his stepfather, and his longtime obsession with Hollywood.

As comedy has shifted the bounds of acceptable content, some shows continue to push the line between problematic and funny. Unlike some comedians insist, good comedy series like It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia push the boundary of what is allowed on television. Hapless, a new series streaming on Peacock, looks to bring the same energy from a crew of British comedians. It approaches its comedy with traditional sitcom approaches, but unlike many shows, it lets the humor spiral out of control. Most importantly, it gives its stars the material to milk the most laughs possible out of the punchlines. The show is very funny, even if it occasionally feels too similar to the Curb Your Enthusiasm or The League.
Hapless Plot
Hapless follows Paul Green (Tim Downie), a British journalist completing stories for The Jewish Enquirer. As Paul investigates various stories, he comes into contact with different aspects of Jewish and secular British culture.

Jerry Seinfeld was delighted to join his friend Larry David for Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s finale, the comedian said this week, adding that the series’ Seinfeld tie-in helped elevate his own show’s conclusion.
“I think connecting the two finales [was the way to go],” Seinfeld told Vanity Fair. When Curb Your Enthusiasm concluded earlier this month, its series finale mirrored many of the details from Seinfeld‘s 1998 finale, with both shows featuring their main characters on trial for breaking a recondite local law. Seinfeld‘s final episode was written by David, and Seinfeld returned to play himself for the final installment of Curb.
Seinfeld said this week he told David yes right away upon being approached with the idea. “That just seemed like nothing but fun,” he said. “And I just love hanging out with Larry. We always just laugh all day long.”

Like Curb Your Enthusiasm, I Think You Should Leave explores awkward social situations with hilarious results. You're The Worst is full of Los Angeles in-jokes and parodies of celebrity culture, similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm. The League and Nathan for You offer improv-based comedy similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm's unique retro-scripting approach.
With Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm finally coming to an end after a 24-year-long run, there's a need to find other series that can fill that comedy void. Curb Your Enthusiasm was created by David, who also stars in the show as a fictionalized version of himself. It originated as a one-hour special filmed in 1999 titled Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm. The special was so well received that HBO ordered it to series. Curb Your Enthusiasm has been critically acclaimed, earning 51 Primetime Emmy Award nominations over 12 seasons.
It may seem impossible to match Curb Your Enthusiasm...

Despite some of the Ssu movies getting mixed or negative reviews (like Morbius), the Ssu keeps going and now has many live-action and animated projects in the works, focusing on Spider-Man’s side characters and villains. ‘Madame Web’ came out on February 14th and didn’t do well, with Dakota Johnson criticizing its development publicly.
Upcoming releases include ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on August 30th, 2024, and ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ which changed its release date to October 25th instead of November 3rd. ‘Venom’ is the most successful franchise in the Ssu, so it’s not surprising that there are reports of Feige wanting to bring him into the MCU.

While many channels now have schedules that mostly consist of reruns, syndicated shows, and licensed movies, there is one that has maintained the quality that was achieved in the golden era of cable television -- FX.

FX has had to do a lot to sustain itself, but between smart programming decisions, a partnership with Hulu, and a bit of luck, the channel has continued to thrive. FX is in the news...
