Parker Bagley was initially cast as Jason Dilaurentis in Pretty Little Liars season 1 before being replaced by Drew Van Acker in season 2. The recasting was necessary due to the increased demands of the role as Jason's presence in the show grew in season 2. Bagley's career declined after leaving Pretty Little Liars, with his last acting credit in 2011 and legal troubles in 2013.

Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Mike Castle (Family Trap), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black), Ryan Pinkston (Tower Prep), Matt Cook (True Blood) and George Wendt (Cheers) star in the ensemble comedy set in Charlestown, Mass. Kevin Smith and Paul Dini opened up a can of worms during a recent chat on Smith's podcast "Fatman on Batman." During a discussion about the Cartoon Network series "Beware the Batman," Dini explained why Cartoon Network and other networks that air superhero cartoons aren't trying to grab a female audience in addition to their male one.
"They're all for boys -- 'We do not want the girls.' I mean, I've heard executives say this, you know, not [at Disney Xd] but at other places, saying like, 'We do not want girls watching this show,'" he tells an incredulous Smith. "They. Do. Not. Buy. Toys. The girls buy different toys."
As io9 points out, action figures and role-playing toys accounted for $1.39 billion in the Toy Industry Association's published sales data in 2012, while the sale of dolls accounted for $2.69 billion. While Smith laments in the interview that executives are being lazy by...

Gal Gadot is going to have her own action figure soon. She is — for more than just the cinematic medium — going to become the face of Wonder Woman for a new generation of girls and boys looking to have the Justice League invade Castle Grayskull with the Ninja Turtles. Of course, even though she’ll be immortalized in plastic, she’s still merely a side character in Batman vs Superman. She may even be a cameo, but there’s still probably a toy executive meeting with a Warners executive right now to wring their hands over how well such a toy will sell. As if we needed proof of such a scenario, veteran geek property producer Paul Dini revealed recently that the biggest threat to the smart women in his Tower Prep series lived at Toys ‘R’ Us. Don’t read if you’re one eye roll away from a coma. Here...

A couple of weeks ago, it was rumored that the Batman villain Firefly/Garfield Lynns was set to appear in a future episode of The CW's Arrow, which was recently picked up by the network for a full season. Now, Entertainment Weekly confirm that the villain will make his debut on the show on its tenth episode, titled "Burned". The episode is scheduled to air in early 2013. Actor Andrew Dunbar (Tower Prep, Battlestar Galactica: Razor) will play Firefly. In the comics, Garfield Lynns becomes a villain after suffering severe burns as a firefighter. As with every character on Arrow, expect this take on Firefly to be more grounded/realistic than the comic book version. You can check out Arrow on The CW Wednesdays at 8 Pm Est. This is the first part of the weekend monster update, with more news & stuff coming in the next couple of days.
I got my Grimms confused in yesterday's post as it turns out. Tonight's episode won't be "Let Your Hair Down," but "The Three Bad Wolves." Rapunzel doesn't show up until next week.
Nick (David Giuntoli) is called to a suspected arson case, which exposes a longstanding family feud that brings Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) face-to-face with characters from his troubled past. While Monroe wrestles with restraining his wild side, it’s up to Nick to keep everything from going up in flames. Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star. There are a few sneak peeks at THR and Dread Central. Spoiler TV has the promotional stills. Here is the teaser:
Yesterday's excellent "Danse Macabre," which did well in the ratings, is available on NBC.com.

Watch the Scarecrow Episode of R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour and Then Vote for Your Favorite Ending
On Saturday, December 10th, The Hub network will present two different endings for one new episode of its award-winning series “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series.” Both endings of "Scarecrow," guest starring Bailee Madison, will be presented back-to-back. In this rare instance kids of all ages can watch the same story with a classic, creepy twist as well as a version where good triumphs over evil.
In this spine-tingling episode (which airs at 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Et), a scarecrow appears in a field where a young farmer's daughter (Bailee Madison, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark) and her brother (Richard Harmon, “Tower Prep”) begin to suspect that it means to drive off more than just the crows and suddenly find themselves fighting for survival.
Following the second episode, viewers can visit The Hub website to vote for their favorite ending of the “Scarecrow" episode.

We largely covered the Tony Awards last night, but here’s a list of Neil Patrick Harris’ best jokes. He had a lot of them. When can we elect him our leader?
In news that seems to surprise some, but not me, the “Gay Girl In Damascus” lesbian blogger rumored to have been kidnapped never existed. It was a 40-year-old American man.
Ron Nyswaner, the gay writer behind Philadelphia, is currently producing a movie with Jesse Eisenberg and Tracy Morgan. He attempts the most insulting apologist piece about Morgan to date. There were tears? You bet there were tears, but Morgan’s don’t interest me.
Author Anna Quindlen gave the commencement address at Grinnell College, and what she said doesn’t distill well. But the heart of it seems to be that the baby boomers have destroyed America by focusing on money, but today’s youth can rebuild it.

Humanistic Films has announced a summer 2011 start date for the high school movie The Science of Cool. Steve Guttenberg, Kiowa Gordon (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), and Eden Sher (The Middle) have joined the cast, which includes The O.C. co-stars Mischa Barton and Willa Holland, Drew Van Acker (Tower Prep), Guy Kent (The Day the Music Died), Matt Dallas (Kyle Xy), and Rumer Willis (Sorority Row). The plot centers on "two high school nerds who discover a secret chemical formula when a science experiment goes terribly wrong that transforms them into the coolest kids in school; but with greatness comes great consequences." The film has been in development for a few years now -- Eric and Patricia Goren first wrote the script in 2008. At one point Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) and Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights) were attached, but sadly both dropped out due to prior commitments. William Zabka is on board to direct.

Summit Entertainment has reportedly found the depicter of teen Renesmee for "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn". Words are, Burke will appear in a flashforward scene with Taylor Lautner who plays werewolf Jacob. The studio, however, declined to comment when reached by Entertaiment Weekly about the news.
Burke's credits include Wrigley's commercial, a guest star role on Cartoon Network's live action series "Tower Prep", and small parts in a couple of movies.

Caprica 1x18, "Apotheosis," airs tonight at 10 pm on Space in Canada. Here is the synopsis (spoilers):
Daniel (Eric Stoltz), Amanda (Paula Malcomson), and Zoe (Alessandra Torresani) race to stop Clarice's (Polly Walker) master plan and save thousands of lives before Caprica is changed forever.
The last episode of the season was written by Jane Espenson and directed by Jonas Pate.
Here is what they say about it at Spacecast.com:
This is the final episode of the series, and there will be surprisingly more closure than you’d expect for a series that didn’t get the life cycle we all hoped it would. The last bit of the episode has an amazing montage with a glimpse into the future and the ongoing mythology of the Caprica/BSG world.
And just so there is no confusion: "Apotheosis" was not written as a series finale. There was a detailed outline...

Tower Prep is the new live-action adventure series from The Cartoon Network. Judas Kiss' very own Richard Harmon (full disclosure: I'm a producer on the film) is one of the characters on the show; unfortunately, he isn't the lead.
As a consolation prize, the main character of the new series is one Ian Archer, who mysteriously winds up at a school for students "gifted" with super-powers. Think Heroes meets 902910.
Archer is played by one Drew Van Acker, a former Abercrombie and Fitch model turned actor. While I have no first-hand knowledge of how good the series is, I can say that Mr. Acker's prior work has been... revealing, especially since some of the poses were for Genre, the lifestyle magazine for gay men.

Political trouble on Tauron causes Sam to put his own life in danger.
Elsewhere, SciFiTV.com.au has posted a video chat with Ryan Robbins. He mostly talks about Sanctuary, but there are some interesting bits about Caprica and the characters he played on Battlestar Galactica. As it turns out, there was one we didn't get to see (Head Baltar).
Paula Malcomson won't only appear in episode 1x06 of The Event, but also episode 1x07, "I Know Who You Are." SpoilerTV has the synopsis.

Premiering tonight on Cartoon Network, Tower Prep is a new live-action, hour-long series aimed at young adults. The show follows a group of teens with special powers held at a mysterious boarding school of an undisclosed location and agenda.
If you thought your high school experience was odd, try not remembering how you got to this prep school in the first place (and in one character’s case, not even remembering anything before arriving at said school) and being faced with nameless adult authority figures. Yes, it’s just “Head Master” or “Nurse” to these kids, but this is no Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning.
Executive producer and writer, Paul Dini (Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), of comics and animation cred, talks about the inspiration behind the series:
“This was an idea that always intrigued me ever since I went to boarding school some years back.

Cartoon Network's latest venture into live-action is its most sophisticated series yet. In terms of movie-related programming, the San Diego Comic-Con ends on Saturday. The schedule for Sunday, July 25th is now online and it’s “Kids’ Day”. That means there are a lot of Nickelodeon and Disney Channel panels as well as craft panels and screenings that are perfect for parents.
For geeks though, Sunday is all about picking up that last-minute collectible, walking the floor, or seeing some TV panels. Hall H isn’t even open on Sunday, so instead all eyes turn to the second biggest room, Ballroom 20, where the biggest panel of the day by far is the one for Glee. But that’s not all. Smallville, Supernatural and Castle all will have presentations on Sunday too. And panels featuring Sons of Anarchy and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are pretty much guaranteed to slap Kids’ Day in the face.
You can check out the schedules for Thursday,...

Cartoon Network has picked up its first two original scripted live-action series: "Tower Prep" and "Unnatural History."
The cable network has ordered 13 episodes of each hourlong show, with production slated to begin in January.
Cartoon Network's transition from all-animated fare to a new emphasis on live-action series and movies was front and center during its upfront presentation in March, when "Tower Prep" (then called "Prepped") and "History" were announced as the network's first live-action scripted pilots.
"These new series will offer our viewers a type of action-packed event entertainment not found anywhere else," said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer at Cartoon.
Action thriller "Tower Prep" centers on a rebellious teen (Drew Van Acker) who is trapped at a mysterious prep school for students with "unique potential." Paul Dini is the writer-executive producer on the project from Cartoon Network Studios and Dolphin Entertainment.
