A trailer for a new dramedy from FX has just premiered. Michelle Williams deals with her difficult journey to fight cancer by enlisting her friend, played by Jenny Slate, to find her a man. A man who can give her something she’s never experienced — an orgasm. The hunt for the right man ensues as Williams and Slate hit online dating, trying out a variety of guys from different sexually active age ranges and love-making styles.
FX’s Dying for Sex is inspired by the story of Molly Kochan, originally shared on a Wondery podcast created with her best friend, Nikki Boyer. After Molly (Michelle Williams) receives a diagnosis of Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, she decides to leave her husband, Steve (Jay Duplass) and begins to explore the full breadth and complexity of her sexual desires for the first time in her life. Michelle Williams is currently starring on Broadway in Death Becomes Her and someone sent her fan mail to the theatre, but thought she was the other Michelle Williams!
The Destiny’s Child singer shared a video of herself reading a letter she received from a fan in Germany, who thought she was the Oscar-nominated actress.
“I received this letter, and I can’t wait to dig in and tell you guys what it says. Alright, it says, ‘Dear Michelle Williams, I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. My name is Philip, and I have been an avid fan of your incredible performances in both film and theater,’” Michelle began.
While Michelle is best known for singing, she has made several Broadway appearances and has appeared in some movies too. But as the letter continued, it was clear the person intended it for the other Michelle.

One of last year's biggest box office bombs has become a hit on Amazon Prime Video as the Robbie Williams biopic, Better Man - the singing anthropomorphic chimpanzee movie - hit number two in the United States and Canada. As of this writing, the film sits at numbers six and five, respectively.
The film premiered at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival last August before debuting on Christmas Day in the United States and in Australia and the UK the next day. Despite its surprisingly high 88% critical and 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the $110 million production completely bombed at the box office. It earned a measly $20.3 million worldwide with only $1.9 million domestic. That doesn't include marketing costs and revenue sharing with theaters, which could make it one of the biggest box office bombs in history.

Joining Briarcliff in bringing this visionary film to the big screen are global independent music powerhouses Lakeshore Records and Broadway Records, in partnership with Hero Entertainment and Rainmaker Films. Rachel Zegler is ready to unleash her Disney princess superpower in the latest teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Snow White movie. While Rapunzel has her sentient hair, and Elsa can conjure snow and frost to spectacular results, the Fairest of Them All can summon an army of woodland creatures with her melodious singing voice. Zegler, known for her pipes, belts one out for the latest Snow White promo, giving fans a taste of the magic of the mouse-eared studio’s latest live-action adaptation of an animated classic.
Despite a lack of enthusiasm for Snow White, the enchanted film is tracking for a $53M debut in North America. Disney is doing everything it can to get potential audience members psyched for the reimagining of a stone-cold classic. Disney’s Snow White live-action remake — starring Rachel Zegler as the iconic princess — is tracking to open to $53 million at the North American box office, according to a leading Hollywood research firm. While that’s the target number, the range is anywhere from $48 million to $58 million.
There’s sure to be plenty of debate as to whether that would be a solid-versus-meh start for the spring tentpole.
Directed by Marc Webb, the musical fantasy opens in three weeks, on March 21. Gal Gadot stars as the Evil Queen in the reimagining of the 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (the movie was a transformational moment for Walt Disney’s young studio).
The studio’s marketing team will now unleash its final push for Snow White. Disney believes the movie has a perfect runway, considering it will be surrounded by male-driven action fare.

This is not a drill! It's been a long, long time since audiences have taken a trip to Far, Far Away but "Shrek 5" is going to bring us back there next year. As evidence of that, DreamWorks has released the first, brief teaser for the long-awaited sequel -- one that introduces us to the cast. Most of them are familiar faces but there is one new, very important addition: Welcome to the family, Zendaya.
While the above teaser doesn't make it explicitly clear who the star of "Dune" and "Challengers" is playing in the film, the folks at The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that she is voicing the daughter of Shrek and Fiona. The teaser also confirms that Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), and Eddie Murphy (Donkey) are also reprising their famous roles. Robbie Williams biopic Better Man is coming to Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this April – more on the release here.
The biopic of Robbie Williams, Better Man, arrived in the UK with a poster that had been liberally splatted with very high star ratings. The same is also true for the incoming physical media release for the movie, with Better Man landing on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in the UK from 7th April.
Critically at least, the film had the last laugh. There was something of ‘are they really doing that?’ when it was first revealed that Robbie Williams would be, well, a monkey in the biopic. The conceit worked a treat though, and the actual film – from The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey – was a solid hit at the UK box office.
Less so overseas, and many of the headlines have been generated...

Though these CGI... people do look quite a bit like their diminutive animated counterparts - Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey - they are not expected to be referred to as Dwarfs in the movie.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall: who's the most nostalgic trailer of them all? Disney is leaning into the love people have for their classic films with their latest teaser trailer for their live-action remake of Snow White. The upcoming American musical fantasy film — directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson — may still be over a month out from hitting the big screen, but that gives us plenty of time for more footage from the featured to be released. And the Mouse House even added in a few retro title cards to pay homage to their extensive history.
The new clip features stars Rachel Zegler as the titular Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Dujonna Gift as Maple, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Colin Michael Carmichael as Farno as they sing and dance...

A new international poster for Disney’s live-action Snow White remake has been shared online, giving us another look at Shazam! Fury of the Gods' Rachel Zegler as the titular Princess, and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
It remains to be seen if Zegler and Gadot can win over their doubters by doing justice to the classic animated characters, but they do certainly look the part on this latest one-sheet.

When director James Mangold assembled his sound department for “A Complete Unknown,” it was largely made up of artists with whom he had worked before — re-recording mixers David Giammarco and Paul Massey, supervising sound editor Donald Sylvester, supervising music editor Ted Caplan — but production sound mixer Tod Maitland was new to the team. And while Maitland has plenty of complex musicals on his resume, including “The Greatest Showman” and Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” he quickly realized that “A Complete Unknown” was going to be his most challenging music-oriented film yet.
Initially, Maitland and Mangold discussed the possibility of shooting the musical performances in “A Complete Unknown” in the traditional manner, to playback with the actors lip-syncing to pre-recorded tracks. “There was the idea that we might use playback for some scenes, depending on how Timmy [Chalamet] was doing,” Maitland told IndieWire. “We didn’t want to waste time with earwigs and timing mechanisms.

Disney’s live-action Snow White movie has hit long-range box office tracking, and the forecast is... not great.
According to Deadline, the movie is looking at a 3-day start of $63 million - $70 million, while other sources believe $65M at this point in time is more accurate.
While this wouldn't usually be seen as a disastrous opening (especially if overseas numbers are stronger), for this particular movie, it simply might not be good enough.
A recent Forbes article revealed that Snow White's budget had ballooned to a whopping $269.4 million by the end of 2023 (current reports put it at $250M), which puts a lot of pressure on the movie to become a massive box office success.
This is just an early estimate, but if those numbers don't go up as we draw closer to the film's March release, Disney could have a major flop on its hands.

Hugh Jackman has been one of the most versatile and dedicated actors in Hollywood. We’ve loved him as the gruff and adamantium-clawed Wolverine in X-Men and award-winning musicals like The Greatest Showman. On the other hand, Ke Huy Quan’s career reads like an actual movie script.

Earlier this week, Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman cancelled his planned concert in London's Hyde Park on July 6. Performing at an event as big as the BST Hyde Park festival would have been a huge deal for the actor and isn't something it's easy to pull out of.
Taking to X, Jackman said, "Due to an unforeseen conflict in my schedule, I am deeply disappointed to announce I will be unable to perform in Hyde Park this July 6th." At the event, the actor was set to perform songs from the likes of The Boy from Oz, Les Miserables, The Music Man, and The Greatest Showman.
As you've probably figured out from the headline, it hasn't taken Marvel fans long to put 2+2 together and conclude that this must mean Jackman will be too busy shooting Avengers: Doomsday to perform in London.
It's a compelling theory, especially as the movie...

Amidst the Justin Baldoni legal drama, you would expect Jackman to keep his distance from Reynolds. However, not only did he shower love on him at the Saturn Awards where he appeared via video, but he also refused to joke about Reynolds.

Exclusive: Following the recent success of You’re Cordially Invited, Amazon MGM Studios is ramping up pre-production on another Will Ferrell comedy, with sources telling Deadline that Zac Efron is now set to star alongside him. Like You’re Cordially Invited, Nicholas Stoller is directing from his own script.
The new comedy follows a young convict (Efron) fresh out of prison who takes a reality TV courtroom hostage blaming the megalomaniac TV judge (Ferrell) for a past ruling that the convict feels ruined his life.
Producers include Stoller Global Solutions’ Stoller and Gloria Sanchez Productions’ Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown.
The film reunites Efron with Amazon MGM following his role in Ricky Stanicky, which debuted on Prime Video last year.
Recently, Efron wrapped production on Famous, director Jody Hill’s latest feature film, a provocative Los Angeles-set thriller that explores the dark side of celebrity.

Christopher Nolan's next film is officially titled The Odyssey and is sailing rapidly toward a Summer 2026 release date. An adaptation of Homer's epic poem of the same name, the upcoming film serves as Nolan's highly anticipated follow-up to 2023's Oppenheimer, which earned him his first Academy Award for Best Director. Naturally, a lot is riding on the success of Nolan's next film.
Thankfully, Nolan isn't compromising with his next film's cast. Eight stars have been confirmed to appear in The Odyssey, including multiple up-and-coming movie stars, several Academy Award winners, and a few actors Nolan has previously worked with. Audiences will surely recognize most of the cast members in The Odyssey, though their respective roles have yet to be confirmed.

As the films of 2024 alone have demonstrated, there's still a good amount of confusion about how a movie musical should function in our modern age. Even 2016's "La La Land," the film that ended up bringing back the popularity of the movie musical in a big way, wasn't interested in fully leaning into its ode to the movie musicals of classic Hollywood, using it instead as a jumping off point, a wry commentary on the subgenre and cinema itself. Since then, it's felt like each new movie musical has had to find some offbeat justification for its existence: this one is a multi-part blockbuster event ("Wicked"), this one is an anti-musical musical ("Emilia Pérez"), this one has a monkey in it ("Better Man"), and so on. Even "Chicago" director Rob Marshall, who for many years seemed to willfully bear the torch of keeping the more traditional movie musical alive, has...

The friendly banter between ‘Deadpool’ co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman does not look to be nearing a conclusion anytime soon.
Jackman was so ready to kick his Radio City Music Hall residency into high gear, but Reynolds had to be there looking for a ‘Les Miserables’ act. The cheek, right?
Ryan Reynolds Reveals Real Reason He Crashed Hugh Jackman’s Residency
It was Friday night and everything was going great out on the floor. Well, until the ‘Greatest Showman’ star opened the floor for audience questions, and surprise, his old frenemy Ryan Reynolds popped up onstage with a microphone.
“Hello, Hugh, it’s Ryan,” Reynolds announced.
“You have a microphone!” A none-too-happy Jackman replied.
“You can just bring one of these!” Reynolds joked. “I’ll lend you mine in a minute.”
But that wasn’t all the poking he did whilst he shared the floor – and the mic! – with Jackman.

Musical biopics have become so regular in today's Hollywood landscape that movies are trying anything and everything to stand above the rest. Interestingly, in 2024, several musical biopics were released, such as Bob Marley's One Love, Back to Black and the Academy Award-nominated A Complete Unknown. Although technically a documentary with major artistic license, Pharell Williams' Piece by Piece told his professional and life story through the lens of LEGOs. It was an incredibly inspired and fascinating choice that interested audiences who weren't aware of how impactful Pharell Williams had been on the music industry. The movie went as far as to show real-life interviews and testimonials in Lego form, adding a beautifully colorful and nostalgic view to one of music's modern savants. Another movie that took an incredibly inspired chance in 2024 was the musical biopic of British superstar Robbie Williams: Better Man, where Williams is portrayed by a CGI monkey.

Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson’s sci-fi action thriller Mercy is being shown little of the stuff by Amazon MGM Studios, as the film has been given a hefty kick into 2026. Originally scheduled to go up against Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2 on August 15, 2025, fans will now have to wait until January 23, 2026, to see the movie arrive in theaters.
Mercy is directed by Timur Bekmambetov, who previously at the helm of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and 2016’s Ben-Hur remake, and follows a detective (played by Pratt) who attempts to clear his name after being accused of a crime he did not commit. Considering that Jennifer Lopez has proven for decades that she’s a bonafide triple threat as an actress, singer, and dancer, it’s truly shocking that she has never starred in a musical. Sure, she’s played singers before in movies, but Lopez has never been a part of a bombastic, old-school Hollywood-type musical that allows her to flex her talents simultaneously. She finally gets her chance with the latest adaptation of Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by Bill Condon—a man who knows his way around a musical, considering he directed Dreamgirls, as well as wrote Chicago and The Greatest Showman. Naturally, Lopez becomes the shining star in a musical that's a mixed bag when it pivots away from her.

Jennifer Lopez has never gotten a lot of love from fans or critics when it comes to her acting career, but all that seems to be changing thanks to her most recent performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is getting rave reviews coming out of Sundance this past weekend. Lopez has been nominated for more Golden Raspberry Awards than she has Golden Globes in her 30-year career in Hollywood, but next year's Oscar buzz has already started thanks to director Bill Condon's musical thriller, in which Lopez stars as Ingrid Luna.
Fans and critics have been singing the praises of Lopez since Kiss of the Spider Woman's debut on Jan. 26, with Pete Hammond from Deadline calling it "the role she was born to play," while at the same time mentioning that the movie itself is "a master class in how to find the cinematic soul of...

Jennifer Lopez, outfitted in a sparkling, webbed-up gown and sky-high black heels, fought back tears as “Kiss of the Spider Woman” was embraced at Sundance Film Festival with a standing ovation. She told the audience at Park City’s Eccles Theatre that starring in the musical adaptation fulfilled a lifelong dream.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she said. “The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and [‘West Side Story’] would come on once a year. I was mesmerized and was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ This is the first time I actually got to do it. This man made my dream come true.”
She’s referring to director Bill Condon, who has become a preeminent filmmaker for movie musicals, having worked on “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls,” Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast...

Best friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman indeed reunited on Friday, Jan. 24, but, unfortunately for fans of comic book films, their unexpected get-together wasn’t in any way prompted by a Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Rather, Jackman appeared on stage for the opening night of his brand-new From New York With Love concert series at Radio City Music Hall, and Reynolds surprised those in attendance when Jackman revealed his buddy’s presence in the audience. Reynolds said of his longtime friend to the crowd, courtesy of People:
"This was the first major movie star I ever worked with, 16 or 17 years ago on X-Men Origins: Wolverine. And I was young still. I was impressionable. I was expecting going to this movie set with this guy right here, and I didn't know, I really didn't know what was gonna happen. But what I saw was just about the best thing anyone could...

The second renaissance of Robbie Williams is upon us, with the recent release of the musical biopic Better Man, starring a CGI chimpanzee as the beloved Take That singer. The film shares a director with the critically acclaimed musical The Greatest Showman, and its premiere at the Telluride Film Festival was positively received by critics, though its box office performance has been underwhelming. Williams underwent a turbulent personal journey to fame in the '90s and early aughts, cheerfully documented by the UK tabloids of the era, but it appears the release of Better Man has many Americans admitting they aren't familiar with the British pop icon — and Bravo daddy Andy Cohen has a quick fix for that.

Ryan Reynolds showed up for his Deadpool & Wolverine costar Hugh Jackman as the actor kicked off his From New York, With Love concert series at Radio City Music Hall Friday night.
In his signature sarcastic tone that he uses with his longtime friend, Reynolds feigned shock at Jackman’s musical theater talent.
“This fella puts on a show. I had no idea he could sing and dance,” the actor wrote on his Instagram story over a selfie of him and Jackman. “I knew he could stab and grunt. The show is an immersive retrospective and jamboree of feeling, giggles and joy. Not one dry eye in the house.”
Reynolds attended the show with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy.
“Sitting with [Shawn Levy] and watching our pal tear a hole thru @RadioCityMusicHall is a core memory,” Reynolds continued. “I give it a 4.9 stars out of 5 because I was told there’d be a car chase.
