Plot

A zootechnician visits a remote farm, developing relationships with tragic consequences, and 1982 during Martial Law, as investigators reconstruct the 1978 crime scene to solve a multiple murder case involving the zootechnician.

The story takes place in two parallel time planes. The first plot follows the events of one autumn night in 1978. Edward Srodon, a zootechnician, makes an accidental stopover in a farmhouse of Dziabas family in the remote area of Bieszczady Mountains. He stays for the night. The initial distrust between the guest and his hosts is quickly dispelled with moonshine and turns into a camaraderie, intimacy and even friendship. A plan of making a joint business arises, as well as passion and lust, which lead to a surprising and tragic consequences... Second plot is set on a winter day, during the Martial Law in Poland. An investigating team of Milicja Obywatelska (People's Militia) is visiting the crime scene. Lieutenant Mroz is trying to solve the multiple murder case from four years ago. The tool he has to his disposal is the reconstruction of events with help of the chief suspect, Srodon.—Anonymous

In 1978, in Poland, Edward Srodon loses his beloved wife that had a brain hemorrhage and becomes alcoholic. He decides to sell everything, leave the town and begin a new life in another place. His bus breaks on the road, and he walks in the rain until a farm to ask for shelter. Zdzislaw Dziabas and his woman, Bozena Dziabasowa, welcome Srodon and he drinks with Dziabas, who shows where he manufactures his moonshine. Srodon proposes Dziabas to increase his production of the booze to sell to the soviets and they calculate how much they need to produce. Srodon shows his money and spends the night in the bed of Dziabas' son. During the night, he goes to the toilet and Dziabas and Bozena stab the son in the dark instead of Srodon in a night of murders. In 1982, the prosecutor and a team of police officers reconstitute the night to check what happened in that night,—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
