Malin Akerman ("Maggie") and Jack Donnelly ("Christopher") are married in real life. Akerman and Donnelly worked together once before in a film Friendsgiving (2020) where they played Molly, a divorcing mother, with her 'fling' boyfriend Jeff, during a Thanksgiving weekend with "friends."
The screenplay in the film opening says "'Paper Scissors' created by Philippe Martinez, written by Maggie Russell, June 2, 2021." Martinez is the producer, co-writer and director of A Week in Paradise (2022).
