Nearly two years have passed since Netflix debuted a new season of Black Mirror, even if it feels like much longer. The streamer has finally unveiled a trailer and new images for the upcoming seventh season, along with announcing an April 10, 2025 premiere date.

“You can expect a mix of genres and styles,” stated series creator Charlie Brooker during the 2024 Geeked Week festival. “We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional.”

Calling the forthcoming season "a little bit Og Black Mirror," Brooker noted that Season 7 — which is slated to hit Netflix on April 10, 2025, goes "back to basics in many ways. They're all sci-fi stories," a welcome change after the past few seasons have focused more on the horror aspect than anything. It’s unclear why King sparked the rumor in the first place, though Lively’s bitter public feud with “It Ends With Us” might have given her some ideas. Kenrick and Lively are both at the film festival to promote “Another Simple Favor” after previously collaborating with Feig on “A Simple Favor.”

Fresh off the premiere of Another Simple Favor, the sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor, filmmaker Paul Feig says he’d like there to be a sequel to another one of his movies, 2024’s Jackpot!. While it was critically panned, Feig said he "loved" the Prime Video film that starred Awkwafina, John Cena, and Simu Liu.

The first A Simple Favormovie was a pleasant surprise when it was released in theaters back in the fall of 2018. Paul Feig was in need of a hit after the whole Ghostbusters debacle, and adaptations of novels about missing white women were really trendy for a time. Granted, Darcey Bell's novel wasn't very good, but Feig's adaptation had a certain amount of snark to it. Yes, it remained mostly loyal to the novel, but Feig's signature sense of humor, and the undeniable dynamic chemistry between stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Livelywere just too hard to ignore. It makes sense that there's a sequel, but it is still pretty weird that this is Feig's first sequel. Especially after earning so much acclaim for movies like Bridesmaids and Spy.

Like a cocktail made of ingredients that aren’t meant to go together, but that stimulate your taste buds in a just sweet-and-tart, gin-and-blood-orange enough way that you keep sipping it, “A Simple Favor” was a movie powered by its singular flavor. The Miami Film Festival today revealed the lineup for its upcoming 42nd edition, a slate of almost 200 narratives, documentaries, and short films, including 35 world premieres.

Miami Dade College’s (Mdc) Miami Film Festival has announced its lineup for its upcoming festival taking place from April 3 – 13 in Miami. Mostly, it will be quite the event for fans of Julie Delpy (count us in), whose latest directorial effort, “Meet the Barbarians,” will open the festival on April 3. The multihyphenate will also be on hand to receive the festival’s Impact Award, and on April 4, she will offer an extended introduction to a 30th-anniversary screening of Richard Linklater’s “Before Sunrise.” The festival will close with “On Swift Horses,” directed by Daniel Minahan, on April 12.

Amazon MGM Studios has released the official teaser trailer for Another Simple Favor, director Paul Feig’s A Simple Favor sequel launching globally on Prime Video on May 1. The film will have its World Premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) on March 7.

Bridesmaids star Chris O’Dowd has said that he wishes Graham Linehan was writing more after The It Crowd creator claimed he was canceled for his transgender views.

O’Dowd shot to fame in The It Crowd and told The Times of London that he still gets a lot of love for the comedy, which was broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 between 2006 and 2013.

The Irish actor said he remains in contact with Linehan and wishes the writer had not been shunned by the industry after expressing gender-critical beliefs.

“I wish he was writing more, and I wish he was in the industry more. I think he’s the best comedy writer I’ve worked with,” O’Dowd said.

Elvira star Cassandra Peterson was one of several to pay tribute to the actress Friday on Instagram after coming up together at The Groundlings in Los Angeles and appearing in Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) and The Elvira Show (1993) together.

“My heart is breaking upon hearing the news of my dear friend @lynnestewart78 Lynne Stewart’s passing,” wrote Peterson on Instagram. “One of the kindest, sweetest, funniest women who ever lived. Two Ghostbustersare set to co-star in a new odd couple comedy movie from director Max Barbakow (Brothers). Per Deadline, Bill Murray, who starred in 1984’s Ghostbustersand its subsequent sequels, will star alongside Kristen Wiig, who played Erin Gilbert in 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot (also known as Ghostbusters: Answer the Call).

The film, titled Epiphany, will be launched this week in Berlin at the European Film Market by Rocket Science, CAA Media Finance, and Range Media Partners. Epiphany stars Wiig as Favorite Ives, who is a fashionista and heiress who loses her fortune overnight.

Favorite then goes on a two-week mission to find a rich husband while she fights creditors and tries to keep a roof over her head. Wiig’s Favorite then meets Oz Bell (Murray), who is an eccentric billionaire and also a math savant and Oz ends up needing Favorite’s “spirit and spontaneity as much as she needs his money.
