Patrick J. Adams might not be returning to the Suits universe via Suits: L.A. anytime soon, but he does have one project in the works that is much more exciting. Adams starred as Mike Ross in the main cast of the USA Network legal drama from season 1 to season 7. Mike exited Suits once Adams left after season 7 for personal reasons. But, the actor was able to return in a three-episode arc in the show's final season to conclude Mike's story. So, when Suits: L.A. premieres, it will have been a little over five years since Adams played Mike.
Suits: L.A. will premiere on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. Et on NBC. The spinoff's pilot was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but the cast and crew are filming the rest of the series in Los Angeles, California.
After Suits experienced a resurgence on Netflix in 2023, NBC ordered a spinoff — Suits: L.

Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2024 is missing a certain amount of original series firepower. In the place of a blockbuster like The Handmaid’s Tale or Shōgun, however, is some content diversity.
The first of the month sees the premiere of four-episode British series Shardlake. This mystery drama takes place during the reign of Henry VIII and features none other than Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) investigating a murder. Other series of note this month include the Korean drama Uncle Samsik on May 15.
Movies are bit more interesting on Hulu in May. Teen comedy Prom Dates premieres on May 3. That will be followed by the 2023 Adam Drive film Ferrari on May 24. Before all that though is the real heavy hitter. You can watch Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance as The King in Elvis as early as May 1. Jacob Elordi is expanding his auteur collaborations and will star in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming “Frankenstein” as the titular monster.

Garfield was originally cast; due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the star exited the project following scheduling conflicts.
Oscar Isaac is set to play scientist Victor Frankenstein, with Mia Goth, Christoph Watlz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery rounding out the cast.

What To Watch This Weekend Till January, 7th 2024 ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Much like its predecessor, this week leaves audiences craving that elusive spark of innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of cinematic offerings. A notable absence of animated content is a stark reality, but fear not, for the enigmatic allure of mystery thrillers takes center stage. Amidst the somewhat lackluster releases, Sky Cinema treats us to a comedic escape with “Arthur’s Whisky,” a film exclusively available through subscription. At the same time, the rest of the streaming lineup demands a commitment of a different kind – the decision to purchase or rent.
However, before the disappointment, let’s pivot to the silver lining in serialized storytelling. Netflix beckons us with the binge-worthy allure of “Fool Me Once,” offering a glimmer of hope amid the scarcity. Meanwhile, stalwarts like “Fargo” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” continue to grace our screens with fresh episodes,...

The January 2024 horror film Night Swim may follow the success of last year's popular hit M3GAN. He Went That Way, a road movie and serial killer story, faces tough competition but may find appeal from its lead actors. The Mean Girls musical, based on the popular Broadway play, is the most anticipated January release and has the potential to outperform the original film.
There are eight major titles that are releasing in theaters which will make up the bulk of the January 2024 box office. Eleven major titles were released in December 2023 to wrap up the year in movies as awards season rapidly approaches. Some of these titles include Poor Things, Ferrari, The Boy and the Heron, The Iron Claw, Migration, Aquaman 2, and Wonka. A strong box office finish in December allowed for a $9 billion total in revenue, a landmark figure that 2024 is already projected not to surpass due to its fewer wide releases.

Thanks to “Priscilla,” “Saltburn,” and “The Sweet East,” “Euphoria” breakout Jacob Elordi is now a bona fide Hollywood star. But before those movies ruled the festival circuits this year, Elordi had another film on the way that was postponed due to the untimely death of its director. Jacob Elordi slashing his way through a thriller? Yes, please. The “Priscilla” and “Saltburn” star co-leads Tribeca Film Festival entry “He Went That Way” alongside Zachary Quinto.
The duo brings the harrowing true story of a 1964 serial killer to life, with Quinto portraying a celebrity animal trainer who picks up a hitchhiker (Elordi), only to discover his passenger is a young, cunning serial killer. Patrick J. Adams also stars, as well as a live monkey.

Directed by Jeffrey Darling, the film tells the true story of a celebrity animal handler who picked up a young hitchhiker who turned out to be a serial murderer. Jacob Elordi plays the diabolical deviant. He broke out in Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth” trilogy and has starred in the likes of “Saltburn” and “Priscilla.”
Patrick J. Adams of “Suits” fame stars. That decade-old USA legal comedy inexplicably became a streaming sensation on Netflix this past summer.
Penned by Evan M. Weiner, “He Went That Way” had its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Vertical plans to release the film in theaters in early 2024. It is inspired by Conrad Hillberry’s book, “Luke Karamazov” and the real-life account of Dave Pitts’ encounter with Larry Lee Ranes. Pitts was the sole survivor in Ranes’ killing spree.

Billed as a wicked spin on the buddy road trip pic, the film is set in 1964 and follows 19-year-old serial killer Bobby (Elordi) as he is picked up by a celebrity animal handler, Jim (Quinto), on a desolate stretch of Route 66, with priceless cargo in tow: his chimpanzee, Spanky, an American TV darling. He’s baaack! Zachary Quinto appeared in the first two “American Horror Story” installments as gay homeowner Chad Warwick (Season 1’s “Murder House”) and as fan-fave serial killer Bloody Face (Season 2’s “Asylum”), but then he took a nine-year hiatus before popping up last year as erotic art curator Sam (Season 11’s “NYC”). Well, “AHS” viewers won’t have to wait another nine years to see Quinto again, as he’ll return to the franchise in Season 12’s “Delicate” in a mysterious role, which brings his tally to four total characters.
Quinto confirmed the news at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his movie “He Went That Way.” Speaking about new “AHS” cast member Kim Kardashian, the bearded actor told reporters, “I did a cameo on this season of ‘American Horror Story’ and I got to meet her. She was so lovely and warm and, really, I don’t think she needs my advice.

About halfway through Jeffrey Darling’s crime thriller, He Went That Way, I had to consistently fight through the anger to remind myself that this genre-mashup is “just a movie.” At this point in the film, 19-year-old serial killer Bobby Falls had just made good on a promise and provided a kind gesture to his latest captive Jim Goodwin. It’s the kind of scene that felt emotionally manipulative; I felt some cheesy speech about how people could change was right around the corner. Thankfully, this never came to pass, but the film’s quality didn't get any better.
Zachary Quinto stars as the celebrity animal handler, Jim Goodwin, who travels across the country to Chicago with his precious cargo, the famous TV chimpanzee Spanky. Like “Singin’ in the Rain” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” before it, “He Went That Way” tells the story of an iconic performer struggling to adapt to changing public tastes. Unlike those films, the performer in question is a monkey named Spanky.
In the late 1950s, Spanky dominated the variety show circuit with his mastery of the beloved midcentury comedy trope known as “monkeys doing things that monkeys don’t typically do.” But in a post-Beatles America in 1964, family-friendly chimp hijinks just aren’t enough to impress the Ed Sullivans and Perry Comos of the world. The monkey that was once the most popular TV star in America is now scrounging for gigs.

The foundations of He Went That Way would appear to promise a movie with curiosity, tension, volatility and perhaps even the kind of improbable bonding that can grow out of Stockholm syndrome. Putting a celebrity animal trainer, a serial killer and a chimp together in a station wagon headed across Route 66 in the turbulent mid-’60s at the very least suggests something with edge and compelling strangeness. Which makes it disappointing to report that despite the best efforts of co-stars Jacob Elordi and Zachary Quinto, this ineffectual true-crime road trip is entirely lacking in danger.

Welcome to another edition of Deadline’s International Disruptors, a feature where we shine a spotlight on key execs and companies outside of the U.S. shaking up the offshore marketplace. This week we’re talking with British indie film veteran Phil Hunt, who is the founder of a raft of companies including production outfit and film financier Head Gear, international sales business Bankside and, more recently, New Zealand and Australian distribution genre label (Yet) Another Monster Company.
Phil Hunt is not a conformist. From the moment he burst onto the British independent scene more than two decades ago with his microbudget productions Fast Food and Chunky Monkey – the former starring a young Gerard Butler and the latter an off-beat black comedy about a loner with a penchant for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and Julie Andrews – it was clear that this was a guy who was not going to...

Step aside Austin Butler, there’s a new Elvis in the building.
Hot off of Butler’s turn as the King of Rock ‘n Roll for Baz Luhrmann’s mind-bending biopic “Elvis,” Jacob Elordi will play the “Jailhouse Rock” crooner for A24 drama “Priscilla.”
Based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me,” the film will be directed by Sofia Coppola and star “Mare of Easttown” breakout Cailee Spaeny as the ex-wife of Elvis. Coppola also adapted Priscilla’s New York Times bestselling memoir for the big screen.
Per a Deadline source, Spaeny was Coppola’s first choice to portray Priscilla, while “Euphoria” star Elordi auditioned for the role of Elvis. The film marks Oscar winner Coppola’s first feature since “On the Rocks” starring Rashida Jones and longtime collaborator Bill Murray. Coppola also produces the film, along with Fremantle Company, American Zoetrope, and Sony’s Stage 6 Films will finance the film.

On-location filming in Los Angeles set an all-time quarterly record in the fourth quarter of 2021, was double the annual output from 2020 and was up 3.2% from the pre-pandemic year of 2019, according to the latest report from FilmLA, the city and county film permit office. Even so, production is off to a slow start again in 2022 because of the ongoing Omicron surge.
“This is an encouraging report by most indicators, but how production will fare in 2022 remains uncertain at this time,” said FilmLA president Paul Audley. “With the highly contagious Omicron variant driving record Covid-19 cases in Los Angeles County, industry output is also affected. Just as 2021 got off to a slow start, the New Year has filmmakers feeling cautious, with many studios and production companies delaying their return to filming. Our hope is that 2022 follows a similar trajectory as last year – with a slow, responsible start and strong end-of-year finish.”
