Enigma of Fear is an investigation and puzzle game set in a dystopian reality where the paranormal exists and has its own rules. In the game, you control Mia, a paranormal investigator who is searching for her father, Mr. Verity, the leader of an order of agents who investigate the paranormal, who disappeared in the "Perimeter - the place that doesn't exist".
The idea behind its gameplay is similar to Outer Wilds and Obraddin, with the aim of being directly connected to its narrative, leaving the player free to explore, find clues, solve puzzles, deduce what's going on and when you put it all together and manage to connect all the dots of the investigation you discover the game's narrative and it's like a big plot twist happens in your head and everything starts to make sense and that's when the game ends. Playing and investigating Enigma of Fear gives you a very strong feeling that you are investigating a real case, making your own notes and deductions about events that still seem uncertain in order to try and find out what happened there.
The game has a combat system, which is its weakest point, but that's not the focus of the game, and as all its other points are extremely strong, combat ends up being something that doesn't have a negative impact on the player's experience.
That said, Enigma of Fear is a 10/10 game. Fun and ingenious puzzles together with a complex, creative and extremely well thought-out narrative, this game is easily one of the best games ever made.
